Thanks Joe for the tip. I've noticed the bees like dirty water that collects in things more than what I give them....I'll try the salt....already had the pool noodle idea in mind, but you did show I can just cut a lot more narrow pieces.
Great to see you out there, Joe. Always appreciate your video work with your bees. All the bees around here (south Alberta) are still wrapped up tight in Winter!
Great tip.!! I have a neighbor threatening to spray poison if I don’t keep my bees out of his yard., even threatened to sue me. , gas station across the street did spray and killed 17 of my hives.
My neighbor a mile away has hummingbird feeders all over her yard and said she uses a case of poison on them a week during the dry summertime because of my bees. I feed the hummnngbirds during this time and have no problems but she does. I feed the bees too. Just another problem new neighbors cause my bees.
a bee is going to go where a bee wants to go . you can't stop them from doing that . and generally , a bee won't bother you unless you bother it . those people would have been told to exit my property and do not return . and if threats were made as some in this comment thread have said were made , the law would become involved if anything happened to my bees . bet on that .

As silly as it may sound, this video has got to be one of the most important tips hands down lol.
I agree this is a great solution to a potentially big problem Thanks Joe !

Awesome to see you. With all this warm weather, my bees are out in about.

Agreed. I had a neighbor upset a few years ago because they liked her pool. Put out more water for them here with salt, and the complaints stopped.
I'm about to get new neighbors, and may be having to deal with the same.
@@WrenchHead I wish you luck.
I keep salt water out for mine because they like the neighbors swimming pool.

Luckily my bees are located near a swamp, and so they don't bother the neighbors too much. The dragonflies do get the bees though.
Thanks Joe!!! Great tip. Chat with you about your queens in another mouth.

Thank you Joe !!! Will table salt work or does it need to be a different type?
Great trip thank you sweetie!
Where did you pick up that water trough?
sorry I don't remember I have had it 20 years
When bees are really taking the water they are raising alot of brood.
Don't really know the answer to that but I would say yes because when they start brewing up even if it's cold outside they drink a lot of water
Like Kosher salt? And do you add anything for mosquitoes…like BT?
👍👍👍
You said 15 lbs of rock salt. How much water do think is in there Joe? Thanks for the tip. I appreciate it man. God bless
I believe he said 16 oz, so not quite that much.
he said 50-60 gallons . but you didn't listen .

problem with that attitude is that if you dont get along with your neighbors its quite easy for people to poison bees and youd never know who did it
@@sethfyou4750 not likely , cameras run 24/7/365 .
