Lethul lost a 1v1 on Lockout against Snipedown in a showmatch and is still traumatized. Midship, Lockout, and Sanctuary are my top 3 for greatest maps of all time.
I think Lockout is a good, but not great map.
And thanks to lethul, Snipedown was traumatized into retirement 😂
Lockout is best map. Guardian is great rendition of it

Not a competitive map, but my favorite of all time is CE’s “Hang ‘em High”. 1v1 snipers with full-on screen cheating (shared xbox) is how I fell in love with the game…

I have to say, I am surprised that nobody said Beaver Creek at all. I always thought that was a pretty good competitive map and a classic that never returned to halo. Lockout, Midship,/Heretic/Truth Sanctuary, Warlock right from the get go. Chill Out, Damnation, Prisoner, and Hang Em High were great in CE. I love Plaza and Coliseum in H5. Recharge is a pretty good map I have to agree with that. I'd love to see them bring back the favorite maps from each halo, it seems like there is enough agreement between the community on which maps are the favorites from each of the games.
Its because too many of the people in the video are h3+ players. CE had some amazing maps (Chill Out, Damnation, Prisoner, Rat Race, Battle Creek, etc), but unless you started playing with CE or maybe H2, you're not going to know of those older maps
@@joecosta117 Yeah, that's true. That makes me realize how old I really am. But some of them clearly did play h2 at least. I just feel like it's totally forgotten cause it never got remade ever again or something.
Maybe because beaver creek had the worst spawns out there
@@Jellae I mean, I guess? I am trying to remember, sometimes people spawned bottom middle? Maybe that's what you are referring to? I am not sure it was worse than narrows where you spawn cannon or flag with a sniper top middle ripping your face off from spawn. Plus, that was pretty rare compared to base spawns and back base, but I will say, red side definitely had a little bit of an advantage. But so is the case with most maps, beats spawning with a stalker rifle on one side of the map and not the other, or not in the middle I suppose.
It came back in halo reach as battle canyon
We can disagree all we want on the best maps, as long as we all agree that Halo is the best game ever made.

Zanzibar and subsequently Last Resort were such goated maps for BTB social.

Recharge and Live Fire are nice but to put them in the top 3 Halo maps of all time is absurd.

Halo 2 has the best maps by far. Lockout, midship, warlock, sanctuary are the king of competitive halo maps.
And great BTB maps too. Small, medium, and large H2 had it all. If I had to list the good/great Halo 2 maps Id damn near be listing all of them. Halo 2 is probably why Im such a critic when it comes to 343 maps.

All my picks stem from enjoyment factor as Halo was anyways meant to be FUN. Competitive-focused maps were never really my thing.

All my memories are Guardian, Pit, and Narrows. Construct actually was kind of interesting too. I really like Live Fire and Recharge in Infinite. Didn't like H4 or H5.
not a single h4 map mentioned, like the community forgot about that game. haven would actually play okay in infinite, oddly enough many h4 maps would translate well in infinite
chill out is such a great map. really would love to see teleporters come back into play more with halo.

Bro halo has so many legendary maps
I don't understand why 343 just doesn't start out with adding CLASSIC maps and weapons into the game. I thought Halo Infinite was to be something to unite all Halo fans: Bring back classic Halo style but in a modern format. I don't know how to explain it. But why not bring back these maps that everybody seemed to love? Why not also bring back all the weapons everybody used to love? Magnum, Carbine, DMR, et cetera. Now we have the Bandit rifle which is some sort of Halo 5 magnum but worse disguised as a DMR with no scope. Just start with all the classic and expand from that point!

Mikwen had it right. Sanc, Midship, Lockout are all GOATs of comp Halo and but your CORE Halo memories were made on the BTB maps like Headlong, Burial Mounds, Blood Gulch, even Terminal and shit etc..
