I finally bit the bullet and bought the 360iq and got it about 7-8 wks ago. It has solved so many hat pressing problems with creases, scorch marks etc. I order samples of leather look lasered patches from an etsy dealer as a trial run of 24. The dealer was very cooperative and allowed me to get a mixed images of samples using logos from existing customers which I mailed to them individually. Results were really good. In another two weeks (at current hat sale rate) I will have paid for the 360. I will be placing an order with Stahl's for leather patches within a day or two. Will admit there was a learning curve on the press and a few ruined hats but all in all I am extremely happy with the press.

What is on the back of the leather patch to keep it attached ? Is there some sort of adhesive ?

Yes there is, very effective from my experience. If you make your own, there is an adhesive you can spray on (thoroughly) and let dry, the heat reactivates it.

I just got my press and I don’t think I am pressing patches long enough. Where can I get a heating chart?

No one got back to you. If you don’t have a heated lower platen, then preheat for about 20 seconds, use craft paper or silicone to protect the hat. Place the leather then press at medium pressure, around 60 psi for about 40 seconds using the 1/4 inch Stahls sheet or 1/8 silicone sheet. I trust you patches turned out good, mine sucked, wrong proof was used, see my post.
