@@explicitreverberation9826 i dont really have any basis for this but im assuming the veyron is geared much longer for a higher top speed so it can't put the power down as quickly as the r34. the veyron is a very fast car (0-60mph in 2.4 sec) so idk why it was so slow off the line compared to the r34 in this race lol

That R34 is visually unstable at 311 km/h, and Bugatti had to re-engineer the entire chassis of the Veyron to keep the car stable at the jump from 400km/h to 417km/h. I really doubt any Supra could make it to 400km/h without basically being at the complete mercy of the wind

@Hyp3X QuiKz if you were a Gtr fan you'd realize that the skyline R34 was never 20k it's always been more than 70k I 1999 it costed around 90k not 20k and comparing a stock Skylkne Gtr to a Bugatti is like comparing apples to Oranges they were both made for different purposes.

for anyone watching this, understand that this was a race against the clock, not each other. They compared the times of the two vehicles as they completed the run individually to deduce the winner. That way they ruled out reaction times and got the performance of the two cars. The ET= the car's actual time from A to B.

Veyron was in fact the winner if you take ET only for both cars, Veyron also had faster trap speed.
Skyline was winner if you take ET+RT for both cars.
Also, is it just me, or does the Skyline's hood start lifting off towards the end?!

The Veyron was developed with top speed in mind, with less emphasis on acceleration or cornering. Naturally, it's gonna perform poorly in drag races, but it's good on long, straight roads.

19grand The aerodynamics of the veyron are far superior over the R34, if you listen closely the gearing of the R34 it's sitting on the limiter for such a long time so he's not going any faster but the engine has the power to accelerate more if he gets a different gear which would make all the difference!
Juzh123 you can do a lot to enhance the performance of a veyron first of all if you just gut the inside and lighten it up a bit that would help immensely, don't call me an idiot when you don't have a clue about what you're talking about.
Everyone is talking about R34 isn't stock, but everyone forgets about the year of production of Nissan and Vieron. Of course, it isn't stock, but it compensates for its years with tuning. This says a lot that the old Japanese cars are cool and they won't make them anymore.

The Veyron won over the mile. The GTR won over the 1/4 mile run.
It doesn’t matter that the veyron Launched much later than the GTR, as the timer starts for each car when the car launches. It doesn’t measure who crossed the finish first, it measures who got the the fastest after launching.
The GT-R was highly modified, the Veyron was stock. Hope this can clear some things up

The Bugatti is not overpriced. Those of you who say that need to be sent back to the zoo. Look at the skyline. It's stripped to the balls, looks uncomfortable as hell, when the camera shows the inside it looks like there's a tornado happening outside, and it is fully tuned for DRAG RACING. The Bugatti is dead stock and could easily be used day to day and yet it still has the power to keep up to that GTR. I love GTR's but the fanboys make me hate the car soo much.

There are plenty of reasons why the GT-R is so desired. A generation of kids grew up driving the GT-R in Gran Turismo. Many of my peers read features in automotive magazines, but honestly 2 Fast 2 Furious locked it down for me. The allure is also heighten due to the 25 year import band from the NHTSA’s (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). Skyline is truly a breed of its own with respect that surpasses the Nissan brand itself. No other Nissan vehicle has been put on a pedestal so grand as the GT-R.
It was banned due to the reason that not even a single cop car could outrun it.

It's the reaction time! the bugatti driver had a bad start(see the reaction time at the end)! It's very difficult to beat 2,5 seconds 0-100 no matter how much power the car has and how light it is! A dragster could do it easily(0-100 in 1s), but that has 5000+ hp!

+moeen Almadani 1 mile race. Bugatti ET is less. 26.122s for Bugatti vs 26.154s for Skyline. Thus Bugatti = faster. ET = time minus reaction time. Reaction time is human factor. These races are specifically car vs car line to line so removes reaction time factors. Skyline was still faster in a drag (1/4 mile) but as I said a long time ago, over 1 mile Bugatti is microscopically faster than this Skyline and over any distance further it would just take off since it caps at 400+ kph where the Skyline's max is ~312.
