I have to admit, I have never been much of a Pantera fan... but THIS song (and that galloping opening riff from Hades!) just rips all kinds of late 1980s metal conventions to smithereens!!! "Queen of the Reich" meets Godzilla's testicles... on crack! Dime & Vinnie; we'll see you raising Hell in the afterlife, bros! (... and very cool remastering, Christian F.)
This song could have easily been on cowboys from hell. But it is just the whole picture. Over and out and Death trap pointed to where Pantera was going, and Cowboys just knocked it out of the park.
No. Pantera wants to pretend the first 4 never exists. Like their first is Cowboys From Hell. They said if Phil Anselmo don't sing it, it's not Pantera. Then why don't add this one too...
@@dreadfulkrow7377 i don't know why, but most of tunes from this álbum are great, very powerful the voice, guitars are very good, great pe rforming of Demiebag. I think they don't recongnoce them because it's not the defintive sound of pantera, that started with Cowboys from hell... , i don't care what Anslemo think about this, but i like it. In fact, thanks to you, i wanted to lisetn this album, i have it on Flac format, and i am playing it, it's great, guitars very fast, and good screamings
One of the greatest things to realize about this album, is that it was the first time that everything was in place. Longtime Pantera fans always sort of knew that this album was around and one of the biggest questions we always had was why it just sort of disappeared. Most longtime fans of the band actually knew the whole reason that Phil Anselmo got his chance was because the band immediately loved him and what he brought. Pantera at first had tried to work things out with the first singer and Terry glaze was Fired Instead because when the band told him where they wanted to actually go glaze had actually complained that Pantera wasnt Glam enough and if they went that way he would quit. So they fired him instead. Phil on the other hand immediately loved everything they were telling him and brought even more to the table. I guess, its always been hard to understand why the band had also wanted power metal to just sort of go away too when everyone else who ever heard it was telling them that this was some of their best shit they had done. I guess the answer really, is that pictures are worth more than words and image is everything. On this album, Pantera just look ridiculous and could easily be mistaken for any 80s hair band even though this album is almost completely Speed metal. I guess if they had decided to drop their ridiculous look at the same time that they decided to write some really good metal, This album might have actually been considered the first Pantera Album today because they never would have tried to shy away from it.
1. They really didn't look that ridiculous, especially at this stage. They're literally just wearing long hair, black leather and a bit of denim. 2. Terry Glaze wasn't too contentious about the musical direction of the band. He was just frustrated with the arrangement where he would always be out-voted by the Abbots, who never split their vote, and sometimes Rex on band decisions. He gave them a notice that if a new arrangement wasn't agreed on that he would leave the band and when the day came he left or was fired, depending on who you ask.

it's sad that the early albums just didn't have good production value, thin sound especially in the bass department, not due to the playing or composition at all it's friggin amazing right down to the harmony, just a cheaper studio, you could definitely stick this song on Pain Killer, if you want to hear the difference between sub par recording and pro studio play that priest album,it's the same style, only priest had the cash for the sound.
Pantera wasnt Shit without Phil. The only Problem was that later on, Phil Thought he was. Some things went to his head i guess but nobody has ever really liked him this much. Hes sort of back though.
Phil deserves all the credit he can get for saving this band. I will never fault him for it. But he also is the same guy who almost ended it years later and i think he knows it.
this sounds so much like metallica and judas priest had a baby

Back when Dimebag was Diamond. Dude was fucking talented for 20 years old. For humans playing guitar period
He's 22 here but yes he was very talented at 20 as well
Best song on the album.
id say down below but this is up there
Good album, i don 't know why spotify underestimate it . It's energic and explosive, good guitars, and voice its ok...
I think it has to do with the quality of the recording.
@@kenthefley2226 Yes, maybe that's the reason, thanks, good luck

Lyrics:
I see you runnin'
You're gone
A million miles away
But you know I'm comin'
Violenz that
Blows you into space
And you think
You're gonna get away
Like you did before
But you're the type
I never feel sorry for, so
FALL INTO MY DEATH TRAP
FALL INTO MY DEATH TRAP
Life's paranoia
You're hiding in
The dark all day
At nite I call you
Cause I know
You're always wide awake
So you never
Sleep at all at nite
Extermination
Of you're wasted life
So now I've got you
You're cornered like a fool
I terminate you
Live by my golden rule
Task complete
And once again I've won
Now I search
For another victim to come
I can't explain the sheer
Thrill of it all
Its such a chill
To watch the meek just fall
DEATH TRAP DEATH TRAP
DEATH TRAP DEATH TRAP
FALL IN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is Pantera back when they were good and when they found a good sound.
theyve always been good. they knew how to throw down like no other band has before
I feel like this is when the band was at their peak musically and they got heavy but still carried some of that 80s style that was good!.
Love galloping, crunch and balls rhythm guitar.
Pantera rules
Razorfist brought me here.
He brought me back here.
Same
Reminds me Kill Em All Metallica!
Put it on 1.25 speed, and it really sounds like it
