none of the shit with Terry Glaze ought to be re released other than to hear Darrell and Vinnie play more. But this, this album never got the respect it deserves. It is the first album with Phil Anselmo and should have always been included in their catalog. Songs like Death Trap are Phils style, nobody elses. He came up with that shit definately. and a lot of other things on this. So did Darrell and Vinnie and Rex.
The best Pantera song ever made. Nobody in the band would say it or even think this is their best song... but it is. The Abbott Brothers thrash side was outstanding. Hell this is a top-10 thrash song of all time.

They may have not been far beyond driven heavy in the 80s but they sure as hell were never poison. They were more like wasp or accept or judias priest. Eventually they made their own sound.
I love this album, I am the Night, Cowboys from Hell and VDoP equally, other albums also have some great tracks on them. Pantera was great band no matter what style they played, is this so hard to understand?
Of all the shit People said back in the day, they dont now. I want to see one other band this good with only one Guitarist. Why exactly do some bands need an army of guys now to play? What, do 3 or 4 guys play and the rest of them sit there and drink coffee? If it only takes the best bands 3 guys to actually play, what the heck do the rest of them actually do? Its almost lost on young guys why so many people loved Darrell or Rex Brown, or Even Lemmy, for that matter, but its lost on noone else ever. I have endlesslely said to any guy that tells me he likes Certain newer bands, usually the only thing i say is, Why dont you listen to Pantera. If they do, usually the thing i hear, is why, why did some Scumbag kill that guy. everyone ive talked to who ever realizes it they say the same thing, this dude Darrell, this is some of the best shit ive ever heard. Thats all they ever say when they first listen to Pantera. the only other band ive seen thats this skilled is probably Motorhead.
There were a bunch of awesome songs like that which could be played with 90's stuff...i didn't ever understand the stupid reason for that...Some people say it was a kind of "shame" from the "hair past"... that was a pitty for the fans, unfortunately...
This is the first real Pantera album. Its just not widely known because it was produced by a very small company. Not to mention the fact that the members of the band rarely ever even acknowleged their early music.
A shame indeed. This has grown into my favorite pantera album. Rock the world, power metal, and this song are fucken sick. No other way to put it then those words
Yea, This was the album when you could hear the sound getting much harder and thrashier from the earlier stuff. Great album if you can get ahold of it.
Darrell could literally shred endlessly. But theirs more, that is often lost on people, Darrell could Could play Rhythym and shred endlessly. He was the only one in this band who did both. Rex is almost as good. Rex could and did always Fill in and back up Darrell.
And another thing, Nobody here ever tried or wanted to turn down Rex or Darrel. If anything everyone absolutely loved both of them. I think a certain member of another band was really the only guy shitty enough to do that.
Brilliant record, this record definitely had nothing to do with glam metal, this album is traditional heavy metal with thrash metal elements and priest in it, this album almost sounds like leftovers from kill ‘em all!!!
I think one thing that probably really bothers Phil, is that everyone is always asking where Rex is. Everyone wants to see Rex, and i do also. As much as Phil likes to introduce, a fill in, everyone who saw is is saying, where the heck is Rex.
Just as good as motorhead for what they did. If you understand the makeup of this band you will agree. This band did it all with 3 musicians. Mabeye motorhead was a little bit better but not much.
80s era those four albums terribly underappreciated and deserves proper reissues

"I do. And I'm tired of pretending it's not."
Of course not, but it's great 🔥
IT IS
You know, I think you might be right 😱
If you were comparing it to any other 5 albums i might agree. But their library after this is untouchable
@@kurtemusI too find there library post-Power Metal untouchable, but I mean it in a completely different way 😊
megadeth meets judas priest, this is so sick!!! hail Dimebag darrell & Vinnie Paul
Agreed 🤘
Was literally just thinking about how this sounds like a Megadeth song! Power Metal is an underrated album!
I always get a proper Testament vibe from this tune too
Still rocking in 22

My favorite Pantera album. So badass.
PANTERA , is the definition of
Heavy metal !
One best pantera songs ever and one best metal songs.
We need a remastered double gate fold album of this. I think we all deserve it by now

Only Pantera could pull this masterpiece off. Dime’s riffs are epic
