Kiam was among the the greatest bands we've ever hard. The voices & guitars were unique. It was as if they were singing in a valley. We'll listen to their music forever.
My college days at St. Charles Lwanga College Koboko is alive as I listen to this music. I wish I understood lingala. With the translation of a Congolese lady friend I able to know what it's all about, not our Mbale town in Uganda St.
Will Lingala music ever come back to identical glaring position of music? This was real music industry boom. Life was never the way it's now and didn't expect it to fall to this magnitude. Just rest it with God
This was real Music. Everything played physically and produced very sweet melodies. I remember those days we could dance to these Kiam songs the whole night during the infamous Disco Vumbis(Record players).
I dedicate this brilliant song to the late Doreen Aryemo...RIP You will always remain in my heart and dreams forever until we meet again, Baby Doreeeee as I used to call you
I have good memories of the Lingala music.VOK was the promoter of music.chaguo lako by Eddie Fondo every Tuesday was a must listen.Luckily I was the Entertainment Secretary in Shanzu Teachers college in the eighties.Music is therapiutic
I remember a Program called "Sounds Tropicana" In Lagos Nigeria when i was in High school in the 70s. This music and others like it was played on that Program. I felt my young heart flying to the source of the beautiful music! Oh Sweet Africa!!!!
This brings back memories of my teenage friends from Kakamega who introduced me to this Music......I got hooked to the tunes that it drives to Luhya Nights..........

Hi bro. Darubini, Your name isn't a coincidence because, you're a real binocular. And may God bless you abundantly for posting "Mbale" for us who are addicted to Congolese music of late 70's.... .
Darubini this was the record of the year 1977 (Kenya) if I am not wrong. I was still in primary school but I followed " top 10" on Daily Nation very keenly. Only place to hear this music was on the radio . Or if you had older siblings who played it in the proverbial red Phillips record player. Golden 70's! A marked contrast to what we listen to today.

Currently at Nyeri PGH. In the late 70s to listen to the song from Radio Uganda. late at night. The song made like lingala music up to now 40 years down the line.
Just takes me so far back to the Kenya that i loved not the current cesspool of tribalism...I miss that Kenya of my childhood...akina Karis, Odhis, Kyalo, Baraza, Omari - I miss that time...
This music is eternal. Makes me remember Brother John "Andoya" of St. Joseph's high school Rapogi who procured them for our music lessons immediately they were released. WaParadiso mko? Capt Osimbo, Tito Ochi Dollar, Omondi Anyiko, W'Otewa, Ondego Chamji, Owiyo, Oduor Ngoroko, Shem Olale, Fakoka, Lugonzo Mbori among others. Governor Okoth Obado was a small polite boy who was not part of our noisy group.
