Lyrics:
Who's to say what defines who we are?
Our actions or our visible scars?
Fuck those who judge my character without a spoken word
or put their faith in only what they've heard.
You dig deeper and lines become a blur,
so you squint till you're blind.
Rest those tired eyes and vacant mind.
There's a raven pacing the floor
outside your cellar door.
That same word he spoke before...
to judge me "nevermore."
It's all part of the plan.
We come alive when they put our heads in the sand.
Chorus:
Everybody wants to know what you've got in store for them,
laughing at all your failures, all your failures.
Everybody wants to use your life as a catalyst,
reliving all your failures, all your failures.
Last words are the only thing to be remembered...
Net worth and a list of all your crimes.
This world is only as big as the space that you expand your mind.
So give it up, give it up for the failures!
Give it up for the ones who tried!
It's not enough, not enough to to live up to the things
that others wanted for your life.
There's a raven pacing the floor
outside your cellar door.
That same "ghostly bird of yore..."
He haunts me "nevermore."
It's all part of the plan.
We come alive when they put our heads in the sand.
[Chorus]
It's a shame I even come out of your mouth.
Do you ever even stop to think about
what a waste of time and energy you spend,
when it's all perspective in the end?
If each star is a sun, dying and burning,
one by one inside this massive cosmic black,
far too expansive just to grasp, and knowing we created time
and this grand theory of an end, well, then it's really just a theory.
Maybe things have always been.
[Chorus]

#ITheMighty #Satori
Not that the instrumentals just sound like they were made by god itself, the lyrics are pure genius aswell. It's one of a few bands where I sometimes just sit there and read all the lyrics. So much melancholy, but always with a positive message. From the first album till now. Keep on rocking guys!
right there with you!
I loved the previous album and I swear I wasn't expecting this one to be even better.
great band, loving the new album, keep it up guys!
Amazing as usual! :D
Saw the keywork tattoo...lost my damn mind.
I'm blind and I love this song. My brother is deaf and he loves the video. The 3 dislikes must be hellen fucking kellers
the lyrics
THE GUY HAS A FUCKING KEYWORK TATTOO!
pretty much the only reason i gave this band a shot. Worth it!
ilovemuffins1337 They were on tour with C&C, saw them live, never heard of them before hand but I've loved them ever since.
Came here because they're on warped tour bill and had never heard before. Stayed because of keywork tattoo. I regret nothing.
all the band members got Keywork tattoos a couple hours before one of their shows in San Antonio, from what my brother said (he went to said show). said they entire band's been big Coheed fans for a long time now.
oh god just leave man c'mon
I can barely express my huuuge love for this band. I love the genre, songs, the instruments, vocals, videos, everything. They are the epitome of fucking beauty.
every time i listen to this i think he's saying ''who's to say what defines us? erections or invisible scars?"
ಠ_ಠ
Sophie ok haha I think the same thing
Who's to say what defines who we are? Erections or our visible scars?
+Nesperimus Who's to say what defines who we are? Our actions or our visible scars?
What? I was expressing my favorite lyrics to the song :)
"So give it up, give it up for the failures! Give it up for the ones who tried!
It's not enough, not enough to live up to the things that others wanted for your life." My favorite part of the song.
I swear Brent Walsh is a top ten lyricist, fucking phenomenal.
These lyrics are f*cking genius. Finally people who use thought and vocabulary...
the fucking bridge, man
Best bridge ever - wow.
pretty much
Also this band deserves much more credit it's better than most mainstream rock.
agree these guys should be on the radio..
Crying my eyes out to this song right now.
Cus life.
These guys are fucking awesome
I came for the Keywork.
I stayed for the amazing music.
Who else listening 2019 ?
Saw them about 3 weeks ago. They're great, much MUCH better than balance and composure (they suck imo...) and I'm confident that they will be as big or bigger than coheed in a few years.
this brings back so much memories of my high school days... what an amazing scene it was, full of great bands and great music
Is that a fucking Coheed tattoo? NICE.
Who's to say what defines who we are?

Yes! I didn't know much about I the mighty when I saw them open for coheed but I loved it.. balance was really awkward and hard to feel
The first line sounds like 'who's to say what defines who we are? ERECTIONS or a visible scar?'
I can not get enough of you guys! I've been looking for new bands and so far have been pretty disappointed with the stuff coming out recently, until now. You guys are insane and the drummer is so fucking good!
Me too!! I followed Pictureque and they are touring with these dudes and I decided to take a listen to them & I fell in love 😍
Something in me clicked that made me think about this song. I forgot about it!
Now I'm just wondering what other songs I've forgotten about 😒
Cutting room floor
This song has completely changed the way I deal with other people during arguements. If everyone would read the lyrics and apply them to their life, I think this world would feel a lot less headache, and a lot more compassion for the choices of others.
0:20 - 0:24 "Erections are invisible scars"?? :O
Our actions or our visible scars.
I thought that was a coheed tattoo, nice.
you know how sometimes you picture how a singer in a band looks before you see a picture of them and its completely disappointing. Brent Walsh looks exactly like I pictured him.
I've never seen something or heard a song I can relate to as much as this one in a long time. Very powerful stuff.
It seems like a slight reference to "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe hence "There's a raven pacing the floor" and "Nevermore" but amazing song.
THESE GUYS BETTER BE AT FUCKING WARPED
they are...theyve been announced since December 2013 (look at the warped website theyre on the lineup)
An the next Warped. And the next. And the next. Hell, they'd better headline 3 songs at Warped will never be enough
3:17 is that 12th from Mirai Nikki? JUSTICE!!!!
This song talked me down from the ledge
First time I heard this song I fell in love with it now that I have seen the music video... damn! I put the way up on my top song lists. The imagery really make this song phenomenal.
Looking forward to seeing them on warped
NEW FAVORITE BAND RIGHT HERE
hey donna park, i always listen to this song each and everyday i come here. Great band ;0
^^^ Lololl xD
But yeah this band is amazing, all of the members are really talented
some of my favourite bands are mutemath, funeral party, the colourist, shortstraw, mempis may fire and atlas just to name a few.
I see a Keywork tattoo..
damn!!! fucking LOVE these guys!
Every single one of their songs has so much meaning
There was a comment thread on here discussing the meaning of this song. I can see that it's deleted now. I just wanna say sorry to anyone who had read that (on the off-chance that any of you are reading this), because I was totally wrong about the meaning and I might have offended some people.
Now that I've listened to this song a million more times (because ITM is awesome), I understand that the song is about people being judgmental of others and holding them to ridiculous expectations.
So yeah, I don't know how to apologize for being stupid other than posting a new comment here hoping that some of the people who read the original comments of mine will see this one.
reminds me of the receiving end of sirens. i dig
The drums go insanely hard
Still listening in 2021!
this song in particular (not so much the others I've heard from them) reminds me of a slightly heavier bayside song, but that's just me. I really love the guitarwork in this track though. Such a talented band, idk why they haven't blown up yet.
Half the lyrics are wrong in terms of even being lyrics.. look them up on google, you'd find the difference even by singing to yourself using the ones in the description and the ones that sound in the video
"Failures"

You should pay for music and support bands anyway... they shouldn't have to prove to you not to steal their music
You're gonna be in warped tour 2014!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
For fans of I The Mighty, please lend your ears to our single - we promise you won't regret it ;)
So fucking awesome I can't even... This band is the ONLY reason I'm going to Warped this Year
Awakening(Satori) has shed light into a whole new realm of distinguished alternative rock! You guys are simply one of my favorite bands to date. Brent, your lyrics inspire my writing process as well as my life. Thanks for the music.
I so appreciate two things about this band...1) the key work tattoo and 2) the 5/4 time signature near the end
Honestly they were better than Coheed live... It might have just been all the neckbeards screaming all the coheed lyrics and drowning Claudio out though, lol
I think you guys don't sound so great, but as a huge coheed fan I'm glad someone in a band who loves Coheed is gonna get the opportunity to open for them, because that means you'll probably be giving 150% every night. Hopefully your live show is better than this.
That was amazing! But can anyone tell me the symbolism behind the eye people?
If I could think of a better word for someone who is racist but about disabilities I would call you that (ignorant is the best thing I can come up with). There's about 50 ways that he could do that. Braille's been around since the 1800's, for example
Not that I am hating, in fact, I love I the Mighty but whoever wrote those lyrics in the description should really check on them at least once more... it's a disgrace for such an epic song and band to have that bad of an editor on their partner's channel
Listen to this song 5 times and watch the video 3 times at least .... i didn't actually like it the first time i listen to it. then i tried to understand what it means. Wholly fuck.... this song is legitimately amazing.
OH MY FUCKING GOD HE HAS A COHEED AND CAMBRIA TATTOO. Okay, fangirl caps moment done. Fucking respect, I The Mighty is a great band and that support of Coheed just set me off. This band, forever.
Don't forget Arcane Roots, they are quite similar and sound really awesome too! But seriously this band have sooooooo much promise, ever since their EP came out i have loved them!
You know, you could have streamed the whole album on Alter The Press' website quite a few days before the album even came out. It's AMAZING though, hopefully I will be getting the album.
so glad this song is relatively long, hate it when I have a song I just want to play again and again and it's mega short so playing this song loads is grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat
Came here to check them since I'll be seeing them open for Coheed & Cambria next month.
1)Not bad. Not bad at all.
2) Vocalist has a keywork tattoo. Nice.
Yeah, I was at their show last night with Coheed. He referenced it and the crowd went nuts. Apparently it was his first tattoo and its his favorite band.
Drummer definitely isn't bad but I think that the music could be much more interesting if they got Saosin's drummer Alex Rodriguez to play for them.
is that a Coheed tattoo
blake miller Definitely a Coheed tattoo, symbol for the Keywork.
Yeah i knew what it was just wasnt sure. Glad to see even major bands love coheed too haha
Brent said in an interview that Coheed is his favorite band!
+blake miller They are now on tour with Coheed.
What a nice bass. Nearly everyone in this genre and related genres plays a Fender jazz. I like the Warwick.
They are on tour with Coheed & Cambria and Balance andComposure. I saw them Live at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom and they blew me away!
I was just introduced to this band by a dear friend of mine and I'm glad she told me about them. I can't wait to see them at Warped Tour 2014
I have a red Les Paul just like that! Holy shit I didn't realize!!!!!! Now I feel obliged to go play the fuck out of it. Inspiration.
I definitely see the coheed and cambria influence in this band not only the tattoo on his arm but the way his lyrics are expressed
They changed the thumbnail since I commented that... In some scenes the guy looks like Jeremy, the thumbnail was one of them scenes
I thought that this band is just another Djent crappy band that chugs on chorus and verses, but how wrong was I. Great band.
this song, and album, JUST GETS BETTER WITH EVERY LISTEN WTF!
If you haven't yet, look up Hands Like Houses! These guys, and HLH were so good live when they played with us last year.
Searching this band up since they'll be on tour with Coheed and Cambria and I see the keywork tattoo on his arm lol nice
He looks like if the guy of Epic Meal Time who eats with a knife and fork all the time and Jeremy McKinnon had a kid.
anyone else notice the guitarists forearm tattoo? its the symbol for the Keywork, a symbol used by Coheed and Cambria.
It would've been funny if the eyeball dudes started rocking out at the end.. great video though I love Satori
got to see the guys in Mobile, AL at the soul kitchen with COCA. see the guys if you can. they rock
Saw these guys last night in Columbus with Coheed. I found them very enjoyable I ended up buying their album.
AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I THE MIGHTY ...... I AM ECUADOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR SUDAMERICA
Yeah because braille would help him take the mouse click on the comment section and then hit post, right?
come pls to germany cologne you are pretty awesome guys, I pre orderd the bundle and im waiting on it :))
I see that Coheed tattoo...
My man.
Coheed is how I found out about this band originally. They toured together
@@Ursoc91 Dang. Bet that was amazing. I've known about these guys since Karma Never Sleeps EP. I ask myself everyday how they aren't bigger. But they can remain my little gem that I can recommend to people.
I the Mighty: OLD Saosin and OLD Circa Survive warped through an interdimensional portal of awesome.
This song and band is amazing!! The singer has Coheed & Cambria's band logo tattood on his arm!!!!! :D
i noticed that last night....at itm, balance and composure, and Coheed concert..fucking incredible
These guys will go far, they remind me of Pierce The Veil, Saosin and Kaddisfly all at the same time.
I thought he was saying "erections," but he's really saying "our actions." Makes more sense now.
Keywork tattoo, automatically in love with this band. No, that's not unreasonable. Shut up.
Holy hell, the lyrics are so cleverly written @_@.
Saosin meets I am abomination meets A Skylit Drive meets Scary Kids Scaring Kids.
I like it.
Seeing these guys in mobile tonight. Going for Coheed, but this should be a nice opener
I fucking love this band! Everything they put out is epic!!! Cant wait for this album
