Tombow did gift me some of these pens (others I purchased myself), but that didn't change the level of honesty in my review at all!

Ahh the Tombow. It was one of my first brush pens. Oh my goodness you have a lot though!
I have only like 4..😅 They cost $6 each where I am..
Great review, and nice to meet you!

Luckily Michaels usually has them on sale, which drops the price dramatically. Actually I started on a dual brush pen and loved it. I have a hard time with the hard tips!

You guys are so lucky in the US. We pay a small fortune in Aus for Tombows..around $5 a marker! Sets go for around $50 aud for the 10 packs. I try to shop savvy where I can and have picked up bargains on o/seas shopping sites for Tombows, Fudes, etc.

I actually use these for my bullet journal, and even tho I’m quite new with brushpens these are the easiest I’ve written with!😂

Thanks Amanda. I would agree re being a beginner. They are fantastic but they are a big nib and I wouldnt recommend spending the money straight off. I have just got some Kuretake Fudefiyoris today and I have so far been seriously impressed with those. I also agree re Tombow Fudenosuke, they are beautiful to use as a beginner, as are Pentel Fude markers. I have been on quite the journey the last few months with learning brush lettering and have found your videos and advice invaluable - thank you!

I bought my Tombow’s a year ago. Where I live in Australia - a regional town with limited supplies - and only have around half the collection.
I was just beginning my lettering journey and went off the recommendations online like you say in the video....so many people say these are great for beginners.
So I jumped in with both feet 🙄😕 I won’t make that mistake ever again.
Plus I’m left handed, which makes the juicier pens harder to use.
It wasn’t until I began my drill sheets that I realised my mistake 🤦🏻‍♀️ and went through 4 black pens while learning and perfecting my technique. Ugh.
So I agree wholeheartedly with your opinion that the Tombow Dual Brush Pens are not great beginner pens.
Once I started my own research this lead me to the Fude Soft and Hard tips which I only bought ONE of each 😂 and after several more drill sheets realised that I much prefer the hard tip thanks to its ease of control compared to the soft.
I’ve since bought one more pack and that is enough. Now I research everything thoroughly before purchase and look at reader comments on several social media platforms before I commit to purchasing ANYTHING! I don’t have a lot of money so my purchases need to be carefully thought out. I really thought the Dual Brush Pens were a safe purchase when I bought them. Just goes to show you can never relax with your own rules! I value your reviews highly so thank you for all the reviews you’ve done and continue to do. They are a huge help. ✨👌🏼

🖍 As a beginner, the basic strokes need to be practiced over and over, and I found that I can fit a lot more on the page using a smaller pen than using a bigger pen.

A small pen is definitely best for practicing if you're a beginner!

But definitely stay away from the Tombow Dual or other large-scale pens for your bujo!

The larger of the 2 Michaels near me carry the Tombow in sets and as open stock. I've bought a few open stock to fill in my Artistro set. I use them for painting, not lettering.

im using these in my hobonichi weeks (which is SMALL) but not for regular calligraphy, it's more of a thick-thin print style rather than cursive bc i find that cursive makes my writing VERY wide.
