Recently tried these out for the first time for comic illustration. They seem to be very durable under extensive use. I've colored almost 100 illustrations on mixed media paper and they are still going like brand new.
I have been able to blend my Tombows like Copics using Strathmore smooth Bristol paper for stamped images for card making, I use the colorless blender or the palest color to blend out. They also color and blend beautifully on Vellum! Love my Tombows!
Yeah, keep your eyes peeled for discounts. They sometimes go on sale at Michaels here in Canada. I recently picked up a bunch of sets for just $18.99 each (normally $35)! Then I discovered that the individual pens were 20% off at a local art shop. I now have all 108 colours! Absolutely in love with these markers. Totally worth the price!
I love these markers!! They’re really good for my illustrations, I use them to color my works a lot and they blend so nicely and stay so consistent! They’re not the cheapest by far and have certainly taken me a bit of time to collect a few base tones of all the colors I need. I’m very grateful the 15 marker packs were on sale for half off, cause goodness. Wouldn’t recommend going for every single tone, but definitely try them out if you can! I got the tropical, portrait (skin tone), and celebration packs and a few individual pens: for me those colors are a pretty good variety! I’ve got some really nice pinks and greens. However I am missing a lot of darker and purple tones, which is frustrating, but not unbearable, because they do blend well. They were on sale, but all around for what, around 50 bucks and I don’t have more then 1 purple or orange? That’s kinda eh. And if I didn’t have the sale it would be like 90 something bucks, and that’s not really cool. Regardless of that alone, they are pretty good pens, and I would not say the pens themselves are super super overpriced. You get a good, versatile pen/pens for a high price. I would say if you’re looking for specific tones and trying to keep it less expensive, get one (or maybe two or three packs if you have cash to burn) you really really like and get the other obscure essential colors you really really need individually. Keep the individually bought ones under 30 bucks and it’s like you’ve bought your own pack minus 5 or 6 markers. I have very shaky hands so sometimes I have difficulty with the brush work but all around these markers aren’t punishing since if you go over your mistakes quick enough it doesn’t show, which I think is one of the most appealing aspects of these. They’re incredibly clean to work with. The pigment is really brilliant for water based markers, and because they’re water based, they mix very very well with watercolor pencils! They don’t mix the best with alcohol based markers but they don’t look bad. However, I certainly wouldn’t suggest mixing them with traditional office supplies and mild liners, it looks very blotchy and messy. I recommend if you’re using these for illustrations to put down your color first on a clean sketch and then add the linework, because these do tend to fade the linework quite a bit, as do most markers.
I got 2 packs of six for about $10.00 each at Walmart, and for expensive they are...definitely worth it. I'm already obsessed with then pens!! Creative ideas come in mind. 🤩🤩
These pens are very good and popular water-based brush pens. These are not the cheapest. And these are commonly by modern calligraphy arts and also ,I think for so many journal enthusiasts.
Hey tombow!! I'm not able to find the set of 6 pastel pallete ones! (In india) neither on Amazon. The 10 pack is available but it's wayyy to expensive, please release them in india!!
We are only able to ship to the United States and Canada from our location. Tombow products are also available worldwide through different Tombow locations and distributors. You can find more information about the closest distributor in your area by visiting www.tombow.com/en/corporate/about/agency/
Thanks. I was looking for a more permanent solution and alcohol markers are not a solution. Not permanent enough. But I prefer watercolor paper because I use inks and acrylics so I guess the brush won’t survive that. Bummer 😞
I bought these in 2022 but just opened them today. I can't get anything to come out of them. What could be wrong? Do I press down or dip in water or are they useless now since I never opened right away?
I’ve just bought a set of these pens and I’m planning to use them for hand lettering and note taking! I just wanted to know how heavy the ink is and if they’re prone to go through paper? I’ll be using them in notebooks but I’m not sure how prone they are to bleed through onto the next page.
We recommend using a super smooth paper with our Dual Brush Pens! Our favorite for practice is marker paper or tracing paper; for blending is mix media; and for final pieces is Bristol. If using watercolor paper, we recommend hot press since it has the smoothest surface.

Is this true? I saw a comment by someone that said they had the original Tombows (can't remember where they said they were made) then they got a pack made in Tawain and said they were not as good?
For me, this doesn't apply to any Tombows. It might be old stock or defected item. If this is true, it might cause them to low stocks, but as you can observed, it's still going well.
I brought these thinking they were markers .. can I use these as alcohol markers or are these different and not used for coloring? I noticed the paper was beading up .. why was this happening ? I am using alcohol marker paper? TFS
These are our Dual Brush Pens and they ware water-based! They can be used for coloring, fine art, illustrations, doodling, journaling, hand lettering and more. We recommend using them on smooth surface art papers. For example, marker paper, tracing paper, smooth mixed media paper, and vellum paper work well. For printed worksheets, you can use HP Premium32 LaserJet paper. The water-based ink won’t bleed through most papers.
I purchased 6 sets and very disappointed that 9 markers are dried. They are not cheap I have tried to put them in water but no ink came out also seems like a colorless is added to every set not sure why you would need so many I will scribble the ones I bought on a palette and use with water until they dry out but won’t buy again sorry but I’ve has zigs for way over a year and they are still juicy

Tombow brush pens are really expensive, wish I could get some...
They’re not expensive! They’re good quality and worth the price. For one set is about $18. Really inexpensive and last a long time.
@@emilymnz I dont recommend using them on mix media paper they rip the paper way to much
@@emilymnz That's in dollars. They're probs from a different country, so it's expensive for them, it's literally sooooo expensive here in india.
These are on sale rn at michaels! Just bought a skin tone pack and the brights pack for 30 instead of almost 60!

I bought a dual brush water pen. How do I fill more water in it?
You need to try YUPO papers Oh My God....beyond your Imagination.....
Are creatoligy sketchbooks fine?
do they leave a water drop at the beginning or end? I rarely use water based markers bc they usually leave that water drop
They should not be leaving a water drop.
I've been using marker paper for these and it eats away at the paper especially when blending. I was trying to do a portrait with them.
Oh no, we are so sorry to hear that! For blending, we recommend trying mixed media paper!
Im planning on buying this.

What do normally use the bullet tip side for?
The fine tip is great for creating consistent lines and adding small details!
How can you use this lefthanded?
Yes, our Dual Brush Pens can be used by lefties!
@@TombowUSA is there a video of how to use it as a lefty? I've been told my holding position is wrong for a lefty
We have tons of great tips and tricks for lefties on our blog at Blog.TombowUSA.com!
Does someone know the difference between the white pack and the black pack? (In the packs of 10 colors)
The packaging is just different! Both sets feature our Dual Brush Pens in different colors!
here in Brazil those pens costs like gold
I know right! Why is it so expensive 🙄
Do they bleed through coloring books pages

So, I probably shouldn’t use watercolor paper because of the texture.
Funny stuff called public made art piece.
I have these they aren’t the best and they aren’t the worst but better markers are ohulu brush markers
