  • We have landed in our home away from home, Mexico and I must admit it is not the same way that we left it. Today we hang out with some locals, eat some great beef tacos and probe the ramifications of the Super Peso.

It's nice to see you back in Mexico! People in Facebook groups are complaining about the Super Peso and saying that people from the States will be moving back. Right now the peso is 16.71:1 USD and for me, it's still better than the USD and I'm happy for the Mexicans!

we Mexicans are yearning for gringos that feel that way to go back to their country. Specially in Mexico City, where they have created a gentrification mess (because they thought they could continue living like Kings and Queens) Lovely people like the Yarbros will always be welcome here.

Exactly! Good for our Mexican neighbors!
I was talking to an Uber driver from Mexico the other day and he was saying if he were thinking about leaving Mexico now, he wouldn't, because the country is doing well and the quality of life is better in his home town. Apart from the border towns with serious gang problems, Mexico is a very lovely place. 💕

How exciting! My husband retired at the end of May. We spent a month in the states saying our goodbyes to friends and family. We arrived in Guadalajara almost two weeks ago and are here for two more weeks. We will spend a month each in 5 other Mexican states.
This is our first stop on a 5-6, or more, travel adventure around the world. One of our goals, besides having tons of fun, is to figure out where we want to retire permanently.

A big part of the reason Mexico is getting stronger is that at these difficult and trying times, with the world coming out of COVID lockdowns and now with the Ucrania war that is effecting the economics in the world, Mexico has been blessed to have “AMLO “ Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador the greatest president in the history of Mexico. I’ve been following and observing him since he became president and I am completely blown away by how much one man can accomplish . I’m 60 yrs old and I’ve seen a lot in my life but I have never seen anyone like AMLO to me he’s somewhat of a magician who can see what’s coming because he’s all many step ahead of the rest a couple of examples how before the pandemic hit he had already started fixing all the broken and abandoned hospitals, a couple a years ago when the barrel of oil was literally worth nothing and everyone thought they should ditch the Petronas system and transition over to electrical cars AMLO went and bought deer park oil refinery in Houston Texas and a soon as he bought it the price of the barrel for oil shot up from 0 dollars to eventually go past the 100 dollars per barrel and how 4 yrs ago he began the construction of pacific to Atlantic Ocean trans corridor which will rival the Panama Canal but he’s going to install mega industrial and manufacturing plants all along the corridor which will be operating this year just in time to take a lot of the manufacturing business away from china, he somehow knew beforehand that there would be an economical war between USA and china and that Mexico could position itself to reap all the benefits of that fall out between those two countries and I could go on and on with these examples. AMLO the greatest president of Mexico history came at just the right time. The Most Highs timing is perfect.

Greetings from Arkansas, This is the time for Mexico to excel, I’m hoping the next Mexican president keeps pushing the great ideas of AMLO, to impulse Mexico to the place It is part of, The Leader. Our Culture it’s unique and it’s well represented by today’s president. AMLO sees Mexico as #1 in the world, and He’s not wrong. Let’s be respectful with other countries, but we need to take care of our own first. What an terrific job done by AMLO, politicizing the people of Mexico so the can understand, how to defend the Mexico from corrupt entities.🐅🐅🐅🐅

Essentially I think it’s due to the diligent management of the economy by Mexican president, mixed with opportunities from outside. AMLO did not get more debt; he is fighting corruption head on; he is exposing the dirty acts of blue collar political criminals; he is helping the poorest. He is investing in infrastructure, the youth, agriculture, the elder, security, healthcare, so on and so forth. That’s the foundation or underlying value of the SuperPeso.

Thanks for being and showing this powerful economy, in fact, with previous governments, whom over decades were the ones selling and giving away important industrial companies for their benefits, are now came to and end. Despite trade war, it shows with major investment in trains, oil refineries and foreign companies investment, now the people can have a decent life.

Good video guys. Just an FYI Tianges is like an outdoor swap meet or a farmers market if you will so that’s why the people are a little confused when you say Mercado they assume a grocery store. Also best way to save on FX is to get a service like Wise
You can purchase MX peso and load on a visa debit card and use anywhere Visa is accepted. They have mid market exchange rates with no FX fees. The one thing that could derail a strong peso is a recession in the US. Unfortunately, the majority of the economy is based on tourism so less people will travel which will effect the local economy. So what the lady said the dollar is stronger in Cancun because of more tourists more dollars. Interior in Mexico is more affordable for travel. Good luck guys in your travels

I moved to Puerto Vallarta March of 2023, and have been visiting there since 2016. I remember the beginning of the pandemic when $1 was about 20 pesos and I thought I was a big baller lol. I kept the conversion all up until this year when I noticed that no, 100 pesos didn't mean $5 USD anymore. I've been more aware of what I spend and try to go to the ATM only when the conversion is at it's possible highest. Can't complain though, I'm still spending less $$ then compared to living in the US.
