- Basia, where do you buy your gemstones?? I get this question a lot and I completely understand why. Sourcing gemstones can be a headache, with all of the shops and listings. How can you know which ones can be trusted? Which sellers are honest and which gems are genuine? I have a small series that is meant to help you navigate while buying gemstones online for your jewelry making, make sure you check it out! Today, however, I will share with you first video in the series of WHERE I buys my gemstones. Today;s video is about TURQUOISE! I share eight trusted sources, which I know are great. I hope it will make things much easier for you, having a place to start. These gemstone sellers and lapidary artists offer a large variety of turquoise and they should cover your needs. Also, relatively new and super genuine human, a lapidary artist named Bob Ganz (US) of Avaloncabochon, makes gorgeous sets, several pieces matched for multistone designs. He responds super fast, you get a tracking # fast and he's just....Integral (refreshing)! Hope that's helpful. ❤ And thank goodness most turquoise is not rare, there's mountains of it!! The good stuff is extra special. 😅😅😅😅❤❤❤❤ This is so helpful Basia, it's a jungle out there. You are a generous heart! ❤
In Australia the government is progressively shutting down Opal mining. They closed a major field called Mintabie, they have deemed most claims in Lightening Ridge invalid due to some technicality and they will not open up any more land for exploration. Like everything else in this country they seem hell bent on destroying the industries viability.

Definitely enjoy finding new sources for gems. This one in particular is very handy, since I’m planning to make my mom and friends a pendant with turquoise for helping during my work injury these last few months.
