Awesome riding, I enjoyed the commentary too! Man such gnarly terrain...compounded even more by some septic tank water....ewwww! Funny you guys mentioned Regina chains, I switched to a Regina chain (X-Ring) last year. I had been running Renthal chains and while they have been great as well, it seems like the Regina is even a bit better when it comes to wear resistance and I have had to adjust chain tension far less with the Regina so it has been stretching less as well. Thanks for posting these videos, Ill be sure to watch for new ones as they drop!

Thanks Adam! Appreciate the comment. If u watch our YZ125 jetting and 30 pro tip bike set up video, we talk about Regina and how Regina actually makes the chains for Renthal! BUT that doesnt mean they give Renthal the best or same quality that Regina branded chains are. Thanks for watching!

So, some history and trivia for you: The reason that the start is the way it is, and the reason for the gnarliness, is because it is a call-out to the famous (infamous) "Blackwater 100" (gotta look that up) races that were held in Davis WV. decades ago. The Blackwater was known as the absolute most difficult and grueling off-road race in North America. The start was set up on Main Street Davis, thus, there was only room for about 4 riders per row. The race was normally three laps about 30 - 35 miles each and normally took the top riders 3 hours to complete.
The promoters of GNCC Snowshoe decided that they wanted to bring back the Blackwater tradition and have the most difficult race of the series. They also decided to emulate the old traditional start set-up.

This race pays homage to the infamous "Blackwater 💯". It started in the town of Davis, WV and out through the wilds of the area that includes billions of rocks, endless mud, peat bogs, river crossings, big hills, the highway 93 river crossing (which looked like the ATV crowds in Howard's Hole on both days of racing ), the crazy moon rock section, and they were 25 mile laps and usually took around 4hrs+ to finish.

    • @LMActionsports

@@RyderSigety so if ypu are using a GoPro i have a GoPro 8, but they make if for the 9, 10, 11, and 12. Its called the "Media Mod". You take the battery door off and this cage slides around the whole outside of the GoPro and plugs into the USBC port and then you close the door on the other side and it locked on. It has a real good built-in microphone in that cage and you also have the option to plug in a wireless microphone receiver or plug in a lavalier microphone and run the cable up into your helmet. Since I had my GoPro mounted on the front of my chin bar on my helmet I just ran the wire underneath the front of the helmet and coiled up the excess cable up in the padding and then velcro the microphone right next to my mouth inside the chin bar. Now this media mod does make the GoPro not waterproof but it is water resistant and it will handle rain and mud. Just don't submerged it

Tell Dad that whole mountain is technically private property and they let the "no pit riding" slide a little bit since where people are staying is so spread out. Also, the mountains make cell service spotty and where Snowshoe is located is actually in a "radio free zone" to eliminate cellular and other electronic interference for the Green Bank Radio Telescope facility that isn't very far away. Worth visiting if you like space and science stuff.
