I have to be honest, I loved the Discovery show and watched every episode over the years, but I think I love these videos you guys are doing (and Otto) so much more. We really get to see more of what you do, why you do it, and how chaotic and rewarding a true homesteading lifestyle can be. As long as you want to post, I promise to be here watching. You guys are the bees knees.
People who ask about posing and hunting gathering just for UA-cam don’t know you and your family! Thank you for sharing your life, and we all admire you!!
You don't need to justify yourselves to/for anyone...but God. You be you. You live a Blessed and remarkable life. You are living a life many of us pray to have. Thank you for sharing yourselves. And we learn so much watching you
@@kilcher_homestead ritebackatya. Thanks for sharing and I mean that sincerely. This is a great place to come and think happy thoughts. I watched every one of ATLF and now you're all here .. happy days! Pete 🏴 much love y'all.
There are many of us good 'old boys & girls, that truly enjoy all your Kilcher clan's lifestyles... & ...we get it... keep on keepin' on !!! Don't worry 'bout the snowflakes or trolls
Wow, so glad I found this. I always watched the show and was sad it wasn't on anymore. Nothing good on TV anymore. I now watch more UA-cam than TV shows
I think I enjoy yours and your dad's UA-cam videos way more then The Last Frontier. You all seem way more relaxed and yourselves!! Thank you for taking the time to show us your real life !!
Those asking about needing all the salmon likely aren't even aware of how much meat they themselves eat in a year. So glad you are making videos now. I've missed the E&E clan as well as O&C!
I really really love watching you guys. Especially you too you’re authentic very happy couple raising your family authentically off the grid. and especially love watching Ivan with his intentive ways of making machinery like exit for example, that he grabber he invented with the clause with his brother that was really a good idea. Amazing. The ideas he comes up with my name is Rob. I’m from Delaware 65 years old and you guys are awesome.
This reminds ALL of us that some people have a Lot more Work and Effort involved to provide for our families. Thanks for showing us a different side of things👍🙏
Long time fan of the authenticity and down to earth Kilchers, Love watching the rustic reality they live and how well they not only survive but prosper, teaching generations of family the best way to live free the way that God plannedit,, 👍👍❤❤❤❤❤
This is an example of what real life should be and the reality of that is that u have to kill and harvest to eat. Snowflakes who just buy their food from a store will never understand this. Keep doing what u guys do and thanks for sharing the WHOLE process w us.
Most people probably have no idea how much better that chicken taste and how much healthier it is for you. All we get ( those that dont raise chickens) is the store bought injected mass produced kind. Some healthy l8ving for sure.
I really love your way of life. I love how you teach your children an honnest way to only take what you need food wise. Thank you Eivin and Eve bay Ingrid from the Netherlands Europe.
Thank you for being true and authentic. I really appreciate all your adventures and sharing real life. Wishing only the best and funnest life for you all.
Great job, love the plucking machine, what a great time saver. Awesome fix on the pipe, and please don't clean the workshop, you'll never find anything.😂❤
At the end of the day All that you guys are doing is feeding your family ! Look at how much food people waste that they buy at Supermarkets and throw away in the rubbish half of the food ! Don't give the. Negative people any Time ! Love your UA-cam Video content Keep it up
Don't worry about them we know why and any one who has remotely tried or even looked into off grid living know your not doing it for views . Keep it up just started watching your channel but watched the TV show with my mom lol love the authentic content.
Did the chick death pie need heat lamp by chance?. Ours down here in Northern California don’t get cold until our late fall so where they roost we use a heat lamp in a low roost, high roost is in box’s stuff those deep with straw but still use a lamp for winter it only gets in low 30s so not like your 20-30 below but our meat chicks are California adapted. Lol I learned to process by you guys!! Thank you for that!
We recently bought three acres of raw land. It has definitely been a reality check of how long it takes to start anything. If your taking any videos request. I would love a series of homesteading 101 please. 😊
This reminds me a bit of Emily from Bering sea . Her you tube vids are far superior to what i wanna watch . Yours as well , far better content . cheers
Back in my day, I hated the smell of the plucking chickens. It was every Sunday the least layer was dinner. We never grew just meat chickens, everyone was expected to work on the farm, including the chickens. We were Dairy Farmers. So watching your family is like visiting a part of my past. I really enjoy seeing your family and how you work and play together.
Really enjoy watching your videos on UA-cam thank you and your family. Really enjoy sharing you and your family life with us really like to see you do more work at your shop I really like watching you build things Thank you
Really enjoy all of your video's! I feel like I am part of your family! Started watching you on the History Channel. Love the life style you are living. What a great way to bring up your kids. Most of the kids I know of, seldom go outside, they are all glued to their devices as you would call them. They have no idea of how life truly works. Keep the video's coming, and keep up the good work!
A great video that truly shows authentic homestead / farm way of life. Mr. Jerry is a friend to all homesteaders lol. I have always hunted & fished. Gardened for several years. Meat chickens is something we have not done yet, but hope to someday. Thanks for being an encouragement to us!
I recently and still am rewatching all seasons of your TV show and then found you and Otto on UA-cam. Love all of it and it's been a lifesaver. I just bought your cookbook. I need to learn foraging and try fishing. But I made some homemade dough tonight and that worked. Being outdoors is everything.❤
Eve an Eiven , you two are amazing with you're ways of feeding your family and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the videos you share with us. I have learned so many things watching your videos. Lots of love from Iowa/Minnesota (on the border). God Bless you all!
I am so glad you guys have started posting regularly to youtube again! I also watched the tv series and fell in love with your family! Keep up the great work and stay safe!
Hey, I take real pleasure watching the ongoings at the Kilcher homestead, I am amazed at how big the kids are getting and how they help with daily chores. I almost want to be a part of the family, keep up the good work and videos, love you guys.
I so enjoy your original content. I grew up in North Dakota on a family farm in the 70's. Which means we did all the things your family does. I really enjoy how you both put family first. Thanks

Hi my grand father use to do that here in New Zealand and when we use to visit as kids we would help puck them ,he always put us to work lol and then he would take the chickens to the local tavern and raffle them off for beer money (he liked a beer old grandad) and bring nana what money was left they lived a good life .I must say home kill chooks are so much nicer than store brought people these days have know idea great vid thanks guys love watching
My family had a farm for meat, veggies and fruit for us. 44 fruit trees, 1/4 acre garden, a acre of lawn, a acre of pasture for a milk cow, a heifer and a steer and lots of birds for meat. On average every year we butchered about 100+ chicken meat birds plus many ducks, geese, turkeys as well a steer every 2-3 years and the heifer too. Big work produced by all that stuff but it was the best meat and produce imaginable. So I dig your operation there and I have zero issues with getting meat from the farm and wildlife too. >@^_*@
I ... Bro don't worry about what people think you and Eve know what it takes to got u and your kids through winter.... Do what u got to do.... Great food supply though
Evian could you explain what kind of soap and how long to soak the chicken before plucking? Also what you’re doing with the scissors after the soak.. Thanks Awesome content and channel.. Love y’all!
Just found you guys! I watched all your TV programs and am so delighted to see you all here on UA-cam. I have subscribed and will definitely follow you on UA-cam regularly- plus, I like your videos much more than the TV program as I feel you all were given a lot of pressure to “perform” & “ entertain”!!!
I grew up oldest of 9 children we always had a garden and raised animals. So love to watching your family do the hard work the only way to get everything done is to learn how to make quick and safe work of it because it seems most times their is just never all the time you need.
Eivan and Eve, I can remember the time that Eivan made a chicken feather removal from a drill so you would not have to remove the feathers by hand, times have changed. Great video. Sparrow making cookies at the end. David B.,Utah. 🐓🐓🐕🐕💞💞🇺🇲❤❤❤.
Don't get baited in by UA-cam trolls and snowflakes. Love your show Love your way of life keep up the great job.
Trolls and snowflakes are the same people who are pro abortion while protecting animals rights
