Dude.... lock screen widgets was first on Android a while ago...
The way it’s implemented and how it looks. They changed how you do it and how it looks overall. So you think they grabbed any inspiration from another company ?
Then maybe you should say they stole the way it looked. Not say that they copied the implementation of locksscreen widget t@@Techninjaspeaks
The zoom helped me see signs before i got to them. As a truck driver going the wrong way can be devastating
ANDROID BEEN HAD WIDGETS WAAAYYYYY BEFORE APPLE
Why to get rid of 100x, even if its not good quality, its fun to use and gives surprising results at times? No logic at all
Yes, for pros, 100X is useless, but for some, it may have value. Though from a pure quality perspective, it is awful above 30X, and 100X is not really for sharing.
@@andyH_England Yes not for sharing anywhere, it's fun to use. Phones should be about fun as well and it's not just sharing sharing. Smartphones have been almost boring these days
I'm upgrading from S21 Ultra (Exynos version).
I've never owned a Snapdragon phone being in Europe tbh.
So it should feel like a big upgrade.
I never really felt the need to upgrade because a lot of things were not changed hardware wise but this one with a flat, 1100nits extra, anti reflective, LTPO 4.0 display, faster UFS 4.0 vs 3.2, SD 8 Gen 3, integrated S Pen, better camera hardware, 20 Watt faster charging, better speakers & microphones, smaller punch hole cutout, boxier design, better 8K in 30fps, better stabalization, 4K 120fps, new telephoto sensor, better software optimizations, better cooling/fans, 7 years of updates and all new AI features makes it well worth the upgrade.
I bought the S24 Ultra from official Samsung site with discount codes & trade in deals. Very good price for a pre order device & I'm happy with my purchase.
Just can't wait to finally receive it.
Sounds like you are going to regret the purchase next year when Samsung will bring the real new changes to the s25U. The S21U is still more than good enough.
@@BaSiC47 I might, but tbh the only real change they can bring is a bigger camera sensor & maybe 144hz refresh rate. If I feel like it's a big difference, I can always trade this S24 Ultra in & pay a little extra to get it.
I doubt it will be a huge difference to make me wanna do that though.
And yes, I agree. I could've easily waited another year with the S21 Ultra, especially considering it had one more major android update (android 15) but the battery life was very poor, didn't even last me a full day. Some days I had to even charge it twice. I had been using the hell out of that phone so the battery was barely surviving. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have upgraded.
This still feels like a huge upgrade to me though.
@@paiman_ That’s ok and it’s your money after all. But you can apply the same logic to the S24 Ultra. The battery will degrade faster than the phone will run out of updates. I didn’t like the pale colors of the new screen in direct comparison and this is why I kept my S21 Ultra. The colors looked very washed out.
@@BaSiC47 You have a good point. Unless they offer battery exchange, the 7 years updates doesn't mean much since its a very long time to own a phone for me at least.
I will say this though, the dull colours are not a hardware issue because the regular S24 & S24+ also have this issue & they don't have the anti reflective screen.
Samsung claims on their official website that S24 Ultra is 100% DCIP-3 which is the same as the previous phones.
It's a software bug that doesn't change the colour palate from sRGB (dull colours in "Natural" mode) to DCIP-3 (Vivid mode).
They're aware of this issue & are apparently working on a software update to fix it. My guess is they'll fix it with the February patch/update.
Keep in mind, the phone has not even been released globally yet, so we are using pre released software.
So I wouldn't worry about the dull colours (I also have dull colours on my one).
Well, I hope I'm right about this otherwise if it's a hardware issue, Samsung has to do something about it since I don't really like "Natural" colours.
Man can't agree more, the subtle changes to the build are very welcomed. That display is so crispy and bright. I absolutely need the AI summarization 😆 will help with my rambling as well. Happy to hear the translation works, looking to test that out. Great video as always👊🏼
How come no one is talking about the dull colours of the s24 ultra????
Space zoom is great. To me it is usable. Love being able to zoom in far.
Exactly what’s he talking lol I don’t think it’s meant for picture quality
Hey - I'm hoping you can help - I've upgraded to this phone and ever since the pokemon go app has been crashing like crazy... I've checked all the usual things - data usage and battery settings in the phone and on the app... I've uninstalled and reinstalled - All my settings appear to be the same as on my last samsung and I've tried a couple of things mentioned on reddit but I'm still getting very frequent crashes... Have you got any ideas at all what could be causing this issue?
I'd consider you a legend for the rest of my days if you could help
Great review, your lock screen wallpaper please
Great video!
My man’s!
I have the s22 ultra. Do you think I should just wait for the updates or upgrade to the s24 ultra?
Wait. It is quite a lot fatter than the s21/s22 ultra.
The anti-reflective display looks amazing, but of course putting on a screen protectors kind of negates this feature, unfortunately. I am very disappointed that they took away the Samsung version of swipe gestures and the option to hide the gesture pill(s) - they are an unnecessary use of space and will cause burn-in over time.
Also, I guess in a way the lock screen widgets are back as a result of Apple adding them, but older versions of Android had these. They removed them for security concerns back then I believe. Samsung has had them in some capacity for years still, it's just that you had to tap the clock to see them. Ultimately it kind of looks cool but functionally, it's less relevant to me.
What? Really? They took away the option to hide gesture bar? I always hide it for more screen space & don't need it.
Why did they have to remove the option? Doesn't make sense to me. I really don't like those bars. I hope they bring it back with a software update.
@@paiman_ yeah, I can't link it but you can search for the story. probably due to Circle to Search. but even if you turn that feature off, you can't hide the nav bar so... that's strange. Hopefully they add it to good lock or something
3:32 uhm NO. don't restrict software features for new phones if older phones have no problems. don't force people to buy a new phone just because of an artificial restriction of new features. you say IN THE SAME VIDEO "the consumers win" about apple and Samsung copying each in introducing new features and now this? please more self awareness
I have always loved the S series and for me im on the fence if i upgrade. I currently have the S23 ultra and i love it but for me im still between the S24 Ultra and the OnePlus 12 is catching my eye... The S24 Ultra's flatter screen and more square look i find familiar in a good way but also a bad way as the phone now reminds me more of a Galaxy Note10 which throws me off a bit cause i feel like im downgrading visually rather than upgrading, theres so much you can do with the exterior i guess but theres always room to explore.
Interesting take. Perception matters a lot and how it feels in the hand is important.
@@Techninjaspeaks Very true which is why i may just go into a Tmobile store and tinker with the s24 ultra a bit and see what ibcan conclude.
I love the sound and the build. Screen is not bad, but s21u screen was also very good
I am facing display issues in Samsung S24 ultra. Not clear and brighter display in sunlight. May i know why?
It’s weird that all this reviewers are saying the screen is great. I went to buy the S24 Ultra and before doing so i wanted to see it in real life. And boy oh boy the display looked really bad.
So you have got the firmware update ? Surely you're not doing this review on the beta firmware ? Say it isn't so !
Not all AI features are going to trickle down to the S23
Hmmm.. Makes sense.
Maybe some of them require hardware/processing power that is unique to SD 8 Gen 3.

Didn't Jellybean have lock screen widgets?

This phone in titanium with the new tacoma 2024 sr single cab in white 😮💨
Glad to see you're using Samsung Messages. Anything new there?
That’s the only way to get the translations with text messages, it’s not a big deal to me, but I like to review units the way that they’re sent before I fully customize it
Ummm they should never get rid of space zoom I don’t think it’s meant for picture quality it’s meant to see things far away
Hello Hello 😢 how is everyone getting there phones early I ordered on the pre-order day the 17th and it's say delivery by the 31 😢
Whats up brodie. I ordered mines last wk and still waiting here in Chicago. I ordered the Light Blue S24 Ultra 1TB. Traded my Zfold4 in for it.
In the UK, most people are getting them today, including me.
@@JohnSmith-ef8nr Very nice
@Sai-xc8ij that's exactly what I ordered Bro the titanium Blue 1tb
Got it offline yesterday in India, the day before online shipment starts. Atleast here in India, offline s the place to get Samsung flagships for the better price and speedy delivery
S24 plus feels 10x better in your hand
I've been upgrading each year for a very long time and the phone is always great, no news there. I'm good with the flat display but I do use a lot the edge panel and with this flat display I find it a little harder to access it. Specially after adding a case. No big deal though .
Dude, you didn't even do a review on the S23 Ultra 😢
How come none of the influencers that I watch on UA-cam, That review the S24, Don't mention having to pay for the AI features in 2025???
But is there any real difference to make you upgrade ? The square feel, brighter screen, AI to make artificial images, but only for so long then you pay? I don't believe the new expense is worth it, a phone is a phone, all the extras are extras you may or may not use. Think before you buy, do you really need those extras or just a phone, camera & games playing machine. So far not impressed. Titanium so what ! Squarer so what !. I will just upgrade to the 23 ultra from my 21 ultra now my contracts finished.
Good video, my #1 positive is it isn't part of the Apple cult-ecosystem lol
Lol - Samsung has an ecosystem too
@@Techninjaspeaks not a cult one
Wrong take on Space Zoom, though I never take an opinion too seriously when it starts with "gimmick".
Space zoom is ok, why get rid of it? Big thumbs down for your opinion
I agree, no real reason to upgrade from the s23u.
Hmm did u pay for yours,? I don't like paying for AI....rotten move Samsung......keeping my 23U
iPhone ❤❤❤
" feed my pet rock" lmao
Had to think of things haha
And AI being free only for the first year
Almost 2 years...end of 2025.
Also, they didn't say that it will definitely cost, but they have left as am option.
@@VetIntel Galaxy AI is powered by Google. Samsung ditched its own AI model, so it had to pay Google to use the LLM and AI cloud. It is unrealistic to think Samsung will continue to pay hundreds of millions to Google, so a subscription is almost a certainty.
@@andyH_England have you seen the agreements?
Freakiest hand I've ever seen
Yeah, I have a hard time gripping a club with this many thumbs

MAN YOU REVIEWERS SHOULD NOT BE ALOWED TO KEEP THE PHONES AFTER LAUNCH DAY.....
WHY NOT?
I love the curved edges and i know im not in the minority. But im welcome to change so lets see in a week when i get my hands on mine,
