This is probably the only reaction of this performance I’ve seen that is so overly and unfairly critical. We don’t get that much of this type of music here in Europe so it doesn’t sound that generic to us. For you to say that this is too sexualised is preposterous! She’s covered head to toe! The choreography has its sexy moments but please... have we watched the same video? In the same breath you love male dancer’s shirts hmmm the non existing ones. I guess a woman can never win. And can we talk about the fact that is her debut and that she killed it vocally while slaying the choreography not mentioning the charisma, facial expressions and staging. Calling it boring and running out of gas is a crime. I get this doesn’t need to appeal to everyone but some objectivism would be appreciated that’s why I’m not subscribing

They did say her performance was the best bit about the song. They then went on to criticise the song itself. The song isn't very good. No one in the fandom rated it before Channel did it live. She is the best part of this song, the staging and choreography are also terrific. The song itself mediocre at best, and they are musicians. They are judging the song for the most part. Not her performance.

I've observed jury voting and what seems to matter most to them is song composition, everything else can boost the songs points or decrease them, but only to a certain degree. How many times have you disagreed with the juries? How many times has the performance been amazing, but the jury score was relatively low, how many times have the vocals been amazing but the jury score low? Or the performance a bit naff but the juries scored it high anyway? Or the vocals weren't the best but the juries scored it higher than those with better vocals?

Televoters votes based on whatever, and depending on their mood, although if the vocals are bad they tend not to vote for it. Spain should get a great televote. Chanel is amazing, charismatic, brilliant dancer and is able to sing well whilst doing it. But dont expect her to do as well as Cyprus 2018 re juries. Cyprus had a better starting point due to having better song composition

I don't usually comment, but after watching this video I couldn't resist. First of all, it's funny how you try to justify your rude comments by saying that they have nothing to do with the country but with the song, although you have to remember that music is closely related to culture... Besides, you can't judge what a woman can do on stage or how she should dress. Things can be said in many ways. I have definitely wasted my time watching rude and arrogant people.

A group of guys that don't like dance music, criticising a dance music performance... How could we expect a different outcome.
Everyone is free to like or dislike anything, but you can always be constructive when providing feedback.
It could have been better if you would have approached your views from: "we don't enjoy dance music, but leaving that aside, we are going to talk about the things that we like and appreciate from this performance. And this is how we think it could be better in the grand final", but we got none of that. No positives. That is why people that enjoyed Chanel's performance were put off by this video, me included.
You said that Chanel lacks vocal range and she is compensating with a sexy outfit. You don't like the outfit because it is... too provocative? But did you like Eleni Foureira's outfit? (Cause you compliment her a few times.) And at the same time you are complementing the male dancers' outfit. Where is this prejudice coming from?
At no point you mention that she is dancing her booty off for 3 minutes without being out of breath, or sounding sharp or pitchy. But then you mention that she sounds tired by the end. (She doesn't).
This performance is anything but boring, but you found it boring even though Eurovision has never seen a choreography of the caliber of this performance, not even Eleni Foureira's Fuego comes close to this.

About the second girls opinion, saying that ‘the stage presence and the dancing were the best part of the song, which shouldn’t be the case’, I will like to offer a reflexion on how Eurovision has traditionally worked… The thing is that, for most of the viewers, the final contest was the first time they had ever listened to the whole set of songs. (Now it is, maybe, slightly different because of the internet). But, generally, in order to win you needed:
1. A song that people like the first time they listen to it (a song that grows on you, the more times you listen to it, doesn’t make the cut)
2. A performance that people can remember after listening to 40 different songs and that stands up between them.
That’s why delivering an outstanding performance is crucial for winning Eurovision. Love from Spain 🇪🇸
You can like it, or not. But what she did on the stage is so complicated. Singing and dancing (this way) at the same time... It's not for everyone. Eleni is amazing. Chanel is amazing too. But they performances are different. Both are singing and dancing, but that's all. Not every singer that sings ballads have the same performance (and we don't compare them all the time). But thanks for reacting ! We're so proud of Chanel. She's a hardworker.

First the performance of Chanel was perfect. From start to finish it was a spectacle to watch. Remember that dancing and singing is very difficult at the same time and she made it seem like something very normal. I loved the show. We can't all have the same taste when it comes to music, but your comments were extremely rude and showed little respect for the artist. You sat there like a bunch of spoiled toddlers who didn't get their way and so comment on everything. You did not comment on the entire performance, what you were good at was to bash a strong woman in my eyes because of her choice of clothing. Maybe you should have read more before commenting on that. In her clothing you could see references to Spanish culture. The Bolero jacket for example. Fortunately, the reactions show that a lot of people disagree with you. Take a look at yourself first before you kick others into the ground. And leave out your own unvarnished opinion if you have nothing better to say. By the way, Spain should have won the Eurovision 2022. But that is my opinion. Good luck with your UA-cam channel. It gives me the feeling that every year there are countries presenting ballads and absolutely nothing happens but then you see an empowered woman singing and dancing at the same time and you start comparing them... Just add 1 thing, because all the comments have already said enough about your reaction, sometimes I think that there are women, especially lesbians, who have a bad concept of feminism, judge another for their appearance, for having a different opinion or like different activities (pageants for example). I am a feminist and I believe in gender equality, where a woman can dress as she wants, wear makeup as she wants and fuck whoever she wants without being judged, here I see a strong woman, comfortable with her body, a very hard performance with a lot of work but you only see, she is being "Sexualized".

The lady on the left said very clearly she's not particularly keen on this type of singing & dancing songs although Foureira's performance elevated it. And Chanel's amazing performance does the same with "SloMo". The guy on the right also says Chanel is too good for "SloMo", which is in fact another reggaeton song like many others we've heard for the last 5 years. Musically, it's nothing special. The problem is the song, not the performer and Eurovision is a SONG contest.

Well, besides the Czech Republic I haven’t been very enthusiastic about the other entries you have covered so far. But this I love.
It was my preferred song when they were all released and went straight on my playlists then. That this performance then turned out to be fantastic is just a bonus.
Great choreography very well executed and a surprisingly stable vocal. Especially the runs after the dance break. So I don’t know what a lot of people are on about. It’s a great song. And frankly I felt the same way about Fuego. Before I saw her live.

Parece q sigue siendo sucio que una mujer muestre su sensualidad y feminidad en una puesta en escena, se sexualiza y banaliza, no veo q tiene de malo, es parte de la fuerza de este tema, puede q no sea una canción y voz destacable pero canta bien, afina, sincroniza, baila a la vez, y con nivel pro, lo q hace q se compensen unas cosas con otras y me parece una actuación digna de quedar entre los cincos primeros puestos. Este jurado puede q no lo entienda por no ser latino, en cualquier caso lo que no me gusta de ellos, más q sus opiniones es su actitud, van muy de sobrados, me parecen muy juiciosos y fríos, sin tacto o consideración, pero es solo mi impresión.

When we talk about Euro vision in general, we are looking into a catchy tune, or a melody that remain in our heart. This year I only have that feeling with Armenia and Spain.
Both songs catch your eye for a good melody (Rosa) and the hooks of Chanel. I don't agree with the boredom there, and the votes were very clear about it.
There is not a second lost, nor in the lyrics or performance wise.
Is a change for Spain entry, to feature latin-dance flavour, and a lyric with a certain "spanglish" feeling, which is sexy and fun.
I had to stop watching this video in the middle of boredom...

Channel was absolutely perfect and her performance in the final was mesmerizing and amazing. She can sing, she has charisma, smiles, she can dance, she has energy, confidence.. I am a woman and Im proud of her performance, and the rest of dancers were fantastic.
I mean, they can't blame those juries, like Chanel basically had Leroy as their Producer and songwriter and then there's Kyle Hanagami as her choreographer/manger/everything, which is the world's most sought after choreographer. If Chanel did not represent Spain, I don't think Spain would reach as high as Chanel did.

I understand that you dislike Latin music and you’re not that into it, but the performance was great, dancing and singing at the same time is what makes Chanel very special (that didn’t happen with Eleni, she was left out of breath at the end of the performance), and the outfit is really very nice and modern. Also, I am really impressed that you ladies can make such bad comments about other women enyoing the stage and doing her job. It’s really archaic from you, and you shouldn’t do it. You can dislike the performance, but should be careful with what you say....

weirdest reaction i have seen for this outstanding performance - are you sure you watched the right thing the right way? I could watch only 7 mins of the reaction and i am like ''huhh whaaaa...what are these people talking about''. You can straight away pick up you words for this particular performance cause it was PHENOMENAL and not like ''pull'' your words by hardcore thinking whether you liked it or not. Her vocals despite the dance moves, the dance break(which is NOT a CLASSIC in most of the songs, especially from 2022 ESC - when did you last see a singer perform dance moves like that lol?!), her overall presence on the stage - well there is a WHOLE package there, and i am very happy how she delivered it in the Grand Final , absolute stunner!!!
