Thank you for filming this...I will greatly miss Tropicana Las Vegas. So much love that will last throughout my memory lifetime. Tropicana became a staple to visit when we learned of the strip when our Vegas reign began about 1998(the Boardwalk Casino was still there but was closing had a roller coaster like NYNY). We started at Palace Station stayed there for 2 years then started on the strip at MGM we learned of Tropicana by going down Tropicana Avenue on our first visit now that Im starting to remember then as time went on we consistently kept up our visits was originally coming into town for the Monster Truck Finals, our first encounter inside was eating dinner at the Steakhouse that was int there I tricked my husband at time we were not married it was the start of our annual date to Vegas he always asked me if I wanted to go,. Steakhouse I cant recall the name right now but we happen to go it was in March between 1999-2000 on their last night of business; we went to the Finals for years then we transitioned over from the Monster Truck Finals to our pyrotechnic conventions which to today we still fly into Vegas for. We married in 2020 Tropicana Las Vegas helped me with my photo backgrounds I had made for our wedding reception I handled everything by telephone and Tropicana Fedex and Bell Desk took care of me, they made sure I had everything I needed.Their great expertise and helping me calm down cause I was so nervous about our Wedding ceremony, why I was nervous weird I say Ive been with my husband before we married 20 years so not like I didnt know him. It is 4 years this year since we married and we married on leap day in 2020 so this leap year 2024 is technically our 1st anniversary and we did an Anniversary trip this year to reminisce so many happy tears flowing. I will miss you Tropicana Las Vegas and will never forget you. Thank you SightseeingSally for posting this. Good segment. Take care💌
very sad, to build a baseball stadium welfare program for a billionaire.
They tried it here in Kansas City, MO, but, the taxpayers voted it down.
Sally looking great in the opening scene
She always does!
Thanks. I didn't know they were doing that. I remember when they tore down The Desert Inn and The Stardust and all the other classic casinos. Old Vegas was the best.
Thanks for doing a fun coverage of Tropicana🌴! How much did Marty win to-bail-you-out lol?
Hi, Sally. Thank you for your video. Have a good week. ❤
It hurts me to see history being torn down.
Another old timer gone. Although Vegas isn’t like it used to be. Smells of pee, puke and full of people living on the streets. So sad. Used to be a fun place. You either loved it or hated it. Either way it was one place you needed to experience at least once!
Great vid Sally and Marty
Loved this!
You are an awesome team!!
((Sally&Marty))
Thanks Bonnie 🥰
@SightseeingSally
You're welcome,Beautiful Friend! ⚘️
Like the old Vegas ! But I don't like way it is now !
Same here!
Have great memories going to bowling tournament's & playing the slot machine ! I think its very sad to shut this casino down & build a baseball stadium !
I’ll bet the traffic around there will be a Freddy Krueger kind of nightmare on game days.
thank the Mob for its success.
In 1974 my aunt Anna mae worked at Tropicana and well yes many good times so I remember graduating marine corp in san diego they picked me up and I was surprised my uncle was the manager of the castaways casino then at Tropicana harry James band was playing too many memories with the then the fire at mgm hotel and casino they lived two blocks away huge news story oh sorry 😂thank you both for sharing this actually being able to be there amazing content thanks for sharing this story
I had seen on the news that the casinos was closing. Thanks for a up close look.
Do I have to send a sympathy card?
The end of an era. We shall see what they build in it's place. I love ❤️ this video!😊❤
WELCOME TO LOST WAGES 😅
It's sad that so many of the classic landmarks have disappeared from the strip. 😢
all of them
Heard they were doing that. Old Bugsy is probable rolling in his grave. Happy to see you from Lake Havasu, AZ.😊
I was enjoying Meandering Marty's game playing! 😂 But it looked like you two called it a night before the 3am bell! It's okay if you called it a night...but let us know, if possible!
I did a fiberoptic retrofit in this wonderful place in 2017. Was lucky enough to see the bowels of the building then. Tons of history.
Love you guys so honest your the real deal ❤️
I love Marty's random facts about old technology and infrastructure.
Sally , I see that you are a “day person”, I’m 100% a night person, I’m still wide awake @ 3A.M., till whenever it’s in my blood, most of my family were night people. Great to see you and Marty in Fabulous Las Vegas, I haven’t been there since 1991, i can’t imagine all the changes that took place! It used to be a cheaper vacation back than, because they wanted you spend $ on Gambling, ha, not anymore, it’s super expensive now! Hope y’all had a great time, Happy Trails!
So sad. Can’t even imagine the congestion on that corner when a baseball stadium is opened. Can’t move now through all of the people. What are they thinking?
I bought a light fixture featuring all of the long gone Casinos, it spins around featuring a montage of the old casinos, it’s pretty cool, and I’m NOT a Gambler, one Vice that I don’t have, haha!
Tear down a classic one-of-a-kind resort hotel to put up an MLB stadium ? More proof that society has lost its way.
The classic hotels were the best. Closing them, in my opinion is a big mistake.
Thanks for this one. The Tropicana has memories for a lot of us. Time to move forward I guess. 😊
They should keep the Tropicana open for its retro value. But I am sure that the land under it is worth a fortune.
Was a cool looking place on the inside. Vegas is one of those places I need to checkout once. Hope the current adventure is going well. Thanks for the video. :)
the hotel was dirty, they did not invest money in renovations that had been needed for many years. I don't feel sorry for them
you guys are such good people, and love your videos, have fun !
Marty is just like me, CHEAP!
When you vote for crap, crap comes.
Las Vegas is the most unreal place on earth!
My best luck was at Harrah’s.
Thanks for the adventure
That hotel is called the Cecil Hotel and one of the UA-camrs I follow is Peet Montzingo, he lives directly across the street from it and has many of his videos on it. Also, Marty, that rumor about sitting too close to a TV is not necessarily true. When I finally got my glasses in 6th grade I was already past 20/100 and my mom asked the optometrist if my eyesight was that bad because I had always sat too close to the TV and he said "No, she probably sat too close to the TV because she couldn't see clearly, she has probably had poor eyesight for many years." I'm the middle child, and the only reason I went to the eye doctor is that I got in trouble in 6th grade Science because I would doze off while my monotone boring teacher would talk, and my excuse was I couldn't see the board anyway and her voice put me to sleep.
It’s in LA correct?
I got glasses in 6th grade, too!
@@SightseeingSally yes, and isn't 6th grade the absolute best time to get glasses? As if I wasn't nerdy enough with my buck teeth (got braces my freshman year of H.S.) and my thick black unibrow. lol
One of your best!
Sounds to me like Sally enjoys watching 'Ghost Adventures' with Zak Baggins. I think that hotel where the asian girl was found dead in the roof water tank was called the Drake Hotel, but I'm not certain. I subscribed, and always enjoy your videos.
I thought it was The Cecil but now I’m not sure. And yes, that is the story I was referring to. We watched a Netflix documentary on it.
@@SightseeingSally You are correct, it was the Cecil. Sorry!
Hey guys, That's Heavy and Far Out there. Get a souvenir!♥️♣️♦️♠️
The Hotel you were talking about in California is the Cecel Hotel
Yes! That’s it.
Good tour!
🙂👍♥️♥️⚘️⚘️
Very nice video... thanks guys !!😶
I can’t believe you guys got to be there! I wanted to go.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Tropicana for the Tropical climate!
I worked in room service then the sports book in 1989 at the Trop. My wife and I honeymooned there in 1991.
Sounds like you have some fond memories of the Tropicana. Thanks for sharing!
I'd liked to been the last to book a room at the Tropicana just to be able to say I was one of the last to stay there but I'm cheap too.
Thanks Sally, Thanks Marty!
Stayin tuned! 👍🤠
Fantastic, thank you John!
Hello Sally and Marty from Longview Texas.
Hello from Longview Texas, As usual I see you are first to comment. Thanks!!!
I'm in Vegas too!
Did you stop by the Tropicana?
@@SightseeingSally yes a couple of days ago. Just rode the high roller and was at Linq. Heading back to Orange County CA tomorrow
Sally, thanks for the wonderful, thank you card!
You are so welcome 😊 Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks!
You’re welcome 😉 and thank you! I feel better now about losing lol
@@SightseeingSally I believe y'all have talked to some friends of mine from pin in the atlas. I'm in Lake Havasu City, AZ. If y'all ever get this way, stop in and say howdy. They know how to get me. Y'all be cool 😎
