ALWAYS document these kind of field repairs for them and chart your 15 minute blocks and repair materials, even tape, when you're working on someone else's equipment.
He rented it for the season.
@@OOpSjm no rep take 15 min for MF or CS, or anny other
A tip for checking seed drop, tie up a closing wheel with a ratchet strap for the few feet before your overlap, then you can look right in the seed trench and see exactly what’s going on without digging
Impressed that you guys can figure out how to fix pretty much anything to get the task done! Inspiring!
I loved the explanation of how the seed bin can hit the ground break the bottom of and flipp over into the gravel. I know because Cooper Did it!!!
Crazy to see Cole having some of the same issues the Millennial Farmer is having. Technology and farming are incredible.
I thought the same. 😬
Technology isn’t the problem. It’s the small electronics and all the software
@@lusurama5080 am I missing some sarcasm here? Is small electronics and software not technology? 🤷🏻♂️
@@lusurama5080 That IS the technology, herp derp.
Must be a john deere thing lol
Whatever happened to the days of emptying the seed hopper, putting the right seed plate, adjusting the sprockets , filling the seed, sock it into the ground and go to plamt'en. Ahhh the good old days. Really, today's farmers are the best, love the videos.
👍👍🚜
I know I might not have this right as I'm British and a farmer but I thought a touchdown was 6 points with either an extra kick gaining an extra point to make the usual 7 or they could go for a 2 point conversion by crossing the goal line into the end zone.
Your exactly right
You are the most health-conscious farmer I am aware of. Kudos to you!!
Hey Cole I really enjoy watching your videos and how much you're family work together to accomplish your goals im gonna keep watching as long as I am able to I was diagnosed with dementia two weeks ago and all the farmers who do UA-cam mean a lot to me it gives me such enjoyment keep me in your prayers thank you
Bless you.
Thank you so very much
Praying for you, James, from California
Thank you so very much
A touchdown in American football counts for 6 points! The successful extra point adds 1 equaling 7.
You are the only person I’ve ever seen run a high speed exact emerge at 3-4 mph. You can get 6-9 out of it easily
we’ve been running two 24 row deere planters forever, and we run the newest and latest, you had more trouble in one day than we had in 30 years, would never think of buying any other brand
All the hard work making the inside of the shop walls look good paid off as it looks like a new building!!
Lots of things going on. Hate that so many things have issues. Y’all work so hRd❤❤❤❤
I thought the Cornstars had a saying:
"If it ain't red, keep it in the shed."
He explained in the other video, it's sort of an experiment for a reason, and I believe it is sort of a renting thing
Nothin' wrong with tryna' get a green (🦌) machine runnin' an' jumpin' in a field....just sayin'
82-88 percent singularity vs 99.7 to 99.9 singularity is thousand of dollars. That white planter they have been using behind the case 240 is trash in comparison to the Deere.
With all due respect that white planter is junk compared to the Deere planter
I'm sure they'll go back to saying that before this season is over😢😂
God bless your family! Thank you for sharing!
Cole your dad is now my new hero, 7 point touchdown I love it. I never was a sports guy.
Wow! Farm equipment has come along ways since I was on a tractor. Looks like it can save a lot of time if it is well maintained even though it is more complicated that the equipment I was on that looking that tractor and seeder make me feel like I came from the stone age. 😄
Cole great job on getting the planters figured out. Things can be difficult
Unbelievable how complex all that ag equipment has gotten.
Yup it what pissed me off about it. Wanna know something, John Deere is endless money-pit by adding all that stupid luxury electronic stuff that will break all the time. Something break, you buy it, break again you buy repeating 🔁. Probably the worst commercial mower ever use right and don’t own it but work for company. 😅
Seen some folks saying Destornillador for screwdriver and that’s what google says, but you’ll get laughed at by Hispanic folks😅. Flathead is desarmador de paleta and Philips is desarmador de cruz. From a fellow Hispanic in Northwest Iowa!😊
It's not called lazy farming. It's called saving your body for your elder years. If you abuse it when you're young, you feel it in every joint in the senior years. Lol 😂 trust me, it hurts! 😂
Being more active young is more beneficial when old
@dantethunderstone2118 Cole is very active. He is just picking his battles.
@@tonyaegan2480 sure he’s very active except for when he sits in a tractor for 12 hours straight
Absolutely true. Ask me how I know.
Glad you are proactive about keeping as safe as you can from the sun. My dad had to battle skin cancer in his later years from all the decades of exposure. Careful, looks like you are getting farmer's lip, that's a bad spot. Neutrogena makes a 100 spf sunscreen that's not greasy, I recommend it. -Casper's cousin
You don't realize how big those planters actually are until you see Cole walk under one.
I was thinking the exact same thing. 😮
Cole has little planters.
The biggest planer is 56 rows.
That’s a diagnosis! Nice work, wiggle test and hunt. They do make a relay tester but you can just bench test them easy enough!
So awesome to see ya planting corn nice troubleshooting
As a Tennessee Volunteers fan... a touchdown is worth 6 points and the extra point kick is the 7th.... go watch the end of the TN V.S Alabama game and you'll find a great example
Hotty toddy
Go Ole Miss rebels
Cole, Peltor makes ear protection with the band going _behind_ your head instead of over the top. I wear mine when mowing the grass because I wear a hat even bigger than yours.
All the close-ups of Cole's hands and forearms - can tell those farmer boys got some strength!
awesome vide Cole. So sorry that y'all are having so much trouble. Good luck bud
Wow. The Life Of A Farmer isn't all Rainbows and Popsicles! Great work, guys! Nice troubleshooting!
Driving across the yard as opposed to walking across the yard is not lazy. It's called time management and efficiency!
Words of a lazy person in denial...
That's sarcasm.
Besides I do the same thing when possible lol
Love the idea of the camera on your head.
We get the view you're seeing!
Great idea!
My grandfather always wore a white cotton long sleeved Union suit with bib overalls, neckerchief and wide brimmed straw hat even in summer. His face still looked like an old shoe but the rest of him was pure white. He was full blooded Irish.
Have a good night Cole and family
Back in the day of mechanically operated seed drills a change of speed still made a difference to the start and stop point. Simply because of the time the seed took to drop from the box to the ground
Another wonderful day of modern farming
Try zinc sunscreen on your face it seems to last the longest for me… the one I use is in stick form that I use after I put on some moisturizer. I do a lot of gardening and I am also fair skin.
I"ve seen alot of different planters on U-Tube farm video"s. I think I would choose your White as the most reliable to use right out of the shed.
so you think 88% singularity is better than 99.7% he got on the John Deer?
When I get sunburned I have learned from a Dr to put vitamin E from capsules on the burn and it will heal in a few hours but sometimes it still peels. As time goes along the burn turn to a tan after a few years.
Remember the good old days of ground drive planter with finger pick-up units
It looks like those JD planters are getting a little too complex. Too much to potentially go wrong, but some self-diagnostics on the electrical side could be a big help. Hose and wire routing could benefit from some more organization so it looks less like spaghetti.
It's like that with all equipment now. I work on large mining equipment and its a damned nightmare to troubleshoot if wires are not run point to point and labelling as you go. Troubleshooting is also a PITA because although you know that you may have an electrical issue its a matter of where the issue is. Hydraulics much easier.. where is the oil spewing out of? there's your problem.
Don't refer to yourself as "just a farmer". You are a mechanic, accountant, big rig driver, welder...... you get my drift.
So that means he is "just a farmer".
You weren't having problems you were just making some final adjustments, right ?
That's to be expected when you first get started especially if it's a different machine or tractor. 👍
There are snorkel kits for gators to draw air from above.
Cole, if you make up an invoice for Van Wall, please make sure to include shipping and handling fees for each item. Have fun with it throw in some engineering cost, and diagnostic time, and really load it up with anything and everything you can think of.
👀🤔
Don’t forget to add shop supplies to invoice.
Wow. Farming can sure test the old nerves with the planter.
Growing ethanol and bio-diesel efficiently appears to be a tad more complicated than drilling for oil.
And worse for the environment funnily enough
Hey Cole get you some good face moisturizer with sunscreen in it..
Don't take much for me to burn either..
My grampa use to where thin but long-sleeved shirts when he was farming tobacco. Only tan spot on him was his neck, face and hands to😁
What do you do about the massive pile of seed you lost? Did you try to pick it up? Did you just leave it so you have a corn forest in that area??
You guys should get into the spic and span like that other channel, it's so satisfying
Thanks for reminding me to check the air filters in my Sidexside lol
Precision planting sells a tailstock hold up tool that makes digging for seeds easy
At first I thought you were Sheik the Corn Star but after your explanation, I understood your clothing protection.
I think you ought to grow and market your own Cole The Corn Star Popcorn. Coconut flavored, cashews and peanut butter, chocolate chip, dried fruit popcorn! The possibilities are endless! Seriously, I don't care if you hrow it or not. I'd buy it, if it was good!
🤘😎 28:35
Cole, you have a beautiful family!
You have SO MUCH PATIENCE 😮
The higher tech the planter the more problems your going to have! It's great when it works and sucks when it doesn't !
They all have issues at some point I think it boils down to your dealer and how well they can assist you in a timely manner and/or how good they are.
You need a cordless leaf vac for those spills. :)
Cooper deserves a raise!
Next winter you should do a "my camera gear" video.
Other than the electrical issue. Everything he had problems with on the planter were 100% operator error.
I have a 2021 version of the same planter….
I have thought about one of those hats. They offer big sizes.
Electrical repairs in the middle of the night, using a phone for a flashlight and a box cutter for a wire stripper. Let some ingenious farm repairs right there ! 👍🇺🇲👍
And you didn't even have to call Joe Diffie to find out how to do. 👍
Does any day go as planned Cole? There is always a new adventure in the farming business
Good stuff Cole👍👍👍👍
Love the farm videos but would love to also hear how mommy and daddy are doing with baby life.
It's Cole the Cornstar ! 😎
Technically, isn’t Cole now Daddy Cornstar?
@@tidybowlman6528 LoL 🤣💨
John Deere doesn't burn up. It blows up. I bet that someday that they will come up with sensors that drag on the ground and it can adjust itself to the ground conditions on the fly. Now you know what Zach deals with with his green machines.
Is there a reason why the wires aren't under/in the cross bar? I understand it would be harder to work on but it would add a ton of protection to where hopefully you wouldn't need to work on anything within that section of wire.
Some day maybe everything will be wireless talking to a wi fi in the tractor cab. Sensors could have no power wires but rather long life batteries that tell the computer when they are low. Solenoids could work that way too with bigger batteries.
There are several ways to say screwdriver in spanish. Here in South Texas on the Mexican border my tractor drivers all say :"el desarmador".
⭐️✨⭐️✨Cole you gotta get that baby in the tractor 🚜‼️‼️‼️
Corn planting 2023 im excited, prayering for all the farmers 🙏💕👍🌍🌎🌏
Awesome always cool stuff always thanks 😎
wandering what the dry lubricant for the seed does to the soil. hmmm.
Cornstar family. Search for a car relay tester. $16 to 50 bucks. Instead of just looking at relays you can actually activate the relay and put a load across the normally open and normally closed contacts.
Why not have a day or two broadcasting seed by hand & then rake it into the soil, I'm fairly sure you'll love that John Deere planter then, Vanwall seems to be a pretty good dealer supplying the side by side, renting the tractor/planter combo & they appear to be there for you when it comes to you needing assistance. I am really looking forward to seeing any yield difference between all three of the planters you've used this 2023 season. 👍
You need to do some research on your agleader. You only need 1 configuration per equipment. Also you need to measure your distances
Watched 3 videos from 3 farmers. All had issues with the planter. And they have spent many days during winter getting them ready. Why has it become so complex to seed and plant? Is all that technology really helping?
Smart man on thinking about the sun on your skin!
I think you blew an acre of soil out of the filter! Save it for your new lawn. Lol
You need to be traveling with water. I am hypoglycemic and have dry mouth. So I drink water all day long. When one of my doctors got a new device that measured the water content in the body, I was the only patient that had the correct amount. Before surgery I was drinking two gallons a day minimum. These days it’s over a gallon but not quite two. I always have water in my vehicle and my backpack. Keep the videos coming and I will continue watching my friend! 😎
Other than for electricity, why aren't implements set up for wireless controls? Seems like that would avoid a lot of cabling issues and set up.
Give it time...
I think you got the planter that Zack Johnson had last year and he just about gave up.
Screwdriver in Spanish is Destornillador Cole.
Pretty sure it just throws that code when you start the EPG without the PTO on. Then you clear diagnostic codes and restart the EPG.
Hey, you need to let the people know when you over plant on corn that Enduro clutch take so much do you have to go slower not to burn it out
What ever happened to lifting the planter out if the ground at your turn rows, that always worked in the simpler days.
If you thought that air filter was bad you should see when we sweep almonds there worse and we do them twice a day.
grew up on beach n dr told my mom she neefs noscoat it was in a copper colored tube probably made by coppertone
What kind of seed dressing are you guys using.
How come you don’t roll the soybeans? Studies have shown it helps with sprouting by about three days with the compaction.
Also makes harvesting much much better and increases yield since you can get the header lower to ground
Don’t forget to like the video!!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🥰🥰🥰👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
And watch the entire video!! It's worth it. Always so entertaining and informative!!
It seems so evident that you have been trained in numbers related to finance, and statistics and you are.. the Cornstar!
"Cooper Did It One Time!" Riiiight...
You need a snorkel for the gator moves the air intake up the cab and out of the dust
Hi😊😊😊. Question🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔???: what would be result if left over ground cover was burned to ash andWould the stuff that normally attacks corn, or causes yield to lower help grow healthy corn??? Seems it would be worth introducing an acre or two with ash. Might make a diff. Should provide nutrition quicker. If ash could. be hot when worked into soil, might be a magic. Bullet.
Might want to test this hot ash theory on a small island plot..instead of productive farm fields in the middle of the nations ethanol origin "tank"...with El Nina weather pattern developing....just sayin'
The life of a Farmer!
So much fun watching Cole guzzle water ...(not).
