      Sign of pure bullshit right there, "Nutritionist" is not a protected term. In fact, i'm a nutritionist, and i do not approve of those snacks.

      Yeah I thought exactly the same thing, a whole video about how the throwaway commercialized society is poisoning itself.... followed by an ad for a throwaway commercial product packing food into plastic when cardboard would do just as well. sigh, we really are just going to kill ourselves off.

      yip, i cant stand it.. in my job i have to replace parts anually when they reach their expiry date, even though they will be fine for years and years to come, and they generally dont even get used... everyday i have to throw away so much plastic, and it all just goes straight to the tip, wish we were a green company, but that might hurt the profit margin... its all about meeting that mythical budget.. its bs. where do people think this trash is going? if i throw out that much everyday, into a generalised garbage bin, then doesnt that mean every other company is doing the same? thats thousands of tonnes of garbage in one city alone, per day.. people need to flipping realise this... funny thing is, i stll go to work everyday and do the same thing.... humans, what can i say? were hopeless

    I live in an urban neighborhood in MD. Every time I go outside there is trash fucking everywhere. Even on an old playground that hasn't been open for years. I tired of it. I live with my mom but I don't have to stay here. I could live in a much better neighborhood but I don't just want to leave all this trash here. And I will not live in a fucking dump either. After watching this video I have decided to clean up all this trash myself.

      That's very nice.. but where is it ultimately going to go after that? Incineration leads to carbon dioxide and other nasties.. massive landfills are practically filled up.. We need to learn not to be so wasteful and make containers out of biodegradable materials..

    • @dejahodge8203
      @dejahodge8203 7 років тому +18

      I have thought about this after posting my comment. I'm doing some research on proper recycling techniques and thinking of ways to get my community involved. From what I've been seeing the trash is mostly paper, plastic, and aluminum cans. I know from experience that there is a good aluminum recycling center near me. But I haven't actually done research on where that aluminum goes or how green that company is. So before I get started with the actual clean up I'm researching nearby recycling centers as well as proper recycling and composting.

      I say we turn the floating garbage pile into a giant island by burning it and fusing it into an ashen lump we can fertilize and turn into an island like that guy who made a recycled trash island where the root systems of the trees and plants kept the island locked together (it floats,too!)

      If it was forced down enough depth then the pressure of the ocean will force it down to the ocean floor even if it still has air in it. Same idea if you dove down like 100m then if you stop moving you will start "falling" deeper and deeper because of the pressure of the water on you body.

    These videos make me so sad. They are so necessary. It is extremely important to avoid over packaging and avoiding disposable objects. If there is no other choice, then make sure its recyclable. I wish the government took more action by regulating packaging in store products. Chips are a primary example. So much packaging for such little product. There needs to be better and more efficient options.

      We only apply as a negative. Humans gloat about fixing problems or finding "cures" for things that shouldn't exist. It's also the out of sight out of mind complication which most seem fall into.
      Also take in perspective the real animal food chain. How one helps another in a living state and also in death. For example blue whales help the sea by consuming plankton and other species. After they poop, they fertilize the photosynthesis area of the sea. And also kick up more organisms with their fins. Which then leads to more krill and plankton to reproduce. Which boost the ecosystem and also helps with Co2 pollution.
      Another example, when a lion or whatever kills an antelope. It doesn't just make a meal for a true carnivore but; also can bring more land to graze for future antelopes due to fertilization.
      If we kill our oceans we kill ourselves.

      Nah brother... The population of china is 1.3 billion, and India, 1.1 billion. North America is third with 300 million. This is not from 50 years ago. Populations weren't nearly as high 50 years ago. This is a GROWING problem that will only get worse unless people learn a couple things, how to recycle properly and dispose of trash properly and also, straying away from plastics to find a better shipping material.

    When I was in the Marines on our MEU deployment, we would go into designated areas and conduct "Trash Calls". Everyone on the boat would get in a long line from the trash room to the flight deck. We would pass bags of trash, one by one to each person, until those bags reached the final person on the top of the ship. He would then toss the bag of trash over the side, leaving trails of floating bags MILES long. No one seemed to think anything was wrong with this; and apparently nations have agreed upon designating areas of the ocean where it's appropriate to dump all trash.

    Did you know that Target accepts any food-grade packaging, plastic film, and plastic bags? You can recycle them at the station near the bathrooms. They then turn them into other bags that they use.
    Also, I pick up street trash and rinse it once a week in a day's worth of bath water AKA grey water.
    And anything that is not fit for curbside recycling such as toothpaste tubes, toothbrushes, Oddball items Etc goes in a special bin which I then take to a place called JJ's recycling. They put it in a landfill and harvest the methane gas and sell it back to the electric company. So in reality everything can be recycled. Please locate one of these facilities nearest to you!

    Doesnt the international science community use metre? What is 26,000 feet in metres? Trace would say it in metres

    • @pedrorodriquez4954
      @pedrorodriquez4954 6 років тому

      Paula Baxter a meter is about the same as a yard so around 3 feet. So around 26000\3, I don't feel like doing it myself.

    • @games1004
      @games1004 6 років тому

      Robert Daggett Lazy, maybe. Inaccurate, not for a UA-cam video. 26000 ft is 7924.8 m. 10000 ft is 3048 m, which, for a basic UA-cam video, is close enough to “a little more than 1/3.” It’s not that hard. Stop complaining, the U.S. will change eventually, and it already has in many places.

    • @games1004
      @games1004 6 років тому

      Robert Daggett My posted numbers are accurate to the numbers-place as posted, 26000 ft DIVIDED BY 3.28 feet/meter EQUALS 7926.8, which is within TWO METERS of what I said. Learn basic Algebra before saying my numbers are wrong and that I should apologize, Moron. Google, Bing, or other search for "feet to meter," plug in the feet and get the same number I did. I just now checked 5 different sites to verify that the numbers were indeed right.
      BTW, a yard is 3 feet, not 6. Just clarifying because I could not follow the poor grammar in your last sentence.

    Without question! Every Country, Government, and any Companies involved with producing any of the waste products that are gathering in the Oceans should all have to pitch in a percentage (Larger the producer of the product, the larger the percent) of money to go towards the waste removal process to clean the debris in the Oceans. There is no excuses why it's not already being done, and no way it can't be done.

    Hey just so everyone knows the facts, you cant see shit down at the bottom of the Mariana Trench because of the immense lack of light. The only time anyone has been that deep was for three short hours when James Cameron in 2013 built a special manned sub. Since objects dont fall to the bottom of the ocean unless they're really heavy because they reach neutral buoyancy before reaching the floor, his sub was equipped with two 536 lb detachable weights to pull him down. But in order to get back to the surface, he detached the weights. So.....if there's any garbage down there, its two big ass weights left behind by Cameron himself.
