Girl you basically rescued me! I've been experiencing dip flu for the past 9 months, I thought it was the dip powder, but I just figured out a month ago it may be the liquids. I pushed all my dip powder to the back of my closet because I didn't want to go through that anymore. I would be stuffy and congested for a whole week! Girl I will be trying this method this weekend! Thank ya💝
This is the best method I've seen thus far. Results are stellar. I'm having a hard time having to possibly part with my acrylic nails & my length for dip powder. It just seems too good to be true. I've never had short nails.
Love this. I am glad you included how long it ACTUALLY took you to do this one hand. Now I don’t feel bad for taking nearly a whole day to do my own nails. 🤣😂😁😀😄😀
@@TheBeautyVault hi doll, I hope you're well. I have a question. So you don't have to use the activator if you use the Gel base so the powder can stick? Isn't the activator what hardens the power? Hmm I think I just answered my own question, lmao. Because once curing the gel it hardens the powder, right? 🤔 lmao I'd love to know if I'm right because as you said, the process of taking the dip powder off is a B*TCH. BUT I'D SAY IT'S A MEGA B*TCH LOL.

I have started a nail business using dipping powder because I love it so much. But, I've been getting sick a day after each application 😢. I wasn't sure what was happening. I figured I was allergic to the dust! Like you, I used masks and dust collectors, but STILL I was getting sick. I started researching and heard about "dip flu." Then I found your video and others talking about this and how to fix it. You have saved my creativity 🙌🏾. Thanks for the tutorial. Also, just to add, I had been getting dip on my nails at salons for YEARS! Never had a problem! Then bam! I started to do it on myself and others and have been getting sick for 2-3 days EVERYTIME. The crazy looking Walter white mask helped 100% for me but was so annoying to wear! I also switched to the gel method.
it took me about 3 times of doing my dip nails to figure out i wasn’t sick, it was my nails! i would do my nails and then about 6 hours later get that nasty nasty dry cough which had left me with a scratchy voice. i threw all of my dip powders out because i was so sure i could never use them again
Dip flu took me out too! I thought I had my regular seasonal sinus infection until I ended up at the E.R. getting a breathing treatment and an inhaler. My chest felt like concrete and I even wore thick masks made for fiberglass work but those liquids are truly the devil!! I tried the gel method with a mini nail lamp and it didn’t cure so I’m gonna go for a full size lamp and hope it works. Thank you for all the info it’s how I realized what was happening to me!
Thank you so much for this! For almost a year I couldn't understand just what was wrong with me. Sinus problems, headaches, flu feeling all the time. So I quit gels and went back to acrylics. Now I know the cure. 💜
I bought a shit ton of nailboo products. I have done my nails twice and. Both times got dip flu. Really bad cough, sneezing, stuffy nose, the works. I’m anxious to try dip with gel. Thank you.
This video is so helpful!!!! My body also says NOOOO to dip and so I had to completely switch to gel, and bam all ‘hayfever’ is gone now. I’m defs gonna try this because I feel so sad that my beautiful powders are just sitting at the back of my cupboard! Thank you for such amazingly helpful and hilarious videos. Your banter is bomb and you explain things so perfectly :)

Anywho, I was one of those peeps that subs for your dip videos and stayed after you switched to gels, I am happy you don't get dip flu anymore, I know you delt with it a few times. i got dip powder a year before covid, then tried it myself during the first month of quarantine and got dip flu! I was annoyed cause I love dip, but you’ve saved my dip collection with this method! thank you so much ❤️
I just wanna say that I always go back and refer to your videos when I’m stuck with something because you always explain everything so good and I really appreciate it
That’s my drill and I’ve had it for over a year now. I have had no issues with it at all. Love it! Great for those of us DIY nail people!💕 I’ve been using base gel and foil gel to dip my normal acrylic powder when I don’t feel like doing full hard gel or acrylic. Works great, too!
I am so excited about this!!!! I don’t get dip flu but swear no matter what I did my liquids were ruined foggy whatever but I have sooooooo much dip that has sat for 2 years now bc I was just so over the liquids.
Thank you so much for an alternative way to do this fun nail technique!!!! Love your voice (sidenote) and the comprehensive videos you do! Need the details to have the confidence needed to try some of these things! God bless you sweet girl💗
I don't get dip flu, never knew it was a thing. I'm really glad that now I know though! I so prefer gel that I'm happy to know about this gel dip hybrid method!!!!!!
These came out so pretty! This is my favorite way to apply dip powder. I have a few tutorials on my channel and I basically apply them the same way you showed in this video. Another great tutorial. Tfs! 😊
So, I watched this a couple days ago… haven’t done my nails in so long, because I too, come down with the sickness with dip powder system… I just tried this and I just 😮🤯 thank you, thank you, thank you!
My wife had the same issue. She found out the chemical ethyl-2 cyanoacrylate cause all the issue. All the base and top coat had the same chemical and it was also used in eye lashes extensions glue which cause her eye to become puffy and red.
I’ve been doing this for a long time. I started with the dip but when I first began, the glue brushes would get hard and it was just a giant mess. I just figured I would try this and it worked! I either use a clear acrylic powder and colored gel polish or I use a clear basecoat and dip it in colored dip powder if that makes sense. Then I bake it and topcoat. It works perfect. Plus it’s easier to remove. Fabulous video
When you use a clear powder and a gel polish do you use a base coat then the powder and cure it then the gel color with the gel topcoat? I do regular clear dip using the base and activator then paint over w reg polish but want to use gels! Also do you fill your nails using this method too?
i noticed you only ever spray solution on a pad then wipe your nails, but a plastic nail brush changed my nail game totally and i highly recommend. i brush my nails off with a dry brush first to get rid of any dust or debris, then i pump my brush on my bottle to get it wet with solution and i brush over my nails again to remove any further dust and cleanse the nail for the next product application.
It took me getting dip flu 3 times before I figured it out. I've had covid but this was almost worse in different ways. I couldn't breathe at all without nasal inhalants and I sneezed almost constantly for days. It was miserable! I'm going to try this though because I've never had problems with doing my own acrylic nails until the dip nail systems and I'm currently using hard builder gel with no issues either. Thanks for this informative video, even a year later.
Omg this is such a lifesaver!! My thumb nails have become so flat from me picking off my nails. I know, a horrible act! But I just did a acrylic nail on both thumbs and it's been way too long since I used monomer and chile that smell!!!! Never again. It got me thinking about the fumes of the dip collection as well so while I didn't use the Kiara Sky gel, I wanted to see if the Beetles version would also work with this method and it's way faster than this videos method although I'm sure yours lasted and looks better than mine! But I will say, this method is amazing because it also cut down the filing and shaping. I literally only have to buff the top to a smooth feel and top it! I literally can't wait for my other nails to lift so I can do this on all my fingers. It will probably be my beats mani ever!! You are the Nail Queen!!!!
Hello from Spain, I've been using the nsi gel dip system for the last 6yrs and I would swear by it. Maybe u could do a video on it. My clients prefer it on their natural nails and also short extensions than overlays with hard gel or acrylic. It's a very quick process as u can do your whole hand at once. Love watching your work and you explain things in a way anyone can understand. Xx
This is genius! The first time I used my dip powder kit, I got rash all over my arms. Not severe, but definitely noticeable and uncomfortable. Thankfully, it turned out to be entirely unrelated to the powders, but it scared the shit out of me for sure. Didn't touch dip powders for good 4 weeks. For those who get serious reaction from the liquids, you are a life saver. I may give this method a go as well!
Thank you for posting this. I’ve wanted to try dip nails, but worried about the fumes because of having some health concerns. It’s why I can’t do acrylics. I’m so happy that I can use gel to do them!
I adore u for this! I'm soo allergic to the monomers & most all the liquids u mentioned i love having cute nails but i stopped bc of the dreaded reactions I'd get and lord the rash and pus filled bumps on my cuticles the itching was soo bad i knew there had to be an alternative and i whole heartedly Thank you for sharing 💜
I cant wait to try this ! I used to do my nails using dip powder , kiara sky, however i noticed the base would get too thick , and in less than 6 months the bottle would be difficult to open and even crack on its own. I kept it in a cool dry place not sure why this happened to me a few times. So i am now left with over 10 different dip colors, and very recently i started doing my nails with amazon beetles tips.
The Kiara sky liquids are thick in my opinion, I even have their gel liquids which take a lot of manipulating to use. Try dipwells base, the brush has a rounded tip to create the perfect cuticle line, the liquids are thinner and they take longer to dry, which is good if you are doing nail art, or are a beginner and want to manipulate the product a bit before its final placement. Dip well liquids are amazing!
Thank you so much…I became sick soon after filing my dip powder sets…I thought it was the brand..so I change the brand and quality of mask..I still became sick. I’m so excited to see if this will be a better outcome. I miss doing my nails with my dip powders it’s so much easier for me than doing acrylic sets on myself.
Never heard of dip flu until now I’m so glad I saw this video because it’s started happening for me since 2019 and I was like what’s going on every time I did dip I would get sick so thank you so much it all makes sense now
Lordy, Lordy that dip flu! I really thought it was the powder so I masked but it never helped. I get so congested! I thought I would need to give up dips but stumbled on your video and I am looking forward to trying this method! Thanks for the info.
Gurl! They look fabulous. Thank you for adding how long it actually took. As it takes me forever as well. And I keep thinking I must be slow....but it's just the process
Idk if it’s the same thing but any time I would try to use a regular acrylic system I would feel sick for days. Weirdest thing so I opted for going for dip nails and have not had an issue but this is good to know! ✨
I absolutely love this idea, I'm a nail tech of nearly 20yrs. I used to do the dip system but hated how the brushes always glued up even with the brush saver. I am now excited to use your method and bring out my dip powders again 💜💜
Super great video, like always!!! Thank you, thank you for saving our lungs and other parts!!! 😂I have one of those Powder Catcher &Recycler, it makes life easier when messin around with powder, for sure!!! God bless you and your millions of fans🎉
Omg I kept getting extreme congestion so suddenly and I noticed a correlation to when I was doing my dip powder but I thought I was crazy! I am so happy I saw this video and found a way around it thank you so much!!!
I have never experienced dip flu but I am very sensitive to the dust. I am very familiar with this method and even though I know it I watched the whole video bc your voice was so soothing. I absolutely loved that dip powder you chose 😍😍
I've been doing nails since 1995 I've tried various dip systems. I recently tried again with a system from Amazon that's dip or acrylic or can be used with gel so far its ok . I much prefer polygel for odorless factor . I'll wear these nails til it's fill time and reacess if I wanna try another color or go back to polygel. I love acrylic but my daughter has bad asthma and acrylic tend to trigger her asthma .
Beautiful! I’m a bit new to do-it-myself dip nails so, a good bit of the products and their purpose is foreign to me! I’ve done my nails a few times with no dip flu to speak of. So, I guess I don’t need to worry about getting a lamp, right? I have a motorized file…two neck surgeries has limited my dexterity in my hands so, I foresee this being an entire day of my life! Oh, well! I’m saving the video to refer to it again later! Thanks for all you do for us!
I’m a newbie who bought a ton of dip powder stuff only to find I have dip flu. But at the end of your video, you captured the very reason I think gel is better. It takes me a full day to do dip powder and less than an hour to do gel. So, why is dip powder so fascinating to people?!
I had alleric reactions to gel but so far Im good with dip powder. But I've been wearing a mask and safety glasses since starting. I am envious of this gel method tho. I wonder if HEMA free gel would be ok 🤔
Genius! I hate dip base just with how much the brushes stick together. Constant brush saver required. AND it dries too fast. Don't have to worry about that with gel! THANK YOU!!!
I get such a horrible asthmatic response from the dip liquids. Used them for a bit without issue than BAM; one day, allergy activated! I've hoping the gel method will help with this as I have never had any issue with acrylic powders or gel previously. Fingers crossed here. Thanks for sharing and your humor.
I love watching your nail videos! You were the first person to actually inspire me to do my own nails. If I can make one suggestion, it would be super helpful if you could mention how long it takes you to do these sets.
@@courtney9384 It's kind of a long time, but I guess if the nails don't chip, it's worth it. My gels chip after about a week. Well, peel is more like it.
@@Asiantiger71 4 hours may be on the long side of things, since she has to film everything and make sure shots are good. Also, longer nails take longer to do.
Those are beautiful. I’ve been using gelish full nail covers instead of tips. Then using gel base coat regular polish and sometimes gel top coat sometimes seche Vite it soaks off easy and I love it
I love it and I feel like even the acrylic liquid makes me have a cough and it's weird because I haven't used acrylic in like a week and I'm not coughing as much so maybe that is what it is. So I'm going to try this thank you for the info it really makes sense. I just subscribed to you and I love to see how you work. And you have a very soothing voice which is a plus. And I enjoyed your video very much. Thank you!
I thought dip flu was a reaction to the powder for the longest time. I got it every time I dipped and it was getting worse over time. I switched to the gel method, I actually prefer it for many reasons. One, I don't get dip flu anymore, two, I feel like it's easier for me to keep my nails thinner. Three, easier to remove.
I just started dip powder right before Thanksgiving ugh I felt so bad (sick) Thanksgiving day and had no clue until this video . Thank you for this video cause I just bought a bunch of dip powders too .

I just wanna say that I always go back and refer to your videos when I’m stuck with something because you always explain everything so good and I really appreciate it
That’s my drill and I’ve had it for over a year now. I have had no issues with it at all. Love it! Great for those of us DIY nail people!💕
I’ve been using base gel and foil gel to dip my normal acrylic powder when I don’t feel like doing full hard gel or acrylic. Works great, too!
How do u use it
I am so excited about this!!!!
God bless you sweet girl💗
aw thank you so much for watching!! 🥰❤️
Dip flu has done me in! Just got the ok from my dermatologist to use LED!!! Thank you!
I don't get dip flu, never knew it was a thing. I'm really glad that now I know though! I so prefer gel that I'm happy to know about this gel dip hybrid method!!!!!!
I've got to get the powder recycle container asap. Great work
Beautiful. Thanks. Just got some powders so will be on the look out for possible irritation. This is a great alternative.
My gosh you are so entertaining and FUNNY! I still dip but I will still subscribe just to listen to you!
Wow!!! What an awesome modification! Love it girl!
thank you for watching. 💖
OMG! I was DYING when you showed the “Hell naw” clip!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
💀😂
No dip flu but i love this method so it’s my new go to method hence forth and forever! Good job go girlie!
I like your technique better than others! The gel seems to be stronger than the other way!
Damn....that was the most thorough video ever. Thanks!!! I appreciate it.
BEAUTIFUL! THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE METHOD . Always great to watch you and listen to your soothing voice 🤩
thank you so much for watching! 💖
i wonder if maybe it was the monomer you were reacting to? either way i’m glad you got it sorted!
These look good i tried this method such a life saver
I absolutely love this idea, I'm a nail tech of nearly 20yrs. I used to do the dip system but hated how the brushes always glued up even with the brush saver. I am now excited to use your method and bring out my dip powders again 💜💜
Super great video, like always!!! Thank you, thank you for saving our lungs and other parts!!! 😂I have one of those Powder Catcher
&Recycler, it makes life easier when messin around with powder, for sure!!! God bless you and your millions of fans🎉
Thank you so much!!! I’m not allergic to the dip stuff but i like doing this with the gel base much better!!! All the dip bottles get glued shut.
Omg I kept getting extreme congestion so suddenly and I noticed a correlation to when I was doing my dip powder but I thought I was crazy! I am so happy I saw this video and found a way around it thank you so much!!!
so happy you found this helpful!! 💘
I have dip flu! Have had it since the third time I started using dip powder!! I am now so excited to try this method 😍 Thanks girl!!
thank you for another great video, i always watch your videos all the way through much love to you xxxxxxx
A nail video on my birthday? Nice! I mean I'm not a huge fan of dip powder but I am willing to watch it :)
I’ve got that same Melody Susie efile and I love it! Works so well and I get loads of uses from one charge.
Gorgeous! Youre so talented
I’m definitely going to try this method
omg i want to try this!! i hate teh dip powder liquids as well because they either shut tight or just get so hard to work with.
I had alleric reactions to gel but so far Im good with dip powder. But I've been wearing a mask and safety glasses since starting. I am envious of this gel method tho. I wonder if HEMA free gel would be ok 🤔
Omg you just saved me so much money I already have all the stuff to do it at home!!!
These are so freaking pretty! I love the subtle glitter and shine to the nails I love them!💕
omg i def did find and subscribe to you during your dip powder days and ive been sticking with you since 💗
appreciate cha! ❤️❤️❤️
Omg!! I used to do only dip powder then got covid which made my asthma soo much worse and wasn’t able to do dip anymore! But I’m soo trying this🙏🏼💕
I’m definitely trying this method, I don’t get flu symptoms but the glue is so strong that it burns my eyes 🥲
At the end, she said she edited 4 hours worth of video, so I'm thinking 4 hours?
@@Asiantiger71 that's fair. I must've missed that or misinterpreted it.
You can also cut down on time by flash curing each layer. Watch Marla Kris's nail videos for some time saving techniques. She's very speedy.
Those are beautiful. I’ve been using gelish full nail covers instead of tips. Then using gel base coat regular polish and sometimes gel top coat sometimes seche Vite it soaks off easy and I love it
They turned out great!!! I have a question, can u use Any Basecoat for dipping? Like could I use my basecoat and topcoat I use when polishing nails?
I used to use this method with clear or pink acrylic to patch cracks in my nail (originally saw it on Ten Little Canvases YT channel).
