The fuzz sounds more like distortion than fuzz. I can hear the difference but the way you have them set up they sound very similar. This is good and how a lot of people use them. But crank that fuzz up and the difference becomes much more noticable.
Generally, I like distortion for chords or anything with harmonics but fuzz for punchy melodies but let’s all be happy that no one makes us choose either one.
War Pigs then Lithium looked to have sealed the deal, then distortion comes out absolutely swinging with Money, then fuzz hits back with Dani California... Not to mention that both sides had Hit The Lights and Outshined respectively. I can't pick one over the other, they're both amazing.
Fuzz is one my favourite favourite 'effects' ever but you have to use it in the right environment. It's fat, smokey and massive but not as clear and pronounced as distortion.
I have both, the tc electronic Honey Pot Fuzz and a Metal Zone, plus the built-in distortions of my 6-string amps. They all work with a keyboard, by the way, especially the Ampeg bass amp's distortion.
Old school metal with a fat, creamy fuzz is super underrated. Any signal chain using a RAT/Big Muff, Marshall-style amp, greenback/creamback speakers and a hot humbucker (Di'marzio SD, Seymour Duncan JB, Gibson Dirty Fingers) is a win for me!
I distorsori? (As long as you play at home they are all beautiful and especially with fuzz / big muffs we all feel each other "Comfortably numb". The problem exists when you're in a live/band context: you just don't feel like it! And then you start asking yourself questions, documenting yourself, understanding that the guitar needs certain frequencies (mids) to be heard and that scooped mids pedals make you practically invisible in the mix of a band. And then you start putting an od to boost your big muff/fuzz but it's not enough and then you need an eq maybe a boss GE-7 and your beautiful big muff sound that you used to listen to at home is nice that it's transformed into something else. The distorters? But all pedalboards have the DS-1, it's an answer that your "guitarist I" gives you automatically. How nice it is when you're at home..but then you go to the rehearsal room and there's something wrong..and then you document yourself, etc etc...and you see around all the modifications of this world made to the pedal in question or the inevitable ibanez ts-9 that they use to boost the ds-1. And the (infinite) story continues... "But Gilmour as he did ...?" And the good Lord David Gilmour who, in response, looks at you and smiles at you, with tenderness...)
Don't wanna be that guy but I'm pretty sure the solo on money is through a fuzz face and the solo on Dani California is through a boss DS2 distortion (or DS1). Also war pigs isn't a fuzz pedal per say. Tony used a rangemaster treble booster into a Laney to get that sound which indeed sounds like a fuzz pedal but with the mid range intact.
bro really had a war with distortion vs fuzz and then played money with distortion, when it uses a fuzz face, a silicon fuzz face, one of the most aggressive fuzz faces played with distortion as a point for distortion BRUUUUUUUUUUH
MONEY USES FUZZ, IT'S A FUZZ FACE ON DARK SIDE OF THE MOON the only other distortion is a coloursound powerbooster, which is an overdrive that is technically a low gain fuzz
Honestly my problem with Fuzz is I don't like the sound coming out of my hands with it. I love fuzz riffs themselves. Last year got a Proco RAT and I use that to fuzz up my signal every now and then for some good fun.
Money solo was recorded with LP loaded with p90s and rams muff.........hard to tell which one is the go....it really depends on the song you gonna play
If you use a fuzz the same way you would use a tubescreamer in front of a high gain amp, with just a touch of drive to boost the input levels, you get the best of both worlds, tight high gain distortion with that thick creamy fuzz goodness adding some flavour You can also get some absolutely disgusting metal tones that way if you add a little bit more drive from the fuzz, just pure chainsaw brutality 👍
Ciao, ti ringrazio!
He used a Fuzz Face on the original recording in 1973. The Rat wasn’t created until 1978. Gilmour started using a Rat live in the 90s (or possibly in the mid 80s), so you may have heard of him using it for Money when he played it live at that time. But yes, it was a silicon Fuzz Face on the studio album.
CIAO DANILO !!! MA È UNA QUESTIONE DI GUSTI E REGOLAZIONE!!!; MA SOPRATTUTTO IL FUZZ IN CERTI BRANI E GENERI! COSI COME IL DISTORSORE E COSI COME OVERDRIVE!😎🎸👍
This was fun, but you missed true fuzz songs that are genres defining: satisfaction (stones), purple haze/voodoo child (hendrix), psychotic reaction (Count Five), Summertime Blues (Blue Cheer), Funeralopolis (Electric Wizard). These songs really bring out the character of the Fuzz sound vis a vis the distortion sound unlike stuff from the 90s that you used in your video. In your vid, the fuzz and distortion sounds similar. FUZZ is generally loose raw aggressive and all over the place, not at all tight and precise like distortion. Also warpigs used distortion through Laney 100w with a Dallas range master treble boost instead of fuzz and Gilmour uses Big muff which is a fuzz pedal unlike what you showed for money.
I am normally a distortion guy, and most of those riffs backed me up, but you made me think. Fuzz is a fundamental tone too...
I know, I’m always been a distortion lover… but it’s hard to ignore how cool a good fuzz can sound 😅
fuzz is absolutely amazing how did you not know this yet?
Or, you can do like David Gilmour and get a Russian Big Muff, that's neither a fuzz nor a distortion but it's both at the same time.
Fuzz is so much more lush and juicy. Easily my favorite out of the two.
The fuzz sounds more like distortion than fuzz. I can hear the difference but the way you have them set up they sound very similar. This is good and how a lot of people use them. But crank that fuzz up and the difference becomes much more noticable.
I’m a fan of Distortion, but I also love some fuzz tones, expecially in fat punk rhythms.. so I think that’s a 1-1.
Great video!
Thank you!!
Generally, I like distortion for chords or anything with harmonics but fuzz for punchy melodies but let’s all be happy that no one makes us choose either one.
Fuzz + Wah Pedal to finish off the Dani California solo beats everything
I read your comment at the exact moment of the video
Both were amazing! I think I resonated with the distortion riffs more though. keep rocking it!
Thank you! 😁
War Pigs then Lithium looked to have sealed the deal, then distortion comes out absolutely swinging with Money, then fuzz hits back with Dani California... Not to mention that both sides had Hit The Lights and Outshined respectively. I can't pick one over the other, they're both amazing.
funnily enough, money uses a fuzz face, so money uses fuzz
Lithium sounded great even though it was originally recorded with distortion
Loved it. These are always a fun watch.
Thanks, truly appreciate it!😁
I love fuzz❤with the fuzz you get many possibilities among musical styles.A curiosity,in brazil many bands use fuzz as
main distortion.
Agh! You’re tearing me apart here Danilo! Distortion is classic but you opened my eyes to how many fuzz riffs I love!
Both sounds amazing.
Great video, loved both of them!(as usual)
Yeah maybe it’s too hard to pick one this time 😂
Amazing battle of sound! Kudos to you!
Thanks!!🤘🏻
beautiful effect pedal, excellent effect pedal, very good, wonderful. I love these sounds and their sound variations of this pedal
Fuzz is one my favourite favourite 'effects' ever but you have to use it in the right environment. It's fat, smokey and massive but not as clear and pronounced as distortion.
Single coils give way more clearness for fuzz, but it doesn't work as well with distortion.
Is it just me or Woman sounds almost exactly like the intro to The Four Horsemen! 0:32
Video bellissimo e molto divertente!
Ottimo lavoro ragazzo😁
Grazie mille, mi fa super piacere!
Jack White's fuzz tone is why I play guitar, so I have a clear bias...Like most good fuzzes.
Soo good! Loved both!
I have no idea when it was fuzz and when distortion.
I think it’s pretty noticeable 😅 (Fuzz left, Right Distortion)
@@DaniloVicari I thought vice versa:)
I tend to favor OD, but that Rat won for me! Well done! (As usual!) 👏👏👏
Thank you!!😁
But but but… you played Pink Floyd (a fuzz face originally) on the distortion side and nirvana (a DS-1 originally) on the fuzz side! Mind blown!
on lithium was used big muff fuzz with chorus pedal
I got a little confused with Lithium too. "Wait... are we switching sides, or...?"
@@FakingANerve Lithium was played with a Big Muff and a Fender Bassman.
I have both, the tc electronic Honey Pot Fuzz and a Metal Zone, plus the built-in distortions of my 6-string amps. They all work with a keyboard, by the way, especially the Ampeg bass amp's distortion.
Both players were great but in the end I think you were the best!!
I go for a fuzzy distortion on my guitar. Very thick chunky distortion but with a little fuzzy buzz
Alongside with overdrive and the blending on reverse reverb, I like to stack fuzz and distortion together to play shoegaze
Old school metal with a fat, creamy fuzz is super underrated.

quindi in sostanza meglio suonare col pulito
EXCELLENT, well done.

DS2 In solo of Dani California and in the end, it's DS2 + Fuzz + Wah
haha nice reference with the cameras haha
Nothing messes with my heartstrings harder than the good ole fuzztone pedal sound

played with distortion as a point for distortion
BRUUUUUUUUUUH
Apenas escuché ROUND AND ROUND y le di like 😎
Next video idea: Tremolo vs Reverb
Trem:
-Blvd of Broken Dreams
-Guerrilla Radio or Like a Stone
I was like "mmm I think Distortion wins", then you played Soundgarden and I was convinced.
Overdrive VS distorsión
Fuzz e Vida ❤
They both are great in there own way.
They're😊
@@Guitarter78 their :)
It's like both of your children asking you who is your favorite of them. It's mind boggling.👀
True 😂
my favorite two guitars
Fuzz
As a just overdrive from amp user.... Cant tell f*kin difference 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is cool and love the plac there on the wall I still have to be patience to have one, Iama begginer, love both sounds 😁😁😁🎸🎸🎸🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thank you!!
BOTH 😁
Great video, Better overdrive.
as a stoner doom fan i hear just 2 distortion twice
MONEY USES FUZZ, IT'S A FUZZ FACE ON DARK SIDE OF THE MOON
the only other distortion is a coloursound powerbooster, which is an overdrive that is technically a low gain fuzz
I usually use the distortion to boost the fuzz, frusciante style
That work as well! Usually I like to push the fuzz with a tube screamer 🤘🏻
Qq- How can I volume boost my Fuzz Pedal. The headroom on my fuzz is low, so how can I boost the volume without adding gain/fuzz? Thanks
60s vs 90s next
I love the distortion it's combines rock and metal👍🤘🎸
awesome
Thanks so much!
Wolfmother!!! 🤘🤘
Geniiius!
i like & play both
🤘🏻🤘🏻
I got to have both.
I prefeer Danilo playing. I'm a simple latino man, with simple tastes.
Honestly my problem with Fuzz is I don't like the sound coming out of my hands with it. I love fuzz riffs themselves. Last year got a Proco RAT and I use that to fuzz up my signal every now and then for some good fun.
I’m more a distortion guy myself as well, but sometimes when you have those single note riffs the fuzz is perfect to get that full and fat tone 🤘🏻
@@DaniloVicari true, I'm more of a chord player 😂 gets mushy real quick
How about distortion vs. Overdrive for the next video!
Overdrive, distortion, fuzz... It's all shades of clipping, man. It's not the pedal, but how you use it and what you put through it. ✌"Ohmmmm..."
I'm Mudhoney fan so fuzz- big muff- buzz- super fuzz that's my religion ☠🍻
Money solo was recorded with LP loaded with p90s and rams muff.........hard to tell which one is the go....it really depends on the song you gonna play
I always knew it was the recorded with the P90s goldtop and the Rat 🤔
Love it. What is the Tele style guitar you’re using for the Nivana song?
It’s a Sire T7 FM. Awesome guitar for the money 🤘🏻
Fuzz definitely won! 🤘

Definitely very versatile!
Ciao Danilo!

Which was which?
So what side is playing the distortion the right side? Or the is it the other way around not everyone knows the difference
Danilo how do you get both of you in a video is it some kinda of program or something just curious it’s so cool
Thanks! It’s just 2 videos overlayed divided in 2 using a mask (I use Final Cut Pro X) 🤘🏻
funny video!, so good and I enjoy so much it
Thank you so much!!

Ciao! Assolutamente, infatti va a gusti e secondo me è impossibile scegliere un “vincitore” oggettivo!😁
Which side was which tone?
Where '' you really got me ''?
This is real interesting comparision. Enjoyed it! But what if to play the same riffs next time?
3:03 i thought it's purple haze
Left was the fuzz and right was distortion, I believe
Fuzz is da goat
distortion will always be my favorite but theres nothing quite like a big muff

cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks buddy!
distortion of course! 😊😊😊
I vote Distortion! Btw, there are two ‘T’s in the band Ratt. Great video, though.
Yeah I know, I think the autocorrector of the computer changed it and I didn’t notice it 🥲
Distortion and fuzz are both good, its all how you use them.
God
War Pigs Fuzz was the best
🤘🏻🤘🏻
Impareggiabile
Grazie mille!!😁🙏🏻
Entrambi, ci stanno entrambi in pedaliera :)
Mi sembra la soluzione migliore!😁
I think... I think that it's a draw, for me those pedals made masterpieces
