I like the underrated. I always looked for the 'deep track' lick/riff on an album. That way when we played a gig it sounded like we were ahead of the curve with something new. George Lynch was always good for something exotic on the b-side (last 5 songs on the compact disc.
Lay it down is an amazing riff, thank you, Danilo. Another really underrated riff is The Sign of the Southern Cross. Sabbath has so many underrated songs.
Iommi had too many outstanding riffs to keep track of, so some got lost in the shuffle. But his two Dio-fronted albums are a masterclass in riff-making.
Ciao Danilo ! Great video and thank you to have listen the community by speaking in English with italian subtitles rather than the way around. You rock 🤘
To be totally honest I'm surprised there was nothing from Queen, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Megadeth, Dio, Judas Priest, Motörhead or even bands like Tears For Fears (Everybody Wants to Rule the World), Depeche Mode (Personal Jesus), Diamond Head (Am I Evil?), The Cult (She Sells Sanctuary or Love Removal Machine) even Yes (Owner of a Lonely Heart) but this was still great to watch. Lot of great picks especially with the underrated side, loved seeing Mr. Scary in there. George Lynch's playing is so damn good it's scary (no pun intended)
Però dai, gibson, crazy train, sweet child o mine, master of puppets... Chi vuoi che vinca? ❤
Some of these were not underrated. For example, Lay It Down and Live Wire were big hits. But I could understand why a younger audience might think they were since they no longer get the airplay of songs like Crazy Train.
Thank you! I used the Friedman BE50 and the pedals are the ones shown in the video so the Ziggy as overdrive and Sidekick JR for delay, reverb and modulations 🤘🏻
Respect for White Lion "Hungry" (one of my fav Lion's song) but 80% of the so-called "underrated" are as much major hits as in your "hits' on the left. Weird. Dokken, Ratt, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue in "Underrated" like srsly? If somebody at least once heard smth vaguely about 80s he knows all of it. I would rather understand if in your "underrated" list would be Firehouse, TNT, Treat, XYZ, Faster Pussycat, Holy Soldier, Shotgun Messiah, Signal, Guardian, Giant, Icon, Keel, Bulletboys, Trouble Tribe, Britny Fox, Lillian Axe, Enuff Z'Nuff, Babylon A.D., Bang Tango, Tora Tora but not that HUUGE bands.
All these were very popular songs back in the day when I was young. I loved the metal from the eighties and early nineties until Kurt no-brain Cobain ruined it for everyone with the shitty noise we now know as "grunge". I was perfectly happy with the metal of the day that was catchy and meaningful - not depressed and sorrowful. It's too bad that these kids of today don't know the true meaning of real music.
"so, you like being a hit? How about being hit" -Dave Mustaine to James Hetfield
😂😂😂
Hit The Lights !!
Man Dokken's riffs are criminally underrated, Mr.Scary is catchy as hell
I wonder if some of this came from their own internal fights 🤔 (total speculation btw!)
Mr Scary is so awesome. I love the solo in In My Dreams too.
Yeah i really love the Mr.Scary's riff, so sensational and fascinated, George Lynch really put a magical thing on that.@@vaibanez17
Don't Close Your Eyes is another banger.
More riff battles!
They are awesome!
Ah some damn fine riffage here...Danilo, you manage to evoke some great '80s memories here man. Wll done!
Thanks so much!😁
Long live the 80's man....
Next battle of the riffs: punk vs Grunge
I like the underrated. I always looked for the 'deep track' lick/riff on an album. That way when we played a gig it sounded like we were ahead of the curve with something new. George Lynch was always good for something exotic on the b-side (last 5 songs on the compact disc.
Yes then with Hysteria! Such a tune. So fun to play
Lay it down is an amazing riff, thank you, Danilo.
Another really underrated riff is The Sign of the Southern Cross. Sabbath has so many underrated songs.

Finally some WASP! Theyre criminally underrated to me, they got so many great songs and such an attitude
I agree! They kick ass 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Something underrated from the 80s is The Big 4 of German Thrash Metal, their riffs are amazing 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Ciao Danilo ! Great video and thank you to have listen the community by speaking in English with italian subtitles rather than the way around. You rock 🤘
All of White Lion's Pride album is forgotten now. Underrated today but not in its day! Lady of the Valley has one of the most epic solos ever.
Well done Danilo. Cheers from Portugal
Thanks so much!😁
Some brilliant riffs from both side 🎸🎸🤟👏👏
Going to have to check out the underrated more . Thanks for that 👍👍
And the hair 👌👌😂😂😂👍😎
Tbh you could do this concept entirely with Slash's riffs, basically GnR stuff vs all his other stuff!
"Lay Your Hand on Me" is the best Bon Jovi riff by far! I just miss "Dream Warriors" that is my fav riff of Dokken
Those guitars are so beautiful 🤩🤩 the flying V, the explorer, the white les Paul 😍

I know, It's impossible to pick only 9-10 hits from the 80s 😅
@@DaniloVicari Exactly, still killing it as always man
Folks, we have witnessed years of dedication, hard work and talent in this video.Just imagine the effort to have learned all those facial expressions.
One of my favorite songs of all time, Mean man from WASP. Thank you for playing that 🤘🤘
very strong man, love all of them!
Yeah those were some great underrated ones, I loved that you included Mean Man!
I would not rate "Hysteria" as underrated 😅 but anyways awesome playing and guitar tone 🤘
Its rare that enyone ever plays Lay your hands on me riff. Cool
3:10 that’s 70s
Cmon dude, Rock the Night, Lay it Down is definitely a hits!
1:31 i thought it is going to be smoke on the water, even though it is from 70s and definetly not an underrated riff 😂
had us in the first half, not gonna lie 🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha I knew it!!😂
The underrated Dokken and Ratt riffs were awesome! I didn't know either but they already kick ass on first listen!
Gracias Danillo 🤟
E per me Lay down dei Ratt is the best 🤟👋
WOW!! NICE SELECTION!!! ALL BADASS!!
Very nice video. Thank you, Danilo!
Thank YOU!🙏🏻
Always appreciate the Dokken love.
LOVED THIS !!!!!!!!!!
Some of these were not underrated. For example, Lay It Down and Live Wire were big hits. But I could understand why a younger audience might think they were since they no longer get the airplay of songs like Crazy Train.
Hysteria has such a beautiful riff!
OMG MEAN MAN! THAT'S MY FAVOURITE SONG EVER!
EXCELLENT.
Lay it down 🤟🏼
Ma che riff pazzesco è?
Grande dani bellissimo video!!
Che setup hai usato?
Def Leppard - Hysteria underrated. That song was a hit.
BRILLIANT.
Underrated 4 ever 😍😍😍
Se la cavano benissimo direi!!
For Europe, Superstitious is super underrated imo and that solo is insane.
Ain't Talkin' Bout Love came out in 1978. It's not 80s.
Bravissimo come sempre.
RATT riffs are so interesting!
Don’t forget UFO w Michael Shenker-Rock Bottom, DR. DR., Too hot to handle. 🤘🏻
Dokken is very underrated. George Lynch deserves every bit of praise.
I agree! And his riffs are so fun to play!
What pedals and/or amps were used specifically for the overdrive tones? (That was excellent!)
Thank you! I used the Friedman BE50 and the pedals are the ones shown in the video so the Ziggy as overdrive and Sidekick JR for delay, reverb and modulations 🤘🏻
Idea unica ne vogliamo ancora
Magari farle per tutta una band intera
Ciao Danilo, volevo sapere che modello è precisamente quella epiphone explorer black gold. Grazie Mille
I need to go with the hits as in the 80's I had no extra cash to purchase a full music studio of albums....
Bel video come sempre in ogni caso.
Great video, but lol@ Lay it Down being underrated.
Unfortunately if you look it against some of those biggest hits it kinda is. It's too awesome and deserves even more credit!
Dani, con quei capelli sembri quasi Malmsteen 🤣🙌🏻
Some of those hits were from the 70's. Great video and playing nonetheless
I see crazy tube circuits i hit like.. Yeah,i'm greek!
Hmmm, Not sure if you can call any song by Def Leppard under rated. Both sides were equal in the end.
Fantastic
Thank you!
🙏🏻
I must disagree with Live Wire being underrated, this little baby is a hit
Please put this song to the next underrated video: GN'R: Don't damn me. I think this song is the most underrated in the rock history. 😪🤘🤘🤘🎩
🤘
Nice ,can u do 50s or 60s battle of riffs
oh damn, going old school! I wonder how many riffs do I know from the 50's 😂
SUPERLATIV.
Your shelf needs the Eddie Van Halen Funko Pop.
La guns - electric gipsy... best r'n'r riff
White Lion❤
Randy - The Beast is one of the best 80's metal song ever
If I think underrated Mötley Crüe I think All In The Name Of...
That's also true yes! I just wanted to add Mick Mars in general because he's way too overlooked imo
Love this but It wouldve been even cooler if you had a big hit and then an underated song by the same band like you did with bon jovi.
Respect for White Lion "Hungry" (one of my fav Lion's song) but 80% of the so-called "underrated" are as much major hits as in your "hits' on the left. Weird. E a me sembra di avere tante chitarre avendone 4 xD ma quante ne hai!
Underrated is great, but the hits were greater
Timbre on Sweet Child o Mine was THE CLOSEST CLOSEST CLOSEST I EVER HEARED FROM ORIGINAL.
HONSLESTLY, tell us, you was playbacking this one, right? XD
Hai chiamato a tuo cuggino!! Ma la Charvel?? 😂
😉👍👍👍
🙏🏻
MR SCARYYYYYYYY
Aaaaargh... no scusa mi ero spaventato
Ain’t talkin bout love is late 70’s tho
It is.. I went for it super confident but my memory betrayed me, it's from 78 🥲
@@DaniloVicari happens to all of us sometimes 😄
Volevo quasi far vincere "underrated" poi hai suonato Crazy Train...
Mah,direi quelli meno popolari specialmente quello dei Ratt è favoloso
😂😂😂

Ti invidio diverse chitarre... 😅
Me le invidio anche io e ogni tanto me le guardo perchè non mi sembra vero che siano mie quindi super comprensibile 😂
Dude, I know you're not that old but you do realize a lot of those underrated songs were hits in the 80s right?
UNDERRATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
White Lion❤
