Lived in Hoboken for almost 7 years and Fiore's is truly one of the last true old soul corner shops in a ever growing young city. Must say, it's almost criminal the twice a week special Roast Beef and mutz wasn't mentioned once during this video because that sandwich alone deserves national recognition. It's true perfection!
@Ogilla thats how they say it in sicily. also, the cultural and ethnic diversity of america makes it occasionally necessary to refer to certain groups by country of origin, even if the culture has diverged significantly. also he fucking SANG IN ITALIAN IN THE VIDEO. maybe look up the history of italian american migration and italian dialects before you go running your mouth on the internet about things you dont understand.

Oh my goodness.... I used to work for Lourdes who is a descendent of the founder and opened a mozarella making operation in Boston (Fiore di Nonno, since closed) using the exact same techniques outlined in the video. I hadn't seen her in a decade, and I LITERALLY caught up with her yesterday. This makes me so happy to see!
Im living half the world away and Ive been dreaming for almost a decade now to get my family to hoboken on vacations and casually get a Fiore´s sandwich and eat in a park. So.. thanks, enjoy it
Our entire NJ crew started hitting Fiores twice a week in 2000. We would show up with a caravan of cars and double park anywhere we could fit. You get in line. Grab your bread and wait to get your fresh mozz and beef with extra gravy. We were like savages. Those are some of the most memorable times. No social media, barely internet or email, flip phones, The Jersey Shore & The Sound Factory. You can't get more Jersey than that! God Bless NYC!
As someone coming from an Italian family in NY who's owned deli's, pizzarias, and Restaurants, stories/vids like these are cool and all but the reality is it's a major stressful grind and incredibly hard way to make a living. Makes family life super tough and you basically have no life away from the biz. I respect anyone who can do it as long as this guy has and I also feel sad that people like him have to do it the way he's done it to get by. Hopefully he gets to retire and at least enjoy life for a few years at the end after all his hard work because lots of them don't make it to that point.

They have daily specials that most locals know. The roast beef is amazing. The Italian tuna with the mutz and garlic soaked peppers on a Friday is tremendous. Cash only! Before COVID you could choose your own rolls out the bin but long gone. Still the spot to go.

In the early 80s my dad had a pasta shop in Orlando FL I guess our name always had something to do with food lol and we used to make fresh mozzarella there too first time I ever made it I couldn't believe how hot the water had it be but you know what after making it you really appreciate it when you eat it God bless
Something about seeing his wife get misty eyed as he talked about his father and grandfather and uncles being spiritually in the shop with them hit me so hard. You can tell the love she spoke of wasn't just lip service.
I grew up near this place but moved to NYC years ago. Nothing in NYC holds a candle to it, and I've tried all the big names. I still take the train occasionally to Hoboken just to go to Fiore's for the roast beef, mozz & gravy. It's that good.
Da Mutz! Legendary shop. Surprised they didn't show people selecting their own bread rolls. That's something I haven't seen in other Italian joints that makes Fiore's stand out. Also, the Roast Beef & Mutz is where it's at... and get the sandwich dunked! Here's to at least another 111 years.
Everything at fiores is amazing. Corned beef and mutz?! Sounds weird right? It’s unreal how good it is. Roast beef and mutz, da best. Don’t forget the hot peppers. You’ll be able to fend off vampires for a week after those delicious peppers bathed in all of that garlic. I sure miss Hoboken. Fiores is always on my list when visiting.
Their roast beef should actually be illegal. Doused in gravy & topped with their fresh mozz. Top 5 Sandwich in the Tri-State & it’s not up for discussion
Great spot, the Amato’s are good people. They blow it out in there, tremendous. Everything is high quality but roast beef on Thursday is my favorite special…sauce on the side to dip, nice. Don’t be a strunz and drown the sandwich in the sauce, it compromises the bread. Do it nice, everything niceee
I feel like I'm missing out we really have nothing like this where I'm from in the UK. I mean I'm sure there's similar places but if I'm ever in America I'd just love to try places like this

Missing the part where they mention NYC? Why do yall feel the need to fuel NYC vs NJ food scene discourse instead of highlighting NJ's own rich deli industry? I promise you'll still get viewers if you just include the word 'deli'

To the camera crew / editors : I wish this video had more color so we can actually see the true colors of the fresh foods being presented
They didn't even color it thats the issue
"raw" journalism lmao
I can help re-edit if interested @munchies
I know, they have this grey filter to seemingly make it more vintage looking but does not do the food justice at all
Because it's "ciNeMaTIc"
This old school American deli shops are truly wonder and one of a kind
The lighting of the Mozzarella Making segment was incredible.
Props to the videography.
Reheating, not making. I believe they call it moozzarel'.
