@steveno7058 I figured as much but didn't want to be that guy hahaha I am pretty lucky I am in south east indiana. I can walk to the kentucky boarder so I have the opportunity to get my hands on more than most! Also I am 90 min or less from all of the major distilleries!!
One simple reminder, if you want to compare two whisky . Better use same glasses to eliminate the variance due to the shape of the glass for both nose and palate (glencairn glass is a good option as it's widely available and not expensive glass objectively speaking to most whisky/bourbon lovers) .For people who really wanna taste whisky and tell the nose, palate and after taste , they usually use glencairn or iso glass . Rock glass or the big stemless wine glass are really not appropriate for spirit tasting and comparison with all due respect unless you are at a cocktail bar that doesn't come with glencairn glass or at friend's place who are new to bourbon/whisky who didn't buy any glencairn glasses yet. Also, will be a plus if you can tell us the time you let the spirit resting in the glass before your sip, eg pnp, 5 mins, 10 or 15 mins as nose, palate and aftertaste usually will chance significantly for most spirits in the first 20 mins , and a much longer time eg 30-45 mins for the really good ones.
You should try a blind comparison after the EH is open for a few weeks atleast. Some bottles need to breathe. Nice video! I'd just blind and use the same glass. Cheers!
Turned down a Blanton’s for an EH last week, already have a Blantons so at worst I’m learning and experiencing. Irony is I haven’t cracked open either yet. 😂
I’ve had both Blanton’s and EH Taylor before I knew anything about palate or nose. For me, it’s not even close. Blanton’s was underwhelming where EHT blew me away.
people love to hate the Blantons, but it stands up well in blinds. it won our buffalo trace under 100 proof battle, and was 2nd or 3rd when we added the eh taylor bib's. for 60 bucks, it is one of the better bottles out there.
@whiskey1 I’ve been watching your videos for a while (I particularly enjoy your Japanese whisky wanders) but I do have some critiques: 1) for the love of God, stop calling whiskey “juice.” It’s not juice, juice is used for mimosas or given to your kids in their lunch box. It is whiskey. 2) when comparing sprits use the same kind of glassware. You don’t have to use Glencairns necessarily, but keep it consistent. 3) if you’re doing comparisons, do them blind. Have your wife or a friend pour, but take the bias out of it. Even if you don’t think you have bias, trust me, it’s always there. Keep it up! Love your videos. You keep making videos, I’ll keep watching them! I tell my in-laws all the time, you can never have too much tequila, you can only drink it too fast😂
EH Taylor is my favorite of the standard allocated buffalo trace products!!! Such a solid bottle!!!
Personally I prefer Pappy 23
@steveno7058 I was talking about their sort of attainable bottles. Also I wouldn't know I have never tried any of the pappys
@@brettmchan2855 I was joking. I can’t even sniff EH Taylor where I’m at

Excellent review. Wish I could find those prices here in FL!

I am not a fan of Blanton's at all but E.H. Taylor might be my favorite hands down.

Was Glen Karen available? The type of glass can drastically effect the nose. A tumbler is a terrible glass to nose a whisky (EH Taylor)
Just got 2 bottles of eh taylor for 44$ each drank half a bottle last night ..not bad.

I agree
Great video! Thought EHT would win hands down but was I wrong! I'll need to try this out myself!
You should double the score of the pallet. It's the most important aspect.
I would literally empty my accounts if I saw Blanton’s and/or Taylor at Costco for those prices.
If I seen it eh Taylor at Good price point I buy it
Well compare your Blanton's to eh Taylor Single Barrel

Sorry but ‘juice’ is an industry term used by some of the best master distillers in Kentucky such as Jimmy Russell
Please remove the fish net on the Blantons. Thank you
The ones with the sack taste better
But it looks cool
