    I am amazed at the negative comments on here! If u dont like the interior no one cares! It suited the person who owned it and he sold it! To me it was a home for someone who worked out of it! It provided for the needs of the person!

      Yup ... this seems like a nice WORKING Van. The solar set up, with frig, heater, etc. is super slick.
      Lots to work with here whatever your needs are.
      Thanks for the tour.

    I don't know about negative comments... I think this is a great well done practical unit. Myself I would go with lithium phosphate over the AGM. Nice little build

    • @KenMrKLC
      @KenMrKLC 3 роки тому +1

      And I will make a suggestion, 200AH LiF Battery can be had for about $800 off brand.... You would have one battery lighter and more useable AH's as lithium you can drain the entire battery before recharging

    I'm amazed how many people that aren't economically challenged look down on people that are vehicle dwelling due to very limited incomes. What really gets me are the ones that inherited a bunch of money and would be in similar circumstances had they not inherited this money.

    • @NewHampshireJack

      Radnally, you nailed it. A lot of people have no idea what it is like out in the world. Over the years, I have camped out in a few places most folks would not let their dog sleep in. The people you reference, I wager, have never observed the mounds (peoples homes) beside the runways as your flight lands in India. Living in the Philippines today, I often see real poverty up close and personal. I talking poverty we do NOT see in the US. I grew up in the home of my "great depression era" Grandparents, learned to save for the "the big one" from an early age and compounded my small stake with hard work and investing. I am comfortable today but fully prepared for the worst case scenario. Why would anyone think it a
      decent to place a stumbling block in front of a person just making their own way in life? I think all hard working folks have a disdain for the welfare queens and SS disability cheats. Folks living within their means, paying their own way and bothering no one should be lifted up and receive praise for their efforts.

      Radnally Bulls hit he could have been much neater and taken more time straiten the batteries and wires ect there is also lots of ways to make it look better for free or for cheap cheap blanket or cloth from the thrift store for covering cabinets if you can't afford doors for instance. Paint .Some people do not have the mindset to improve looks of things. They just don't care and see nothing wrong with it . Same kind of people you see in the walmart parking lot with there awnings and bbq s out dumping piss in the planters. I myself would go nuts in that thing. I wouldent spend a night in there without serious effort to make it look better. But that's me I'm weird that way

    Very nice unit. I own new a Airstream Basecamp. About the same size. It will make someone a very nice unit. For Bob Wells, to do a selling video, this person must be a dear friend. If Bob believes in the unit, and knows about. Good enough for me. Best regards 👍

    Regarding the comments about the bed should be across the back. I really like the fact that layout incorporates a work bench shop area. With this layout the back doors give excellent access for working outside and still quick access to tools and a work surface or in the shop area, Materials and projects can be easily brought in side or removed. and afford lots of ventilation for a shop. For me,,, this would be very desirable, good job and congratulation to the new owner.

    Each to his own, but he is using every square foot as it is. I wonder what he would like to give up if he goes to a smaller trailer. I think he has the perfect setup. Being a handyman myself, I need a place to tinker with things when the weather is bad. I think $4000 was a steal......and of course, Bob is the best off pavement salesman on the planet :)

    Thanks for the great video, always open to new ideas and suggestions for builds. I have a cheap Harbor freight trailer I bought 10 years ago and want to convert it into a tear drop or livable trailer. Love to see you and your videos, has inspired me to hit the road asap. Have been hosting for almost 14 years and I want to get out and not take up all my time cleaning bathrooms. Still planning the new build for the "little trailer", it's been used for my extra storage since I got it. Never thought it would do it but it now has 10,000 + miles on it only needs a new set of tires and lube job. Waiting for your high top tour. Thanks for your time and consideration for all us full timers. See you in January at the RTR. Kat

    As someone who is nearing retirement and is considering the RV lifestyle, buying a cargo trailer and outfitting it as a camper seems the way to go for me. I would need to hire someone to outfit it as i do not have the skills to do it myself. Or, I could be like
    Bill and learn as I go.

    I have a 6x12 with three agm batteries and had to skid to a stop at 55mph, If he did that those agm's sitting on the floor would by the front door with all the wiring ripped right out. I use wood blocking to prevent forward and backwood movement with straps on the battery cases holding them in place, I put my batteries in cases in case of leaks.

      Aluminum is lite , also the highest measure of radiant thermal barrier period . Most auto parts stores carry 3M
      drip rail sealer in a small tube for repair on automotive leaks . Works well on perforations in panels sealing water out . Anything over a quarter inch I used a small patch out of foil tape from the hardware store with matching paint applied over it . Thanks

      @Nostrildomus 7 років тому

      That spare on the Tung can be placed driver side so you can keep visual on it when driving highway speeds
      one new matching brand/size tire always placed on the blind spot and the best of worn tires remounted on the Tung as a 'get u home' spare . Saving you half the expense and added to your O'boma care payments .

    I just wanted to tell you Bob you are a AMAZING HUMAN BEING and just watched your last video about Wayne... very HEART TOUCHINGLY beautiful video. We many not agree on what God "is" but I think we can agree GOD IS LOVE.... and whatever God means to everyone is diffrent but as human beings we all know that it's not just about us. There is a much bigger power that is beautiful and light and love, and if we all live our lives in kindness of others and not self involved materialistic lovers of "self" then we can all welcome that day when we move on to the "next adventure". Thank you for taking the hours to make such remarkable videos Bob and TRULY THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR WISDOM AND LOVE & YOUR LIGHT WITH US. Your an amazing human being and ALWAYS GIVING &THINKING OF HOW TO MAKE OTHER PEOPLES LIVES EASIER AND MORE MEANINGFUL AND INTROSPECTIVE. I just want you to know how much you ARE TRULY LOVED AND APPRECIATED BY YOUR VIEWERS!!!i I will pray for your madre down in Florida and may the angel watch over her and all the people in Florida and place a hedge of protection around them and keep them safe🙏🏼😇👩🏻‍🌾♥️🌪⛈✌🏼🙏🏼🤞🏼

    I would love to hear his thinking on placing "Legal Domicile - Do Not Disturb" on the side of the trailer. This could cause unwanted attention. I also can see how it helps you keep people from invading your camping space, though.

      I'll take a stab at what I tend to think his 'public notice' is about. Sounds and looks like "Patriot" talk. When I refer to "Patriot" I'm referring to the people who are associated with the "Patriot Movement" which is a broad brush description that encompasses a lot of different things. It's not a lockstep movement but rather an evolving collection of philosophies and lifestyle choices. Many are just people who aren't necessarily anti-government as much as they are anti corrupt government while some are anti-government and want to exercise rights as "sovereign citizens", etc. they basically are wanting to throw off an ever increasing tyrannical government(s) as they see it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriot_movement and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sovereign_citizen_movement

      More like Trumps Corporate (sorry 4 spelling) welfare, those who profit most from a society should be glad to help those who are effected negatively by it. IE high rents, minimum wage jobs, high food costs ectra. One thing for first time jobbers living at home, quite another for midlifers victims of corporate downsizing to boost Wall Street dividends and CEO's bonuses.

      Elizabeth Jansen which is the perfect excuse for Trump dropping the corp. tax rate from 35% down to 21%, now he wants to drop it down to 20%. (Oh but hey, we can easily come up with the extra 6 billion bucks for a wall that he said Mexico would pay for. ) But hey, I got an extra $15 a month in my paycheck....until our tax break expires, oh...corp. tax rates don't expire, btw. yes and no you could easily city camp make it look like a work utility trailer , but you need something decent to pull and that may be a fuel hog, also length truck/trailer park and just haul around , would be decent in a fixed spot for sure,, but on the other hand you could detach and just drive tow vehicle to town supplies etc just as long as you had a good looking system or remove trailer tire maybe let air out etc ...scary today cause a lot of people have hitchs and it could easily disappear

    Actually I think the carpentry is pretty good here, as is the design. I am guessing this fellow is a tradesman of some sort. It looks like he has an electrical shop built in here. However I am not sure about the economics of this versus just buying a used small travel trailer. We have a ten year old Jayco that we have about the same investment in as he does here and I think it has a better living space than this trailer. I grant you our unit does not have the boondocking ability this one does. But at any rate I think this is a remarkable piece of work.

    I never understand why a 5' 10" guy wouldn't put his bed across the back and save all that room in the middle for other uses. I realize it takes the same volume but, seems like it would be more useful. There could be storage above or another bunk, and it just looks more space savvy. JMO. All in all, a good deal for someone who could make it their own. Much stronger than a commercially built trailer.

      @small footprint I haven't built an interior yet, but I have given it a lot of thought. And here's the reason I offer you as to why you would build across the back. It gives you the illusion of having, space. You're in a 6 x 10 space day in and day out. Less really, those are the outside dimensions. With insulation and wall covering it could easily be an inch or inch and a half less for L and W. I think a tiny space like that could wear on some peoples nerves during the course of a winter or year in year out.Additionally to my thinking this leaves room for chairs ( folding or otherwise) and guest with their chairs. I think the feeling that you're not bumping into something every time you turn, is a big plus on handling some mental stress. Make sense?

      It's a man cave.
      But if I would have seen it before...
      That raw wood could be carved with flowers and rubbed with wax. The drawers could be polished and more low relief nature scenes. It's such a perfect place to start from.
      Keep looking. All in His timing.

    I'd for sure would need a larger trailer ,for i own Tools. But this is a simple and way to live cheaper shall i say economical. These days a cheap hotel room can cost a hundred bucks a night.....hell I can shower in the rain. But cool idea.

    Hey he said he wants to go smaller. That's why selling but What is benefit of going smaller. Seems like for home couldn't go much smaller at all. It's solar powered so there is no money savings in smaller . For what reason would one want to go 2 feet smaller for. Newbie. Just trying to understand things. . Thank u.

      A lot of people start out in something larger but after they've been in it for awhile, they decide that they really didn't need as much room so they'll downsize.

    If they built a slight slanted nose (front), it will look much better and more aerodynamic when towing. Put a standard RV AC on the roof top with 30-amp hook up.
    With roof top solar panels, a small hail will destroy them.

    Here's a practical question...when you travel with a cargo trailer and you get set up in camp, perhaps alone, do you leave the trailer and take the tow vehicle to the grocery store or on errands? I'm wondering if people mess with your stuff if you do.

    • @pearlllllgarcia
      @pearlllllgarcia 7 років тому +4

      That is a good question. From a another thread I read, I think it is just like campgrounds. Some you don't worry at all and others you better have everything locked up. When everything you own is in that trailer must be a difficult choice. In a few of these videos, the persons stated they were not camping alone and were around others they felt comfortable with.
