I just played this to my Mum, Shirley Davis, she ran his fan club in the 50’s and it made her night. She said it was like being back with Guy. Thank you
Seeing Guy Mitchell in concert was a once in a lifetime dream that I was blessed with some years ago. Meeting him and his wife after his show was the proverbial icing on the cake. A hero for the ages and a world class gentleman. He is greatly, greatly missed.
First time I've ever seen Guy Mitchell perform. For years on end, especially whilst driving, I played my tape of him singing and nothing else. So much variety, sad songs too but mostly very cheering and enlightening. Great voice, phrasing and pure musicality. Superb.
Brilliant! I recall watching this on British TV at the time (I thought it was a bit earlier than 84') Loved it then, and loved listening to it again. Guy Mitchell really was a star! His voice sounded as good as when he made those records, 30 years earlier!
I thought this was some American country & western folk show from the early 1970s I expected Dolly Parton to appear at the end of the song not Cannon and bloody Ball

...So are the multitude of artists we have lost over the years. They had talent, right?
Guy Mitchells recordings were superbly produced and his voice was a recording engineers dream . *****

Guy's voice sounds the same live as his recordings 30 odd yrs later. Terrific, I think he's had a drink or two here, good for him.

So underrated
PJ Colwell, Judging by the leisure suit I would think this was taped around 1975-1979. Either way great music and singing by Guy Mitchell.
Very popular this singer in the 50s

No whistling on "Singing the Blues" :(
On the record, yes. On this clip, from more than 26 years later, no.
