After watching this back I think I'm going to go back to studio lighting and just film my mid-day check-ins in natural lighting. I felt like my camera was struggling to focus in the dimmer light and it wasn't as clear and crisp as my videos usually are, which made it harder to see. ❤️

Bet that Almay tint goes viral if they have decent shades. Shouldn’t be hard since tints are pretty forgiving. For the lighting, it helps when filters are removed and you do a check in in daylight at some point if you can’t figure out all the lighting and stuff. Taylor Wynn, Geek Out of Water does this and you see a huge difference between indoor and outdoor, even when you can get some natural lighting inside for filming. I don’t envy makeup influencers for this reason since so much is out into set up and getting an accurate look when you can’t be sitting outside every day to film with your collection, a table, mirror, camera, etc on a rolling cart or something. Lol I give you guys all the credit in the world for what you do. More work than we can even imagine I know.
I like the new natural lighting. I usually watch a few videos on my TV before bed, and my husband who never comments on my beauty UA-cam stuff said last week that your videos hurt his eyes because they’re so bright. 🤣
You do you but I also liked this lighting much better. I've only watched you for about two years but I found I was always squinting at my tablet because your studio lights were so bright. I also watched you on my big TV but it didn't help. Your face looked so real in natural light.

Exactly! Also remember tho, products work differently on everyone. However, if Jen says something is oily/greasy, I KNOW it won’t work for me, as she has dry skin and I’m still slightly oily in the T zone (at 52 😮).

I am 75 so be gracious 😊 I remember, in high school, using a #2 soft pencil to fill in my eyebrows. And then Max Factor taupe eye pencil…never found anything better than the Max Factor pencil. Today I continue to search for the perfect…would settle for adequate brow product.
everyone’s been saying brow pencils are usually too warm and i definitely agree. can get away with it since i have a neutral undertone but i wish there were more cool and neutral brow pencils 😭 why haven’t companies been listening to all this feedback? also use blush in my crease all the time. really pulls a look together. essence’s shadows have gotten so good in the last few years, i’m so happy about it! also really love the sky high mascara ☺️

@@judiwhiteaker1372 mac might have. but i’m not spending that much on something i’m gonna need to replace in a few months 😂 also not really cool toned per se, but maybelline’s slim express brow pencil thingy and the slim catrice brow pencils are great and last ages for me. also setting brow pencils with a clear or tinted brow gel helps them to last. can even set your brows with powder if need be.

The past two years I’ve purchased 14 foundations, lower priced, and high priced. One of my absolute favorite foundations is Almay TLC. Even though the shade range is awful, I found one that is perfect for my skin tone. Who knew? I’m going to try this latest tint from Almay. Thanks for the honest reviews!
Thank you for filming in natural light. It truly give a much better sense of the colors etc. Matte lips just don't work for me. Too drying and most give a very unflattering look at the end of the day. I agree with someone elses comment regarding ...a bad review is better thsn a good one 😅
Almay is such a dinosaur brand in every way. They’ve been around forever and their products are usually very old school, but every blue moon it when all the stars align, they come out with some really great products. It’s just years and years between them accomplishing this. Years back it was skin perfecting comfort stick concealer, then the butter kiss lip balms then the lip vibes that have the benefit packaging then the most recent has been the healthy hue blushes and those came out what two three years ago? I am shocked they have even been able to stay in business with how long it is before they launch a good product, but those launches that do go wild, it’s for very good reason. If only they could do this on a regular basis they might not be overlooked all the time. They need a revamp too. Everything is so blah that nothing even catches your eyes.
The only product I've purchased from them were 2 of the lip vibe lipsticks. One in matte the other reg. Even then I only bought them because I had a coupon and some reward bucks, lol. They were just okay to me. Every time I go into CVS, once a month, I always get a coupon from them. It never fails. I walk right pass their area. If I wasn't impressed with those lipsticks I'm not about to waste my money on anything else from them... 🤷♀️
That Nyx Multistick concealer is so good for being multipurpose and a stick. If you can find your shade in the Physician’s Formula… like the two they have, the old school stick concealer is the most buttery skin like but with great coverage and staying power that I’ve found in a stick concealer. It’s called Gentle Cover. It’s really good. That Elf tubing mascara meant to dupe Thrive tubing mascara is so good, if you are wanting a quality tubing mascara that actually comes off in tubes. It does everything Thrive does for far less.

I thought I was the only one that experienced extreme smudging with Essence mascaras. I'm so relieved it isn't just me! This was a really great video, though! You accompanied me through dicing all of my vegetables for chicken and rice soup! Thank you for the wear tests!
I bought the pink lash like a boss. OK the heaviest mascara ever. Dragged my lashes down and I hate how long the wand is. I haven't tried any of the princess ones because they look to wet.
Nope! It’s not just you! It flakes and smudges on me! I swear those who gave it great reviews didn’t wear it for an entire day! It is one of the worst I’ve tried!
I always had difficulty finding brow pencils that worked from the drugstore, they usually pulled very orange & were very waxy. For the longest time I just used a taupe eyeshadow & clear mascara. Taupe eye pencils were pretty non existent at the drugstore. Some taupes or ash browns look green which is not ideal either.
I'm just now going for lighter foundations like tints. I finally got hold of the Covergirl essence and wasn't sure at first, but now liking it. I've found I do need to powder with it which I don't often have to do but it's pretty tho. Loved the Chanel complexion touch as well. I'm now intrigued by the Almay. I recently heard their similar looking concealer is good as well. Will look into both now. ❤ I did try that nyx pink brightener stick and do like it. Blends nicely.
@@judiwhiteaker1372 Oh I wear the Maybelline Fresh BB Cream! It's a very decent tinted moisturizer that works well on my extremely dry skin. And it's great when I'm in a hurry because it doesn't need a lot of blending.
The first thing I noticed was how much better the lighting looks! Please consider keeping this. I often find the studio lights add a warmth and a lot of times, I can't see how cool toned you are. I sometimes mistakenly think certain colors would work for me because they look warmer on screen than you describe them to be
Hi Jen! Have you ever tried Aquaphor healing ointment as your everyday lip balm? (Not the lip ointment but the regular healing ointment) My lips used to be so dry until I switched to this. Always look forward to your videos!
Yes I have! My lips unfortunately have a lot of lines in them which makes them look dry even when they're not. The only way they look better is if I wear a gloss or something that fills in the lines. 🫤
I'm all for natural light. Somehow you look more real now if it makes sense. I'm sorry you haven't lucked out this time with the drugstore makeup. My last buying experience was waaaay different. I wanted a big handheld mirror, but all were ugly. I saw Catrice limited edition eyeshadow palette "Life in paradise" from collection "Wild escape" on sale for less than half the price. It's beautiful with flower/leafy motif and has a big clear mirror. I bought it for that, but the shadows were really nice inside. Reminds me of 1960-70 colour choice. And I use them when I'm in a mood for one eyeshadow look with bold eyeliner😊 Now I have a good mirror and nice eyeshadow as a bonus🎉
Was so excited when I saw that nano brow. And excited for soft brown but yeah it’s too warm for me. I looked on the website & they done even have an ash color. I’ll stick to my NYX in ash. Thanks so much for trying it out!

Hi jen, as a fellow dry lip girlie, (these are not matte), but my favorite long wearing lippie is the colorpop glossy lip stain, i have alot of shades because i love it so much haha, my most worn shade is big apple, which is a blue red.I also really like the milani color fetish balm lipsticks, not to be confused with the matte version. I got the shade fantasy and it wasnt at all the color i expected, but its still gorgeous, its a beautiful raspberry/cranberry color that i love to wear along with some sort of green on my eyes. Its literally a balm lipstick that feels really nice. I just cant wear matte lipsticks, i hate the feeling and it makes my lips so dry. Expecially now its winter, my lips are so dry the corners of my mouth actually cracked open.
I really like the natural light. Too bad about the eye powder palettes...not my favorite colors in any case. The mascara, NO.... I do like the dryness of the Lash Princess however, and it has staying power and no clumping or fallout during the day. The concealer looks great and I would definitely try this as well as the brow products. I am a light blonde so those colors would work for me. Put a good lip moisturizer under the blur lip color to see if that works or just use the moisturizing lip colors..they look great on you, Jen!🌟
Ive been liking the new Covergirl brow products! I returned the pencil for a deeper shade and its now my go to...same with the wax. I like the wax because it doesnt flake or get crusty in the slightest. Also some people might not like that it doesnt make ur brows super stiff/held into place but i actually like that about it. It gives my brows volume and depth while not being plastered to my face. Loved this review Jen 😊❤
I tried the essence face palette today. It really wasn’t a favorite of mine. I don’t see me reaching for it again. I found it to be patchy going on and faded patchy.
Hi Jen! Another great review video. I actually thought the Wet n Wild lipsticks looked fantastic on you in all three shades, and I thought their wear time was impressive. Yes there was slight fading on your upper lip but overall I think they rival more expensive blur formulas. The concealer was also impressive. Didn’t know Nyx had a stick come out so thank you! Convenient as you mentioned. As far as your lighting, I like both however the natural light seemed extra nice today. Stay well! 😘
Hi Jen. I too love the Fluff and Hold. It’s pricey for me and lately it’s been flaking. Morgan Turner tried the brand Unleashia. The tube looks very similar and it also has the same brush under the cap. I purchased mine on Amazon and I’m loving it. Holds so well.

PS Natural light is always best! I take my makeup to a local park when I can and do my face while sitting in bright shade because I love natural light so much!
I always put makeup on outside or near a window. I made those mistakes when younger thinking my makeup looked good then looking in my car mirror and was horrified. 😱 🧟♀️

I felt like the natural lighting was more blurry and harder to see detail… maybe do swatches in natural light as well to show a comparison? Though that may be too much of a hassle! I agree with others that your skin is beautiful! I appreciate the dedication to showing the colors as true to life as possible!

I love the NYX Brow pen too! I just tried it about a month ago and can’t believe I hadn’t tried it before now! It makes my brows look so full and natural and making the brow hairs is really easy! I thought that would require practice, but the brush tip makes it effortless.
Same here. Even the blonde shades usually look "fake" or too dark on me. My current favorite(also only $3.00) is the Elf Instant Lift Brow Pencil which is a softer crayon feeling pencil. I have tried pretty much every blonde brow product that exists.
How do you remove it? I had so much trouble removing it that I threw it away. Also, on me, it didn't perform well. It went on OK and looked all right, but it smeared and flaked.
Thank you for showing the Essence mascara. I feel like I was the only one that had no luck with those mascaras and this was helpful. Lash princesses always smudge on me. Even the waterproof one.
Hello! Thanks for the tea on these new products. I just bought the nyx stick concealer and am relieved it’s not terrible! It was difficult to see the makeup on your face in the natural light. I don’t mind initial application under lighting and a natural light check in. I think it works. Steff’s Beauty Stash does initial application under home studio lights in am and checks in under rough office lighting during a 12 hour work day. It works!
Waaaaah 😮 i already bought that Essence palette several days ago and am just waiting for it to come. I already own the Peach Blossom Palette in the same packaging and don't recall having had a notable reaction to it, so i figured this Bloom pair would be equally decent. Oh, well. Jen, can you do a video on some thing that nobody really talks about but yet we’ve all noticed. The prices of drugstore make up how they have gotten up there these past couple of years . For example, you’re featuring this cover girl clear brow wax that is $11.99 at the drugstore. Rare Beauty has a really good clear brow gel and that is $15 even. For the extra 3 dollars I would probably go for the Rare Beauty. Because it’s a good one and it makes me feel good when I am putting on higher end make up then from the drugstore. I know it’s silly but it does make me feel good. Getting back to drugstore prices… Particularly revlon and L’Oreal. Their foundations are close to $20. Some are over $20 depending on which drugstore you use. Many Bullet lipsticks in the drugstore are also up there. It would be interesting to compare prices with drugstore versus Ulta and Sephora for similar performing products .
Agree about stick formula concealers until I used the Erborian one which looks like a chubby crayon and is amazing. Sadly they discontinued it but Nadine Bagott (v good UK beauty and skincare journalist) has hinted they are bringing another one out so 🤞🤞. Also agree re lack of cool toned brow stuff. In fact across the board I think us that suit cool tones are ignored! The best shade I've found is a Soap & Glory micro brow pencil in the blonde colour - not sure if you can get S & G in the US. It's about the colour of ABH in taupe but cooler. Also the thicker pencil from Elf in taupe is cooler but I like a thinner nib. There's a good shade in the Essence range too but it's v soft and doesn't stay on so well. Emma x

A bit off yopic from your review, but thanks for the tip of using the NYX glitter glue! I've been using it for a while now and it really amps up shimmers, as well as adding to their longevity!
Nice to see you giving Almay some love :), they are by no means exciting or trendy but I do think they are one of those brands that tries to make nice products for mature skin. I find all my essence mascara’s smudge as well. I like the natural lighting. Thanks for the review, maybe those essence powders are for the younger gals, that don’t have the fine lines we have as we get older, I know my daughter can slap anything on her young plump skin and it usually looks good lol.
My favorite (drugstore) brow pencil is nyx the have ash brown and it perfect. ABH ash brown is great for high end but they are almost the same. And ELF Wow brow is my favorite gel.
I bought the Covergirl brow pencil and hated it also. The color I got was way too red as well. I used it twice and tossed it. It was expensive for the amount of product you got.
Love the look of that Almay foundation. That's a score and I'll get it on Amazon. Please update when you retry it with cream blush. Nice shade on you, too. That brow color is a no-go, though. Too warm. Essence mascaras suck! Hate 'em all!
I actually prefer seeing you put the make up on with the studio lights and then showing the outside light after everything done so that I know how I look inside the house and outside in public. Thanks for all you do to help us know about product.

Hi Jen, did you see that Moira came out with a new glitter glue, watch out NYX. I’m excited that Makeup Forever my favorite foundation is coming out with a new one - HD Skin Hydra Glow Foundation with Hyaluronic acid, can’t wait to see reviews of it. Well you saved us money with some of those products, shame on the Essence pallets cause their little 6 pans are amazing and so good.
I have never had success with any of the Essence eye shadows, they aren't pigmented or easy to blend. I don't like most of the Essence mascaras because they smudge on me or flake on my lower lash line. Thanks for letting me know about the WnW Soft Blur lipstick, when I saw your short on them, I was curious, but my lips are very dry and if the scent is that strong this is easily a pass for me.

Brown pastel pencil here, 63 and I was an art major. I have used soft pastels on my lids and cheeks 😬

Have you tried Catrice's Date with Ashton or Ashy Drama? It's a regular wood pencil that can be sharpened and it has a cooler undertone.

Almay tint is really nice for mature & dry skin. It evens out skintone without looking cakey or unnatural. Color Tan was perfect.

That Nyx Multistick concealer is so good for being multipurpose and a stick. If you can find your shade in the Physician’s Formula… like the two they have, the old school stick concealer is the most buttery skin like but with great coverage and staying power that I’ve found in a stick concealer. It’s called Gentle Cover. It’s really good.
That Elf tubing mascara meant to dupe Thrive tubing mascara is so good, if you are wanting a quality tubing mascara that actually comes off in tubes. It does everything Thrive does for far less.
Yes the elf mascara is my favorite!! I have an entire dedicated video where I compared it to the Thrive and I like the elf just as much!

I thought I was the only one that experienced extreme smudging with Essence mascaras. I'm so relieved it isn't just me! This was a really great video, though! You accompanied me through dicing all of my vegetables for chicken and rice soup! Thank you for the wear tests!
I hate Essence mascaras too! I have hooded eyes and they always smudge on my brow area.
I bought the pink lash like a boss. OK the heaviest mascara ever. Dragged my lashes down and I hate how long the wand is. I haven't tried any of the princess ones because they look to wet.
Nope! It’s not just you! It flakes and smudges on me! I swear those who gave it great reviews didn’t wear it for an entire day! It is one of the worst I’ve tried!

I always had difficulty finding brow pencils that worked from the drugstore, they usually pulled very orange & were very waxy. For the longest time I just used a taupe eyeshadow & clear mascara. Taupe eye pencils were pretty non existent at the drugstore. Some taupes or ash browns look green which is not ideal either.
I like the taupe NYX micro-brow pencil. Perfect cool tone on me
Catrice eyebrow stylist pencil in 020 date with ash-ton is my go to drugstore pencil 😊
If you use brush with the tint it has more coverage

I'm just now going for lighter foundations like tints. I finally got hold of the Covergirl essence and wasn't sure at first, but now liking it. I've found I do need to powder with it which I don't often have to do but it's pretty tho. Loved the Chanel complexion touch as well. I'm now intrigued by the Almay. I recently heard their similar looking concealer is good as well. Will look into both now. ❤
I did try that nyx pink brightener stick and do like it. Blends nicely.
Have you tried the Maybelline Fresh BB Cream? I have really dry skin and it looks natural. I wear it a lot to extend my NARS foundation.
@@judiwhiteaker1372 Oh I wear the Maybelline Fresh BB Cream! It's a very decent tinted moisturizer that works well on my extremely dry skin. And it's great when I'm in a hurry because it doesn't need a lot of blending.
The first thing I noticed was how much better the lighting looks! Please consider keeping this. I often find the studio lights add a warmth and a lot of times, I can't see how cool toned you are. I sometimes mistakenly think certain colors would work for me because they look warmer on screen than you describe them to be
I can still make the studio lights cooler. I didn't realize how warm they were set. 🥰
Hi Jen! Have you ever tried Aquaphor healing ointment as your everyday lip balm? (Not the lip ointment but the regular healing ointment) My lips used to be so dry until I switched to this. Always look forward to your videos!
Yes I have! My lips unfortunately have a lot of lines in them which makes them look dry even when they're not. The only way they look better is if I wear a gloss or something that fills in the lines. 🫤
I'm all for natural light. Somehow you look more real now if it makes sense. I'm sorry you haven't lucked out this time with the drugstore makeup. My last buying experience was waaaay different. I wanted a big handheld mirror, but all were ugly. I saw Catrice limited edition eyeshadow palette "Life in paradise" from collection "Wild escape" on sale for less than half the price. It's beautiful with flower/leafy motif and has a big clear mirror. I bought it for that, but the shadows were really nice inside. Reminds me of 1960-70 colour choice. And I use them when I'm in a mood for one eyeshadow look with bold eyeliner😊 Now I have a good mirror and nice eyeshadow as a bonus🎉
I also put my clear brow gel in first, move onto my shadow, then go back to my brows and fill in with a pencil or pen.
Was so excited when I saw that nano brow. And excited for soft brown but yeah it’s too warm for me. I looked on the website & they done even have an ash color. I’ll stick to my NYX in ash. Thanks so much for trying it out!

Hi jen, as a fellow dry lip girlie, (these are not matte), but my favorite long wearing lippie is the colorpop glossy lip stain, i have alot of shades because i love it so much haha, my most worn shade is big apple, which is a blue red.I also really like the milani color fetish balm lipsticks, not to be confused with the matte version. I got the shade fantasy and it wasnt at all the color i expected, but its still gorgeous, its a beautiful raspberry/cranberry color that i love to wear along with some sort of green on my eyes. Its literally a balm lipstick that feels really nice. I just cant wear matte lipsticks, i hate the feeling and it makes my lips so dry. Expecially now its winter, my lips are so dry the corners of my mouth actually cracked open.
I really like the natural light. Too bad about the eye powder palettes...not my favorite colors in any case. The mascara, NO.... I do like the dryness of the Lash Princess however, and it has staying power and no clumping or fallout during the day. The concealer looks great and I would definitely try this as well as the brow products. I am a light blonde so those colors would work for me. Put a good lip moisturizer under the blur lip color to see if that works or just use the moisturizing lip colors..they look great on you, Jen!🌟

Ive been liking the new Covergirl brow products! I returned the pencil for a deeper shade and its now my go to...same with the wax. I like the wax because it doesnt flake or get crusty in the slightest. Also some people might not like that it doesnt make ur brows super stiff/held into place but i actually like that about it. It gives my brows volume and depth while not being plastered to my face. Loved this review Jen 😊❤

I tried the essence face palette today. It really wasn’t a favorite of mine. I don’t see me reaching for it again. I found it to be patchy going on and faded patchy.
It looked to me like the shadows had faded on Jen's lids. However, my monitor isn't the greatest.
Hi Jen! Another great review video. I actually thought the Wet n Wild lipsticks looked fantastic on you in all three shades, and I thought their wear time was impressive. Yes there was slight fading on your upper lip but overall I think they rival more expensive blur formulas. The concealer was also impressive. Didn’t know Nyx had a stick come out so thank you! Convenient as you mentioned. As far as your lighting, I like both however the natural light seemed extra nice today. Stay well! 😘

Hi Jen. I too love the Fluff and Hold. It’s pricey for me and lately it’s been flaking. Morgan Turner tried the brand Unleashia. The tube looks very similar and it also has the same brush under the cap. I purchased mine on Amazon and I’m loving it. Holds so well.

I returned the NYX color corrector (green). I found it too thick and dry to be layered on top of.
Girl I have the ashy brow issue also. ABH and gxve are the only I've found that work for me
PS Natural light is always best! I take my makeup to a local park when I can and do my face while sitting in bright shade because I love natural light so much!
I always put makeup on outside or near a window. I made those mistakes when younger thinking my makeup looked good then looking in my car mirror and was horrified. 😱 🧟♀️
I do my brows first too with a brow clear gel, I do eyeshadow then base. Once done, I use a pencil or liquid liner.
I agree w/yr reviews on this video. I like the Covergirl eyebrow gel. The NYX Concealer is lovely. Those Almay lippies look great. I like both lightenings. TFS! Great video. Hey Jen! I personally like the natural light vs the studio lights because it shows the true look of the makeup. I find studio lights hide what the makeup actually does. You’re beautiful as always!!
I felt like the natural lighting was more blurry and harder to see detail… maybe do swatches in natural light as well to show a comparison? Though that may be too much of a hassle! I agree with others that your skin is beautiful! I appreciate the dedication to showing the colors as true to life as possible!
I agree...my camera was trying to hard to focus in the dimmer light and it looked way more sharp at the end when I turned on the lights!

I love the NYX Brow pen too! I just tried it about a month ago and can’t believe I hadn’t tried it before now! It makes my brows look so full and natural and making the brow hairs is really easy! I thought that would require practice, but the brush tip makes it effortless.
I feel your pain on brow products, mine are blonde. Products marked as blonde are not anywhere near my shade.
Same here. Even the blonde shades usually look "fake" or too dark on me. My current favorite(also only $3.00) is the Elf Instant Lift Brow Pencil which is a softer crayon feeling pencil. I have tried pretty much every blonde brow product that exists.
I have ultra dry skin and I love the CG stick is one of my favorite concealers

I live in Paraguay and just recently discovered the Sky High mascara. I love it. It was nice ti hear you like it too😊
How do you remove it? I had so much trouble removing it that I threw it away. Also, on me, it didn't perform well. It went on OK and looked all right, but it smeared and flaked.
I use an non oily eye make up remover and it comes off easily for me.

Hello! Thanks for the tea on these new products. I just bought the nyx stick concealer and am relieved it’s not terrible! It was difficult to see the makeup on your face in the natural light. I don’t mind initial application under lighting and a natural light check in. I think it works. Steff’s Beauty Stash does initial application under home studio lights in am and checks in under rough office lighting during a 12 hour work day. It works!
That's what I usually do too. I think the studio lights help my camera to focus better.
Waaaaah 😮 i already bought that Essence palette several days ago and am just waiting for it to come. I already own the Peach Blossom Palette in the same packaging and don't recall having had a notable reaction to it, so i figured this Bloom pair would be equally decent. Oh, well. Agreed on the brow colors on the market always lean too warm (even when I go for taupes)….I don’t get it since most prefer ashy. Now I just go straight for greys.
Definitely natural light Jen, I find so many people are using lighting that is so harsh and bright you struggle to see. I loved the natural light but whatever you decide, you are my favourite and I won't mind. Lots of love from the UK. xxx

Jen, can you do a video on some thing that nobody really talks about but yet we’ve all noticed.
The prices of drugstore make up how they have gotten up there these past couple of years .
For example, you’re featuring this cover girl clear brow wax that is $11.99 at the drugstore.
Rare Beauty has a really good clear brow gel and that is $15 even.
For the extra 3 dollars I would probably go for the Rare Beauty. Because it’s a good one and it makes me feel good when I am putting on higher end make up then from the drugstore. I know it’s silly but it does make me feel good.
Getting back to drugstore prices…
Particularly revlon and L’Oreal.
Their foundations are close to $20. Some are over $20 depending on which drugstore you use.
Many Bullet lipsticks in the drugstore are also up there.
It would be interesting to compare prices with drugstore versus Ulta and Sephora for similar performing products .
Hi jen for matte lipsticks i always put lip balm underneath let it set a sec and then apply the matte lipstick. Doesn't take away from the matte look.

Agree about stick formula concealers until I used the Erborian one which looks like a chubby crayon and is amazing. Sadly they discontinued it but Nadine Bagott (v good UK beauty and skincare journalist) has hinted they are bringing another one out so 🤞🤞. Also agree re lack of cool toned brow stuff. In fact across the board I think us that suit cool tones are ignored! The best shade I've found is a Soap & Glory micro brow pencil in the blonde colour - not sure if you can get S & G in the US. It's about the colour of ABH in taupe but cooler. Also the thicker pencil from Elf in taupe is cooler but I like a thinner nib. There's a good shade in the Essence range too but it's v soft and doesn't stay on so well. Emma x

Nice to see you giving Almay some love :), they are by no means exciting or trendy but I do think they are one of those brands that tries to make nice products for mature skin. I find all my essence mascara’s smudge as well. I like the natural lighting. Thanks for the review, maybe those essence powders are for the younger gals, that don’t have the fine lines we have as we get older, I know my daughter can slap anything on her young plump skin and it usually looks good lol.
I love that concealer . I love stick makeup and I wear very little. At my age less is more.
My favorite (drugstore) brow pencil is nyx the have ash brown and it perfect. ABH ash brown is great for high end but they are almost the same. And ELF Wow brow is my favorite gel.
Yes!! Nyx Ash Brown is perfect. I use the pen form of that one.

I bought the Covergirl brow pencil and hated it also. The color I got was way too red as well. I used it twice and tossed it. It was expensive for the amount of product you got.
Love the look of that Almay foundation. That's a score and I'll get it on Amazon. Please update when you retry it with cream blush. Nice shade on you, too. That brow color is a no-go, though. Too warm. Essence mascaras suck! Hate 'em all!

Hi Jen, did you see that Moira came out with a new glitter glue, watch out NYX. I’m excited that Makeup Forever my favorite foundation is coming out with a new one - HD Skin Hydra Glow Foundation with Hyaluronic acid, can’t wait to see reviews of it. Well you saved us money with some of those products, shame on the Essence pallets cause their little 6 pans are amazing and so good.

I have never had success with any of the Essence eye shadows, they aren't pigmented or easy to blend. I don't like most of the Essence mascaras because they smudge on me or flake on my lower lash line. Thanks for letting me know about the WnW Soft Blur lipstick, when I saw your short on them, I was curious, but my lips are very dry and if the scent is that strong this is easily a pass for me.
I didn’t have much luck with the Essence mascaras either. They all smudged terribly on me. Even the waterproof Lash Princess. I don’t get it 🤷♀️. I’m going to check out the glosses. They look pretty and I like thicker formulas.
