- It's about time we got a new Supermini as Ford has binned the Fiesta and Nissan is getting rid of the Micra so there isn't much choice left on the market Suzuki wants to get more conquest sales on the board.

I have a swift and a mondeo Octavia like car.. Difference is minimal in space, and the drive is much better around town.. ❤ The engine is Toyota quality

That's what we need. Small cheap cars. Big SUV just don't make sense . But there's something about the Swift's looks I can't get over, it just doesn't look right.

Previous versions of the swift looked better IMO. The shape of this is a bit odd from some angles.

Fantastic video as always Bob! Just so chill and no nonsense. I have a 2019 Swift Sport and when I saw this new gen, I really didn’t like it. Maybe that’ll be different when I see it in person.
I’m just happy the lane keeping shite is memorised on mine so the only thing I have to turn off is the auto start stop which I hate because I care about engines.
That speed and sat nav beep would drive me nuts but I have like a checklist mindset before I set off so I might be able to tolerate it.
I really doubt Suzuki has the time or are willing to change that now.

I have a Vitara from this generation and even though it’s older version of security systems compared to this Swift, it still beeps A LOT we have given the car a name just to tell it to shut up 😂

Hi Bob. Grest video as always. I just bought the out going model last week. Because its outgoing they loaded it with loads of extras and its mild hybrid. They seem alot better than the 2018 micra i traded in

I Don't think this is the gentlemans' ideal job, but i think he is brave as his speech is like this due to possibly having mouth cancer, look at his scar on his arm and around ear to neck. All the best butt for the future

Just hoping they are releasing a Sport version in future.
They've ruined the look of what was a cool little car.
I have the current model SZ5 Mild Hybrid with 1.0L 3 cyl Boosterjet Engine which has 109bhp. Got to say very underwhelmed by the new model, it just looks liKe a facelift of my car. Slightly different at the front, and the tail lamps slightly different as well. Interior is almost identical apart from the larger infotainment screen. Overall the car is not that much different. The main disappointment is the engine only delivering about 90bhp, don't get me wrong I love my Swift, but to release a new model almost identical with a lesser powered engine is a backwards step by Suzuki.

Great review, I kinda wish I was in the market for one. However, grateful for your view, I'm driving a Fabia and gonna change; I regularly drive return Belfast - Cork, and tho I'd love to go electric I can neither afford it nor trust the battery life ) charging infrastructure. Will trade in for something maybe 3 years old. Am looking at diesel, Suberb preferably 190 but more likely 150, or Octavia vRS 200. What do you reckon ? Anything else I should consider ? Many thanks.
I find it strange that car manufacturers are leaving the city car segment, leaves a lot of space for those that remain. I'm not a fan of the Swift's looks, my wife has a Yaris and I think it looks better, with Mazda re-badging the Yaris and selling it as a Mazda 2 I'd bet that those cars will take a lot of historical Fiesta / Micra / Polo sales.

Bob is recovering from mouth cancer. I agree it's a little difficult at times but that's his accent! Turn up the volume and you can understand him fine. Good review and a nice car. Bring back the superminis!

Very good review. I don't think there are any improvements in the looks department over the outgoing model(I have the non hybrid Sport) , but things move on. There seems to be some confusion as to wether there will be a Sport version coming to the UK. I hope so. The only complaint I have with my Swift is how thin the paint is and how easily it marks a scratches, it is however very lustrous in the Sun. It wouldn't put me off buying another. After 20 years of trouble free Suzuki motoring I won't be looking at another brand just yet.👍😀
I have the non hybrid sport too (192 reg) and yeah the pain is very thin. I’m curious as well if there will be a Sport or not. I highly doubt I will upgrade as the looks are so sketchy for me. I’m fine with it here because it’s in red and mine is too but the other colours were very meh in my eyes. I will definitely go and see it though in person when it arrives.

It's utterly bizarre that the EU has turned every car review into "how do you turn the car's features off" or "this car is less/more annoying than the competition". I genuinely believe it will make more people vote for anti-EU parties at the coming elections this year.
But at least the EU is bringing the knobs back in cars for safety reasons.

These new EU driver interference packages seem to be aggravating everyone who encounters them. They may even be more of a hazard than a help by unnecessarily distracting and frustrating drivers into collisions.
I traded in my awful, boring Fiesta two years ago, in favour of a 2019 Swift. I have not stopped smiling since. But this latest offering seems to have lost its good looks. I am sure it will still be huge fun to drive, but...

That beeping is a head wrecker alright, but what’s the story with the 1980s menu and little stick to change it that just awful.
I don't like the design. I thought new swift will be very beautiful when updated. But not getting upto the mark.
