Oh man, the l2p was utterly savage but completely deserved. Always satisfying when you meet someone even more toxic than you and get some guilt-free trash talking time.
I love it, the xp50 gets baited by the g55 long enough for the FW to get guns on, and that somehow becomes the fault of a p61 that was 1) 5kms away at the time; and 2) actively trying to tell the xp50 that the fw was on his six ... and that somehow warrants an attempt to teamkill ... and it turns out the guy who decides he's going to play executioner can't even take a p61 in a p51C.
Thinking about it, no surprise the kind of barely-double-digit IQ individual to try and do such a thing wouldn't even be able to seal the deal. just another day in War Thunder

13:07 yea the aa is so annoying with the AoE. some airfields are on a hill so you could technically attack from under, but the tracers literally flew THROUGH the god damn ground. instantly died because aa camping so fun.
Yeah.. while its aoe dmg is not too bad, at least fix the ground cover.. its always kills me when you think you are safe from aa and then get pilot sniped..
AA firing at me through the ground has been some of the most annoying deaths I’ve experienced in this game

There are two types of them. They either annihilate you and your team's feelings, or they just miss every shot and crash because they were too focused on you.
Yeah.. controlling the turret is hell.. the camera always looking at 6 and it makes me panic turning the camera over before going back to pilot mode and go to gunner again and panicking again.. they should make option to not turn the camera when doing gunner.. it renders front facing gunner useless
Killing the p61 is pretty tricky man, I usually stay under them at any cost and force them to go up and bleed their speed, once you got em slow you can just BnZ
Fun fact: IRL pilots would lock the turret forward and work with the gunner to fire it at the same time as the 20's. Imagine if you could do that in-game. Quad 20mm's and .50 Cal's.

People who play it are really fucking stupid Though.
I love the 61's but the only thing that pisses me off is how nerfed they were on the damage model. They used to be more stout and could gunship on the deck while absorbing hits. Now it feels like the tail gets shot off the minute a round comes in. Still effective but not near as survivable. Turret is hilarious at pilot-sniping in AB though.
@SirEpifire It's really annoying in AB. I get it confused with the various other American planes sometimes, and will bait it into trying to head on. I'll perfectly dodge the nose, immediately maneuvering into the perfect position for a snapshot ..... and get fucking domed by the turret midway through turning
P-61 turret is great for chasing the enemies. It has unlimited ammo, so you can just spam from 1700m away at a running enemy and you'll eventually hit something vital :)
God i love the p61. It's my favorite prop ingame, and the first plane i got a ace crew qualification.

Could you add a pro and cons section at the beginner for each plane? As a newer player, it's almost impossible to track what planes strength and weaknesses are as the wiki is often inaccurate.

Have you ever tried turn fighting with the turret? Once you get used to how the turret turns, its actually a bit easy, especially when they slow down. You just need to make sure you have space to do it.

Weird to see someone use this as a standard fighter. I usually use it as a fatter intercepter. Nothing deals with a Bv-238, Pe-8, Me-264 or Stirling (God bless it's soul) faster than quad 20mm's.

The piece of armoured windscreen on the La-5s isn't that big. Bullets can probably easily get past it.

I love the P-61 in ab and rb. I just got out of an RB match with 7 kills and pretty much did it all on my own, all my other team mates combined got a whole single kill combined. Sadly we still lost due to the timer running down while we had a lower amount of tickets, but yeah. I was going against british german russian and japanese planes and I out did them all with my trusty P-61.

I don’t know if anyone know the Xbox 360 game Heroes Over Europe; but you can unlock this plane and the turret is literally an auto aim instant kill and you just have to fly around and you kill everything.
Sorry for off topic, but with upcoming sales I'm thinking what would be the best premium jet for the ussr. Su 11 seems to bee very good. Mig 17as also, but I'm afraid it's gonna be facing super sonics with better/more missiles a lot. Or should i go with su7 bmk and just bomb bases and occasionally kill someone, I've heard it's a good way to grind the tech tree quickly which is my target. Can you give an advice on which way should i go? I know you've made a videos on all those 3, but something might have changed since that.
BMK only has gun but is pretty unstable so getting air kills is a bit tough (from experience) the Su-11 is a very good plane but you have to be in a good position to score kills (which is pretty easy) and the 17AS has a crazy good flight performance with missiles... And faces some supersonics cause gayjin...
i really don't know which is better but you have some ideas on how these planes behave
@@desertfalcon1539 I'm thinking more about su 11, since it's similar in performance to mig9l, which is my only spaded jet, and I'm doing ok in it, about 2 kills per game. Mig 17 might have higher sl and rp modifier, but I'm afraid im gonna perform worse in it and that difference would be mitigated. And they're both rank 5 so they both not gonna grind rank 7 as fast as su7. And the strategy with su7 is just bomb the bases mostly. I've heard you can get about 10-15k rp per match even if you lose. Unfortunately there's not much rank 6 premiums, and the yak 38 looks like even less reliable choice for grinding.

As a pilot who flew the Yak-38 on a daily basis, it was pretty playable but now that F-5Cs have invaded matches, playing the Yak-38 is impossible...
These bastards can easily catch on you and even climbing wont save you. And once they fire a missile, you'll have burned so much energy while trying to evade it that the F-5C will obliterate you

P-61C is a personal favorite, got a free talisman for it from a drop and it served as my main rank III-IV grinder for a while. Its heavy as shit, but its good fun when it works.

What angle or speed do you climb at the beginning of the match? I never end up higher than the 109's
U can't , they just climb better even without an airspawn
With 15° degrees I easily intercepted bombers and often end higher than enemy fighters
And even if they are at the same alt, I can easily disengage and outspeed them
I have shamelessly have like 6000 kills in the p61. Used it to grind the whole US tech tree. It's by far my most played vehicle in the game. Assuming u have it fully researched climb 10-11 degrees from the start of the match with airspawn. U will out climb pretty much every fighter with the exception of a few uptiers with aced 109s or spitfires. Even then they will be roughly the same alt as you. Only time I climb above 10 degrees is when I'm taking off from the af I'll climb at like 14-15 degrees. Until I get above maybe 2000m then I level out, gain speed and climb at 10. The key with the p61 is speed. The problem with climbing at 15 degrees in a heavy plane is you will lose a ton of climbing power as you gain alt and lose speed. 10 degree climb angle is the sweet spot for the p61. You have to fly it like a heavy plane. I try to always keep my speed no lower than 400kmh. Its fast as hell in a straight line but it's also fat so climbing at steep angles will slow you down a ton. Using your straight line speed at shallower climb angles is way more effective. And another tip for flying heavy planes, bombers or anything really, when you're at really high alt (above 5000m), fly in a straight line for a bit and gain a bunch of speed then go into a shallow 1-5 degree climb. You will climb insanely fast since the air resistance is lower at high alt you will keep your speed longer. Hope this helps

The P61 is still my most played vehicle even tho I haven't played it in forever ut thats because every time I do play it I always have a bad time and I don't wanna tarnish the memory I have of it. I played that thing so much I aced it without GE. I'll give these tips a go, I just worry that even with the alt advantage imma struggle.

The radar at daytime isn’t super effective, since it was meant to be used at night, which never happens since the Earth in war thunder never has nights.
Defyn you can kill anyone on the airfield if you approach at top speed and stay so close to the ground the AA can't target you until it's too late

I don't even control my turret unless its absolutely necessary anymore. I trust my gunners to do their job and they actually get the guy behind me like 90% of the time. All I have to do is maneuver to get them a shot and boom its over.
