About that AA milktrucks... I was flying M2000C. My speed was something about 1250 km/h a few meters above the ground. One shot from milktruck - engine dead. Thank you gaijin. 😅

Meanwhile the AAA airfield is useless against jets. I played ground RB and while landing to get bombs I got killed by 1 B2 Spirit from German, he get in and get out without a single damage

Mid map AAA is another weird change like those "bugs" with the forced J-out when damaged(they "fixed" it after we complained) and the force J-out when you plane is critical damaged, you land it on the airfield and the game considers you dead(force J-out) while you pilot is just fine.
The fact that it can damage your plane at all is a shit game feature. There’s absolutely no reason why you should just randomly be taken out of a match for no reason other than you had bad luck.
This is a decision made purely for monetisation reasons rather than gameplay realism.
For gaijin, this hyper-effective hitscan bullshit insta-crit-all-your-fluids mid-field AAA exists solely to slow down people's grind. It ensures people who 'just want to play the damn game' are not able to play the damn game, and are instead required to take 5-10 minutes off each of their games, slowing down their progress.
Only way to speed progress up then is to pay for premium time, or buy a premium plane.
Honestly one of my favourite planes in the game even over the fighters I love going back to this plane

I'm a new player. I've been struggling with american props and their bad climbrates, but I've tried this plane out and now have a 2.0 KD with it. The airspawn, fast speed, and good vertical maneuverability seems like it makes it relatively easier to fly than other similar tier US props.
I find american planes to be really, really hard to play consistently. They're "unintuitive", so to speak, since you can't just drag mouse at enemy and click. I've watched sooo many videos, including your guides but I still can't apply energy fighting concepts well. And coupled with my terrible aim, it makes it very rough.

also got a one shot fire by the field AA, was in the middle of finishing a crippled zero too, didn't even have time to turn back in to the zero for the last shot before my wing came off. Super annoying and completely unnecessary
This is one of my goto cope feel good planes. MEC is very powerful in this plane. Most maps 5.5 to 6k you run 90 pitch 0 rads. I don’t know why such small cooler flaps would be so draggy but they are. If your willing I usually run around on 90 prop and 30 rads but I will close them any time I’m gonna zoom out. Very easy to exploit against most of what you face. Doing it in the J reaches Jug levels.
Dunno if anyone's run this idea by you, but I think that when they buffed EC AA in It's Fixed 63, they actually just buffed all AA across the game. It's stupid easy to notice in heli PvE, but is still a big problem in air rb, as you know.
i feel like the aaa was buffed, but either way it now makes attackers nearly impossible to use in ground rb, i also got killed by midmap aaa recently when i was 2 kilometers above it 😠
Even with its issues I absolutely love this plane. It's one of my favorite planes in the game alongside the P-80 and P-40.
You have been dying to AA so damn much because after recent update Gaijin gave them pristine milk crack and now not they only can shoot up to 4km in the air, but to hit you perfectly at all times, no matter the speed or distance. Oh and also god forbid you fly near ground targets convoy
Me nowadays instead of of flying over ground convoys: heads 15 km to the right just to make sure to not get hit lol

I really hope Gaijin starts to lose some players because that midmap AAA is infuriating as hell, already died(or saw others dying) or got crippled a couple of times by it.

The AN/M3 nerf included the explosive type being changed - it wasn't as major of a nerf as people think.

This plane is amazing. Yeah the nose authority is pretty annoying at times and fighting against spitfires and yaks are annoying as well but besides that, this plane is a joy to fly
I trashed this plane after 1 flight, cannot even climb, cannot even dogfight and everything shoot to the middle tail is counted as be killed.

@@_GODSFIGHTER then its horrible at its job. This thing can only climb at 10 degree at takeoff. I even have to install WTIRS to help adjust radiator and propeller pitch and I found its climbing was very restricted
@superspies32 I promise it's actually good. And I'm sure you don't know how to use it right. This thing has an airspawn too unless your talking about landing for repairs and ammo, even then it's not that bad
@@_GODSFIGHTER Interceptor spawn begin at 1000m, I tried every method including set radiator to 0% and propeller to 100% and just 10 degree higher the speed begin to drop. Meanwhile everyone constant climb to 3000m and still faster than me
Exactly my sentiments on the p38 G1, the nose is difficult to get on target, speed is nice, flaps are nice, keep your altitude and kill from high alt downward in priority and you'll be fine. Whole-heartedly agree that mid map AAA is overpowered, ruins many games that had entertaining dogfights, this needs to be toned down. The AA buff and the economy changes are neck and neck for worst change implemented recently.
P.S. in my opinion that is.

Is it me or the AAA has been buffed, just yesterday we were in a 3 vs 2 and both the enemy Su 11 and Me 163 were killed by IA.

The P-38 and the Ta 152 H-1 are the only two aircraft I can do well in. Despite the fact that there may be "better" aircraft, the P-38 chose me to get aces in nearly every one available to me.

If you are in a plane that does not have a very powerful gun, going into the merge head on with another plane (like the p38 for example) with better guns than you is not a good idea to stay head on in the merge to hopefully shoot the other plane out before you even start the merge. instead, use maneuvers to make sure that the other plane does not hit you in the merge. Most of the time, when doing maneuvers, the plane will not hit you and you will be able to get in the merge. Usually, the way war thunder works is that planes either trade gun power for turn time or turn time for gun power. This means that when entering the merge, your turn time will be greater than the opponents plane and you can get the kill. If you are going into a merge with a plane that has the same gun power as you, the choice is yours to either maneuver or go head on. If you are in a plane that trades turn time for gun power, (like the p38) it is best to stay directly head on with other planes as the P 38 Canon can destroy planes quickly. Although, like I said earlier, this means your turn time is not as good as the opponents, this means that you have to make sure you destroy the opponents plane before having the merge. This is usually pretty easy to do unless the player knows how to maneuver, but not many people know how to so yeah. considering the immense fire power of the P 38, it's pretty likely you will get the kill before the merge begins. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments and I can gladly answer for you.

So today I was flying a p47 d28, i see a tempest mkII 12ks out and i turn away from him. He then gets on my tail and catches up to me. I dive, he's still catching up. I climb, still catching up (obviously, he killed me). I got to look at the tempest after the game and the max speeds are 50+kph difference. My question is how are you supposed to just look at a plane and know whether or not it can beat you? I can look at the information in warthunder and it seems to do me no good when I get in a game. Everything seems to catch up to me even when im in the fastests planes for my tier.

I will never understand why Gaijin buffed the mid map AI aa vehicles to the degree that they have, same thing with giving some of the AI vehicles the ground RB damage models instead of just a HP pool. Who are the people that want these changes?
I think they are trying to force air rb players into tank battles with those AAA changes, it was buffed again and you can feel it, arcade, rb no matter what you play, i get set on fire, engine knocked by ba-64 armored cars, with 7mm on board, like why else would they buff the AAA if not to make you play tank battles?

How in the hell do you fly with the keyboard? I can barely use the mouse to fly ..lol
You don't always use the keyboard, basically you just hold the pitch key down when in an engagement that requires hard turning and it's more convenient to maintain tally(keep your camera on) the enemy with your mouse aim circle rather than holding the C(free look) key. If you want to turn gently to maintain speed then it's normal to rely on the mouse.
Another scenario is when a plane's mouse aim AI doesn't pull as hard as it can compared to holding pitch like what DEFYN says and that's when you'd also need to try and full-send with keyboard, but it won't be frequent that you'd have to worry about it. You can still do respectably without keyboard controls if you are skilled in other aspects.
Bind free look to spacebar and look behind you to disable mouse input and you can control everything from wasd keys, very useful for fighting multiple enemies and defensive flying. Go into a test battle to practice with no worry of getting gunned down.

Hey Doof I have a solution for "being unable to put your nose on people with twin engine fighters" and that is the J5N1. It is like a P47DN-1 RE with the Stall control of a 109 and crazy post stall looping.

the P-38 has always been my favorite plane since I played "1945" on the NES when I was a kid. It's kinda sad that in reality it didn't perform very well and it was used more as a recognizance plane than an attacker. Still such a cool looking plane.

Mid map AAA is an insanely bad feature.

Air rb has ai aspects, just take a ground pounder and kill the aa
ARB has no respawns. So you take an attacker and that's all you're doing the whole match, humping the ground and clicking stationary targets. Fun. You'll get killed by the AA and your team will notice nothing you did, or you'll get killed by the first fighter that dives on you. Might as well be an empty slot on your team.
In GRB you die to revenge cas, spawn in AA, take care of the cas and maybe a few tanks, then spawn back into a real tank and continue with your game. Unless you're doing so poorly you can't afford the 200sp for your AA.
@@Majima_Nowhere Sounds like a skill issue. Just take out a strike fighter and help your team. You clearly dont play top tier grb, the chances of someone spawning a heli, or rushing a cap in a bt5, puma, or m22 then getting a full cas load are very high, if someone isnt in an AA from the start one heli can ruin the whole match.
Since we have to suffer and sacrifice playing our favourite tanks to protect our team why dont you suffer not dog fighting and just help your team? If Ai is too strong for you maybe go play arcade?

As I listened to this video, I got hit by mid map AA 5 times in the span or 3 seconds, killing my engine and making me lose a game that i had taken from a 1v4 to a 1v1. epic
I had a similar thing happen to me where I got to a 1v1. I forgot one of my landing gears had gotten knocked off and I cartwheeled down the runway and exploded

Same thing happened to me, I was flying low in my MiG-23 at around Mach 0.9 and the mid-map AAA pilot sniped me out of nowhere, no tracers or anything.

I honestly think the AAA issue is map based (it seems much worse depending on map) I'm guessing due to AAA placement and the buffing or nerfing having such a drastic impact based off map, thats my threory.
I would watch videos of you reflying planes. I'd watch you fly out an f4u five times for commentary alone. I've actually put your tips into practice and improved overnight.

Mid map AA has been so nuts lately. Saw multiple early jets get knocked out of the sky one after another, not being hit by any players. Infuriating.
