ABOUT SEBASTIEN:
Sebastien is at the helm of Design at KISKA and is a managing partner in the firm. The Belgian started his career at Piaggio, where he worked on mobility (before it was a corporate buzzword) projects in collaboration with IDEO, Stola, Bertone and Guigiaro.
He then moved to Honda R&D Europe and led the development of the CBR600RR.
Sebastien then joined KISKA in 2002 as their Transportation Director and spear-headed the KTM XBOW development. This car completely blurred the lines between 2 and 4 wheels and it was unlike anything the Automotive world had ever seen before.
It looks the way it does not because the sketch machines were ‘unleashed’ or given the freedom to ‘do whatever you want’. Sebastien and his team literally started with a blank sheet of paper and innovated at every single opportunity from conception through to the very last annoying piece of red tape in the homologation process.
Sebastien has been at KISKA for more than 20 years and he clearly still has so much passion for the company. There is an amazing synergy and culture that runs throughout KISKA and after spending time with both Sebastien and Gerald, it is obvious where that comes from.
There are many design agencies that claim to be a ‘one-stop-shop’ or a ‘we can do it all’ outfit, but it’s hard to fathom that there are many, if any, that can do things with the incredible synergy and expertise in the way that KISKA does. This trip, in particular, has really shown me that.

ABOUT ME:
I am a South African Designer, Digital Modeller and host of Crown Unfiltered.
I will be talking to a cross-section of people that work in the Car Design Industry. These will include designers, digital and clay modellers, vis artists, and colour & material designers. The focus of our conversations will be centered around personal processes and experiences within the business.
My aim is to demystify some of the preconceptions about this industry and give people an unadulterated glimpse into the business. I also wish to give the younger generation the opportunity to see that the people that these professionals come in different shapes and sizes and some of them will be unknown. The intention is to see that you should always be yourself and not let your job define or change who you are.
