A buddy hits so hard he just busted an older Ultra he just reveered. If he's not ripping the cover off every shot he's not a happy camper. I'll pass your review along when it pulls up Kent. Impeccable timing!!! 😮👍😎
Imo this frame's potential is only unlocked with the 18x20 pattern encouraging a flatter attacking style game (Madison Keys) while maximising the raw connected feel (without modern bs technology) by making the sweetspot even sweeter. I havent tried the 16x19 version so feel free to disagree. I was able to put my opponent under pressure with pace from the baseline and eventually finishing at net with superb feel and touch on volleys. Serves were accurate and the slice felt especially good. Lacked a bit of pace but since this is a platform frame that could be easily fixed by putting lead at 12. All in all i would say this is wilsons version of a "platform prestige". After heavily leading up 3 and 9 my one handed backhand was dead stable on contact and was able to hit nice angles while being able to switch down the line when needed.
18 x 20 with Restring 0 mains Wasabi "X" (later Wasabi string edited) 2lbs lighter in crosses. It really makes no difference what racquet I always experience poor stability issues in a 16X 19 string pattern. I reason my ball striking isn't near as good as I'd like to think it is. Going with these strings gives me enough snap back to impart enough spin. Yet not relinquish control.
Officially switched to the Ultra Pro 16x19 customised, best racquet I’ve ever used!
