I consider this vid a social service for how, at 2:20, you go into the danger of using dead poly strings. Too few players understand this. Well done. You're saving people's arm health.

But how many session you play in a month

Totally agree - I cut out my poly strings after 4/5 sessions, and it’s saves my arm. Great having my own stringing machine

maybe you should, would save some money, and being less dependend on what viewers send you to review. On the other hand, your message is spot on

Tension maintenance is also pretty low priority for me as well. I always use the rule that when the poly strings stay out of place after each point and stop snapping back, they are done. The elasticity is gone. For me, depending on the string I get 4-6 hours before they bag out. I rotate frames and string for myself one frame a week and it works great.

4-6 hours??? You crazy lol, making stuff up in your mind

@@tomathome77 What am I making up? I am sharing my experiences with poly strings. By 4-6 hours depending on the string they have dropped well over 20% in tension and lost elasticity. Natural gut/poly hybrids I break the gut main in 5 hours, even 1.35 gauge. String lifespans are different for every player.

Saying you cut out once per month is very subjective. If you play once a month or 400times per month. Better to say how many hours or sessions before you cut out. Gl

Love tension drop! More power more movement. Have to achieve better feel. It's a training tool. Teach high level juniors and players around 35+ hrs a week for 26years. KNOW YOURSELF!

Because poly don't break so almost all non-pro players use dead poly all the time. They might get used to this feel. Totally agree with you, that poly goes dead after like 5 hours of play. It's not really mattered with how long, once i strung my racket before sleep and next day unexpected rain so have to cancel then long period of time of busy work and a travel, 2 month past. After that long i do even planed to cut it off directly but saidly I have an unexpect play so have to grabe my racket with 2 month old but never played RPM blast in 45 lbs.... And it plays almost like newly strung only slight bit of lowered tension, the string characteristic almost same as new. And i have other weeks i do strung last minute before play and just play 1-2 hours everyday and poly just go dead after 4-5 hours of total play time. I think everybody should buy a string machine at home. It will make your tennis play much more amazing.

Is elasticity really the most important thing for reducing the impact and avoiding tennis elbow? How much deflection would you get in a string bed of old, 'dead' poly at 35lbs compared to a fresh set at 50lbs? A lot more I would guess, despite its loss of elasticity.

It might move the string more, but I don't think it will absorb as much of the impact.

@@tijgertjekonijnwordopgegeten I can't see the logic behind this. If I jump on a trampoline and it deflects a great deal and then springs back, the force will be over a longer time compared with a tight trampoline that doesn't deflect much.

I hate to be “that guy” and maybe I’m in the wrong place for this question, but this advice is unworkable for club players at my level…
we play twice a week ( doubles )
And certainly could not afford to spend 50.00 plus a month replacing strings….
    any advice for these players……
Interested more in the arm protection than performance….

cheap multis (head velocity), or synthetic gut.

Break the strings about once a month lol

Use a synthetic gut or multifilament, they maintain tension better and are also better for your arm.

It surely doesn’t to anyone at your level only to people with better levels that play a lot, what were you in jaoan for
