Sarah is an excellent operator. She knows exactly what's going on and when to shut it down. She's not a steering wheel holder like a lot of the new generation is. That tractor will run a long time now because all your equipment is well maintained. Many hard-working Farm kids like this nowadays.
Great to see Sarah back in her favorite tractor and she has eagle eyes notices things as soon as it happens. Shuts the equipment off to save any possible catastrophic failure. She is the type of operator all farmers need well done.
Those engines are problematic. I know of 2 UA-camrs and one local with the same 9560, two track versions and yours that have all had the same engine issues. EGR coolers, head bolts and head gasket.. Lots of operators would have gone til it shutdown on its own, excellent reaction to the problem Sarah!!!!
Sarah is quick as a cat! She is really cognisant of her environment. She's like Jason Bourne!! (I see 10 people, 4 women, one wearing a hat. 6 cars have passed since we have been seated, etc). Ain't nutin getting past that girl.
AGAIN Sarah is GREAT. Shutting down that tractor as soon as she saw the coolant coming out. Most operators don't pay attention to problems like that and would have ruined that new engine. GREAT JOB SARAH
As an ex potato farmer employee we had these days too many times. During the bad days we would ask, “Is it time to go home yet?” I never complained, I just kept working, because farming paid my way through college and after graduation to pay my college loan off. I remember many days with a combination of Never Seize, Permatex, and diesel fuel on my pants. Thanks for your informing videos.
Andy, Sarah knows her shit about all these old used tractors and that is a great sign. Keep them family kids moving along with farm work. Thanks young man for the great videos and keep them coming
Sarah is a real pro, quick response is less damage, ...... great job. 👍 Andy, " You went 22ft ", ....... that tractor is 23ft long, I think she stopped within 10ft, maybe less. 😉
I've never ever heard anyone call those soft plugs where I come from they're all called frost plugs and I've done literally over 1000 engines and I've never heard tell her that that's a good one I like that great video as always Andy
I always called them freeze plugs and they do protect the engine when the coolant doesn't have enough antifreeze in it to prevent freezing because they can pop out and relieve some of the internal pressure before the block gets cracked.
I enjoy watching Sarah operating machinery as she is at her ease and observing. She does not do waiting well and seem frustrated standing around waiting for Dad to finish making his point.
Sarah is definitely on the ball to shut it down that quick. Andy you sure have more patience with your dealer and the engine rebuilder than I would've had.
People that don’t have patience almost always scree themselves over. People don’t wanna do things for axx holes. You almost always get more by being polite, considerate, and patient.
There is no reason for poor quality control and sketchy work when you are paying top dollar, just lately the same tractor had a connecting rod come thru the block
@@Dennismelnychuk I realized that . But calling people names and getting a bad attitude will not help problems. You can be assertive, without losing you temper. Bad attitudes just slow things down.
When I started farming my grandfather would come out to the fields and help me fix or load seed or help me move from field to field. He told me that if farming was so easy everyone would do it. That has stayed with me ever since. It's a great tractor. Thank you for a great video
Andy, you really seem to roll very well with the punches when things go south and I detect very little frustration thru the lens. Perhaps this episode calls for a 2 PBR debrief session followed by an extra hour sleep so you can give it hell in the morning! Great job by your daughters always being alert! Thanks for another great video. 👍👍👍👍👍
Another great video showing the benefits of bringing the kids up around equipment and getting them to get their hands dirty doing repairs well done to you all. By the way this is not the first time I’ve seen a reman engine not run straight out the box I watch western truck and tractor repairs and he wouldn’t spit on a John Deere reman.
Your very Blessed with having great help backing you up like you got.. Miss Sarah was watching what was going on and her quickness with shutting it down. Good job Miss Sarah... WTG.
Excellent video. I gotta say it is very impressive how quickly Sarah catches problems. She noticed that coolant leak immediately, to her it's just business as usual but man if that was here I wouldn't have gotten the phone call until the thing was overheating and boiling over lol. Cazenovia equipment is also excellent, they really do right by you guys. And like usual your mechanical ability and patience is really something. A lot of guys would be whining and complaining about having trouble after having spent money on a repair, you guys just keep working and get it done. Nice job. So on a remainufactured engine does that come as a 100% complete assembly with the turbo charger EGR cooler and everything on it? Or do they use the components off the other engine and just a long block? I know you just did that EGR cooler I think it was two winters ago now. I'm sure there will be some comments like that but they will be from people that could really stand to take a lesson from you. And look on the bright side if one of them freeze plugs blows out again you could always just pop a block heater element in there and tighten it down haha
I understand you. I don't care whether it's a rebuild or a man or a brand new one, I always like to keep a close eye on a new engine. Even if it's a new used one on the farm and they use piece of equipment until we get a feel for how much water and oil they use or do not use we keep a close eye on them. Smart thing to do Andy!
The Girls are getting good at working the fields and even doing maintenance of the equipment. I sure like seeing young people who aren’t afraid of doing work and getting dirty if need be. Andy youve done a fabulous job of instilling great work ethics into the kids!
Andy, best of luck with that reman engine. JD hasn't had that great of luck with reman's for the past few yrs. That terradisc sure is doing one heck of a good job. Nice and smooth. But, wow, you got a lot of stones in that field. Your kids are definitely paying attention to the equipment they're operating. To go that short of distance and find that issue... good job Sarah.
Thats Great how sharp she is to know to shut'er down that fast. You think you gettem all gone but wait there more rocks.I swear every rock I ever threw as a kid is in my back yard where my garden is. 2 to 3 bushels of all sizes every couple years.
Wow Andy you must be proud of Sarah catching something like that so quickly!! That's impressive to say the least!! Great videos! How's the new addition coming? Thanks for all you do. Jim.
Great save Sarah. Let’s hope the coolant didn’t get below the fire zone on that liner. I had one let go the same way. Those plugs are so critical. There should be a better way to cast a block
Sarah and other family members are very mechanical. They take pride and care of the equipment when operating it Again your very fortunate to have your family working with all of you and the rest of crew. As you stated about help with Mechanical help short with John Deere your family has no allergy to work
Blimey Andy this must be painful to swallow. Good luck with this reman engine, let's hope it lasts and was not built by the people who did the Western Truck & Trailer engines. I really feel for you all. Tell Sarah not to thrash it for a few days. All the best.
@Richard Homan This core plug (what we call them in UK) coming out would make me worry about the standard of the mechanic who built the engine. Fingers crossed for Andy's sake this was all he/she didn't get right.
Andy what can I say, I'm glad to be retired now and farming vicariously through your most excellent content and family. I don't think I undéstand telephone numbers for repairs.
I can understand the concerns of the dealer. That was a big bill to get your tractor up and running, and, this was strike 2 with this job. If there happens to be anything wrong with the reman, it is better that they look after the problem.
Like on my old go cart. It never worked either. That is a horse of a tractor. How many hours on old engine. That terra disc is sweet. Lucky Sara no AC Damn. Caz is good people. Thanks
Us hillbillies here in Southeast Kentucky call those freeze out plugs. Someone most likely just didn’t get it seated all the way when they built the engine! Sarah keeps a close watch on what she’s doing!
What people also need to realize is the price of a new tractor is round 500,000 or more if ur stuff is paid off it makes perfect sense to do a new or reman engine versus a new tractor
First time I've ever heard of someone using loctite on a freeze plug. If it works...it works. Nicely done, if it holds and stays. Might keep an eye on it for leaks, especially this winter when it gets below freezing. Thanks for the video.
Hey Andy ! Good job Sarah ! Now you should have a good engine for long time. bug engine have to warm up for long time before to use it , this is what i learned . Thanks Andy Hourigan the great and have a good day !
I really enjoy the cinematography and farm country scenery in your videos a lot Andy. I live in a suburb a mile from the Northwest border of DC. It sure is a different animal around here especially now… all the best
Amazing the equipment lasts as long as it does. Not because of abuse or poor maintenance but because of all the stones! The rocks under the TerraDisc are like fingernails on a chalkboard! Incredible how conditions vary.

Thanks

my deepest respect for Sarah being that quick stopping ...... now that's a driver and not just a wheel holder
To watch your kids work so well just makes me smile 🇺🇸👍 not all American family values are gone! You should be very proud
With all the work that Sara does on the equipment along all of your kids makes them so much better operators. Great job raising and teaching.
Sarah certainly is a very observing operator. Your children never fail to amaze me on their skills . You certainly are a very blessed family.
Sarah is amazing, not only is she drop dead beautiful but she's got brains too. Any father would be proud.
Sarah is so good at knowing her tractor. The sights and sounds, etc. It's amazing how tuned in she is with the machine!
Way to go Sarah!
FF&F , needs to purchase a rock windrowing picker combination equipment for all of THOSE rocks , WOW WEE ,freaking N.Y. !!!!!
Sarah is very good operator and knows what going on. Andy you taught them right
Sarah was really paying attention. All ur kids are excellent operators 👍
Sara deserves a HUGE raise and a Gold Star...She saved a headache from turning into a real Mungral..

Thank you. I was going to say the same. Wow. Best to em for trying it.
With the look on Sarah's face, she is going to own the farm. Definitely a leader that doesn't take crap.
Great job Sara for proving you're an excellent operator and saving the day.

Sarah caught that QUICK! Great job!
Caught it quick? It was pissing coolant like it was going out of style on the right side of the tractor. The side everybody is looking down.
AGAIN Sarah is GREAT. Shutting down that tractor as soon as she saw the coolant coming out. Most operators don't pay attention to problems like that and would have ruined that new engine. GREAT JOB SARAH

Got her stopped & shut down before the tractor even cleared it. Impressive
Andy doing 50mph in reverse in the field !!!! Gotta get the shot.... Gotta get the shot damnit .... Great video as always.
My gosh, Farmers have so much expenses how in the world can you make any profit. God Bless all you Farmers 🙏🏻

Sarah is very alert while operating equipment, nice job 👍.
I enjoy watching Sarah operating machinery as she is at her ease and observing. She does not do waiting well and seem frustrated standing around waiting for Dad to finish making his point.
Good job Sarah, I've run them 9 series with no air!!!, It's almost unbearable, good operator you are greetings from Wisconsin 👍👍
Good job Sarah shutting it down before any damage. Awesome
