Off course it's raining when this is taking place. Rarely does stuff like this happen on nice days. Thanks for taking the time to video and share with us.
Andy, you are about the most patient and even keeled person I’ve ever seen. A lot of guys would not be as focused on just doing what needs done. Hat’s off to you!
Sounds like you've done a great job quarterbacking the team, keeping your eyes on the big picture while managing the pieces... And all the whole reminding folks about safety...
Sorry to hear about the tractor, Another youtuber had the same problem with a JD reman. Swore he would never use another. Now he rebuilds them himself. He used the trick of hooking it up to another tractors hydraulics to move it around. Wish you the best of luck with it. You and your team did a great job of moving everything around to rescue the tractor. Thanks as always for taking us along.
Andy hope your healing.....man so sorry see this loss for you. We all are going to say a good prayer for you all. Be safe and thank you for all those you feed through your labor. You make Amercia great!
Old mother Deere should just stick a brand new engine in that thing and drive on. Be interesting to see what happens in the next video. Thanks for taking the time to show us the good stuff Andy.
Andy, your leadership is amazing. You are always so calm which helps the other workers to stay calm too. Your knowledge and know how to get the task at hand accomplished always works. Break downs are never cheap. Can things ever go smoothly for you. Things are breaking all the time. Do you spend more time doing mechanical work or farming? Great video!!
I've seen y'all when your in the field and I look like to me y'all are very hard on the tractor I'm not knocking you call liar worked on some farm and they didn't take care of tractor played overload them but I'm not knocking in there I'm just put a little comment thank you sir
Excellent camera work, Andy. I felt like I was standing there. I admire and respect greatly your ability to remain calm and humble in every situation. Your kind is few and far between and I look forward to every video. Thank you for taking the time to let us into your world. Everything you do is inspiring.
Gee Andy, that’s a tough one. As my Uncle would say “ that would make a mare bite her colt “, great job on recovery. No injuries, machines can be fixed 👍
Don't think I've ever seen anyone as calm Andy as you when you view the crank from the recently installed inspection point - I certainly wasn't when our shaker threw a rod - you do run a great crew. 🇦🇺
If I was able to work again and I was close to you I wouldn't mind working with you cuz you're so easy to get along with you are a very calm person that's what I like about you
There are cuts in the videos to make them flow more smoothly, so we are not sitting here watching 20 minutes of the same step, and the videos are not an hour and 15 minutes long. What you see is what you get with Andy. He's not faking anything here.
Very impressive ! A Dairy Farm having self-recovery equipment and crew , to retrieve a heavy piece of equipment. You had me spellbound through your entire video ! I am well experienced with recovery operations in less than “ optimal “ conditions. I used to love it, but now retired medically, and can only enjoy through these videos. Job well done !!
A well managed troop of farmers, mechanics and family. You have to admire rthe relationship they all have with each other. Reflects back to how they were raised. I wish our congress would watch these videos to learn how to work together.
You have some great neighbors they seem to be very understanding and stay out of the way. Here they would drive out of their way to come by and cuss you out for blocking the road even if it is just a flat tire
My tractor had a similar problem before I bought it, the head gasket blew between a cylinder and the coolant but was a very small leek between the 2 and the engine would run. It sat for a week and when they they tried to start it 1 cylinder fired(it would start on less than half a turn) but when piston 2 came up with the small amount of water in it, it was enough to break the conrod and sent it through the block. I bought it cheap in non working condition but had to buy a second hand block for it, we did a complete build while at it so its good for a while now, Touch wood.
Andy I wish I could stay as calm as you do when things like this happen. Andrew is a heck of a good operator for his age. You and your wife should be proud of all your kids. They all do an awesome job.
Just saw a video last week from Machinery Pete of the reman factory in Missouri that JD bought and how they take the motors. Caz will love seeing this tractor back. I don't know how you keep so calm. I'm also surprised you are not on the phone constantly.
Boy the hits never stop coming! And in the rain ! 😬..nothing will turn your stomach more that the sound of a rod kicking out the block…🤦🏻 I really don’t know how you don’t loose your mind! I have great respect for you & how you handle things a lot of people should take lessons for you…
He does act like a very good man don't he he's so calm about everything I work with some some labor very hard to work with and I wouldn't work with them no more
Hey Andy, what a bummer. Tough break that engine side window is. Good to see yer takin it easier so that you rib'll rejoin. On the bright side, your Young Andrew sure is an impressive Operator. Great job young Man! Andrew, You're sure makin yer Dad proud. Keep up the good work. 👍🏁👍🇺🇸

Sorry for the loss of the engine. Weather conditions weren't the best but you managed to get the tractor back to the farm. Thanks, the video was interesting. Wishing for the best outcome, happy holidays !
Being a die hard John Deere man it hasn't been easy but with the larger amount of issues with this newer generation of tractors lately we've been seriously considering Versatile for our larger tractors, they run Cummins engines and CAT transmissions, two companies that have their shit together in the industrial market.
The last tractor I bought was 1982 Stiger Cummins engine & Eaton transmission. I hope that if I was still farming I would still be using it. The bank said that I was through farming in 1985. Sometimes I’m almost glad, not often.
@@dirtfarmer7472 Those Steigers were good tractors as well. Originally designed and built by some farmers in northern MN with the intended purpose of having a 4 wheel drive tractor for themselves. I've driven a couple in my day, they sure sound sweet when you kick the right hand door open along a tree row and listen to that straight exhaust echoing off the trees!
Nothing like another day on the farm. I have heard that the John Deere reman engine's are having problems. A friend of mine has been though 2 of them this year. Good luck.
I envy the way you stay calm and collected in all situations. Hat’s off to you. Hope John Deere treats you well on the reman engine. I don’t know who is doing the remans but after this and Warrens at Western Truck &Tractor Repair I wouldn’t have a John Deere reman if they gave it to me.
Always has to be the most miserable weather when something breaks down. I'm broke down too with transmission problems. Can't get in until tomorrow morning to see what's wrong
If farming was easy, everyone would do it! Great job on getting the big 1 loaded with the tools you have to use. Hope JD doesn't try to weasel out of the warranty on you
Wow - talk about catastrophic engine failure. That rain was brutal when you were loading onto the lowboy trailer. I’m glad to hear the engine is under warranty but shocked at how soon after the rebuild she let go. Jared might be right about the crank snapping off the flywheel. Well Andy, this was an awesome video to share but man, I do feel bad this happened. Cheers, Ed
Andy great video, quite the operation to get the 9560 on the trailer. Just never know what situation you will be involved with. Just another day on the farm. To bad you had to spend your day doing that job. Good attitude about the engine failure. Can not change what has happened; "only have control of your reaction".

A couple of years ago, I had to load a dead articulated tractor and the guys helping me connected the front and rear axles using chains on each side. Then we could steer it by tightening on the chains on one side or the other.

I’ve seen others on UA-cam put in reman and some last and some like that and so don’t even make it past the trip to test out the engine before leaving the Mechanic. Deer needs to step up there game. Time is money and lost time of a tractor can be very difficult on farmers/ranchers and then have to do it again over a crappy reman that didn’t last!
I thought these kind of tractors had a hefty steel cable on the front end of them. So if they ever got stuck it was made it somewhat easier to pull it out. Hats off to you guys though. Doing this in the pouring rain couldn't have been an easy one to pull off
Once again, great video showing the farming life. Good content, keep us posted on the engine warranty/work… , thanks for sharing, explaining, Describing and educating.
Hope you make out ok. Warren at western truck and tractor repair installed a john deere reman for his customer. It had problems. Deere got him another one but I think he had to eat some or all the labor. He'll probably do his own rebuilds from now on. Deere may outsource the work instead of rebuilding in house.
Farm I worked on 15 years ago sent a IH 4586 to the dealership to have a reman engine installed. Hello Andy I can understand your disappointment. As I'm seeing larger operations spend larger money. Did the right thing on repair this tractor and now back same thing again. I know disappointing. Take care of your self have a good day.
Well that was the test of any team Andy, I really felt for you, well done all. I would not be happy with that failure. I assume this is not the tractor with the rebuilt engine. I would say there was a fair bit of heat and knocking in that engine before that final destruction. Be interesting to examine the rod bolt remains and if that piston is welded into the liner as part of the post mortem. I'm no farmer but if I was, I might be asking myself if I had too much green paint around me as it doesn't look up to much. Good luck.
How you keep your cool in times like this is amazing. I sure hope they cover you fully for that. Maybe time to unload that albatross and get something different?
Andy, John Deere do seem to have issues with reman engines that are built in Mexico. Warren (Western Truck and Tractor Repairs) a UA-camr like yourself had to fit 3 before the 3rd one was ok, that was a 9620T.
Rain, wet road, mud, oily tyres and road surface, what more could you want !!!!! Good job you have wide roads, would have been a nightmare on UK roads.
Andy, I feel your frustration. The rebuilder must not have magnufluxed the rod and cap for cracks or god forbid used the old rod cap studs and nuts as they stretch while being torqued. That cap blew off the rod as you could see the whole crank journal thru the block hole.
Junior is a heck of an operator of all the equipment for such a young man. Great job raising all your kids..
