    HAVE NOT finished watching this video yet, but I am rolling on the floor laughing at your sense of humor. "Sounds like I'm going to throw a tantrum!" I am loving this! Yes, please do your video using the pages that "didn't make the grade". Back to finish with you now. Blessings, Betty :) LATER AFTER VIDEO: Ceri, I am coming back after watching the entire show...I loved ALL of your pieces; however, I'm with you - The clean up page (the blue page with black) is my favorite. That first one...You could pop a frame around it and place it on your wall! Around 6 years ago, I had some surgery and needed to expand my skills - I ended up making a BUCKET of "household items" to be used in my art journals - I now use them with my Gelli Plate. I loved the large embellishment pieces you had made. Would have paid real live money to have been standing there whilst you were working...I could just feel the energy! GREAT entertainment!!!

    Sadly I had the same thing happen to my gelli plates by leaving by the acetate on them. The spots leave spots where they don't print now on my prints. I'm going to have to replace my plates and do not do that again. Both sides it happened too. Lesson learned. I will use those plates as palate plates now.
    As for the texture plates. I found some just like that at a garage sale. I had great success with them. Trick is to make sure the paint is not too thin. You don't want too much either. Also the paint has to still be wet enough to pull up on the texture plate too leave the negative print behind. If it is not it won't pull up the paint on the plate leave the texture from the plate behind I have gotten beautiful results using the exact ones you have. Thanks for sharing this video. Beautiful prints as always!

    Hi Ceri. Just a mention I think you might like...next time you go looking for paint take a look at Terracotta. It works with so many other colors. My favorite combo is using it with turquoise 😍 and looks good with other blues too. I even like it with tans and lighter browns. Looks good with black. You get the idea. Take a look and see what you think. TFS Hope you have a great day. 🌞

    • @CeriGriffiths

      Hi Linda, I use various methods, Ill use a sharp blade and cut them on a cutting matt, sometimes Ill use a die to cut them out if I want them uniform, I’ve even used a small sharp scissors to fussy cut certain shapes, I don’t use a trimmer as I don’t own one but I do know I don’t get good results if i use my guillotine.

    Hi Ceri. Thank you for your helpful tips on how to store a new Gelli Plate. I’m waiting for mine to arrive! I see where your 12x12 Gelli Plate appears to be surrounded by a piece of wood or sitting on ceramic. What do you set your Gelli Plate on to keep it from moving as you are loading the paint on it with the brayer?
    Also, can you use inks on a Gelli Plate or is this a bad idea? I would hate to ruin it out of ignorance…..
    Thank you again for this information! ❤️

    • @CeriGriffiths
      @CeriGriffiths  Рік тому

      Julia, you can use ink on your gel plate but it is likely to stain it, I've not done this so in the future I intend to experiment a little with it but I love my acrylic paints to much to possible switch over completely to inks. Do a bit of a search on youtube there's many videos on inks on a gel plate.
      I've got my gel plate on a sheet of acrylic or plexiglass basically so I can move it around for ease of videoing, there's no need for it but having it helps me. As long as you've got your plate on a surface where it does move around you're good to go.

    This is my second viewing! Why does it have to be black? Why not dark brown like walnut? How about shades of grey? Grey can be cool or warm yet still provide contrast. Black is so bold and absolute. OR am I missing something??

    • @CeriGriffiths
      @CeriGriffiths  2 роки тому

      You are correct it doesn’t have to be black, I just like the ultimate contrast of black or white on a project. If you want drama add a contrasting colour of your choice.

    I can never remember what paper weight means, so I looked it up. “Paper weight in the US is stated in lbs. and is determined by weighing 500 sheets (a ream) in the basis size of a particular paper.”

    • @CeriGriffiths

      I find the weight for paper thing very confusing as its pounds in the states and GSM here in the UK and converting them is a bit of a mine field.

      @@CeriGriffiths It seems like there ought to be some other measure that would make the thickness or strength of paper clearer.
