GuitarRazze In my opinion a lot of their known songs are kinda boring compared to their underrated stuff. Like catch 33, and other songs in their old albums
beneath poison rain and deconstructed skylines, horizon full of fire and clouds; breathing is heavy music to resist the spell of the witch that is summoning the beast; waves of death overruning the youth
Over the last 3 years or so that I have been watching your videos you just continue to get better and better. You are the only person that I have seen that does "drum covers" that are actually very enjoyable to watch. You also seem to really be enjoying yourself and it shows in your playing. Keep up the great work and remember, never forget to UP THE IRONS!!!!!
Thanks for all of these great covers you do, Josh. Your videos are super fun to watch, and you cover a lot of my favorite bands. I love that there are dudes like you out there taking the time and energy to cover all these songs. Between listening, learning, tuning your kit (any drummer knows tuning drums is a motherfucker), memorizing and practicing these songs. Not to mention the incredibly time consuming task of recording a solid take, editing footage and making sure the sound quality is awesome. You must put some serious time into these videos, and it shows. I respect that kind of passion in a person. Kudos, brother. Keep up the good work.
spectacular, I wish more people understood the relevance of this song. It sucks that this isn't as well known as it should be. Great job dude, way to rock it the fuck out!
subscribed!!! Passion, impression that you got - astonishing!! And the taste in making covers! Just saw in recomended Gojira's Flying Whales - clicked the button! Godlike job! Keep this foooooyaaaaa!!!!
Practice like I did I’m 13 and have drumming since I was about 12. And I practice a lot I’m already playing dream theater, Metallica, slayer, megadeth, rush etc.
Josh Steffen i like this song too but since bleed is known for its drums, i thought you must have covered it. It is said Tomas Haake took a lot of time to get bleed right.
It was released in 1994, but that doesn't make your comment any less awesome. It blows my mind that Destroy Erase Improve was released in 95. That album made a huge splash in metal. Pantera and Meshuggah paved the way for most of my favorite bands. True innovation.
The stoke is high....Love it now I want to go play my drums!!How come you have your bass drum beaters so high? Not because I think its bad, I always put mine in the middle I never thought about changing that and what it might do for the sound, thanks
For real you could do a studio drum track for any song in one take. Where as the actual drummers in the band have to do many takes to make it sound as clean as it is on the album, not to mention the amount of protools used today
I don't really listen to Meshuggah, but not gonna lie this was awesome bro!
Didn’t expect to find you here?
You are missing out on meshuggah
Gucci belt on.....
I know that people have different tastes in music. But people who don't listen to meshuggah have to living a boring and miserable existence.
A soup comment from wayy back in a music channel,?
Holy shit this is my all time favorite meshuggah song... though it's not really a known song compared to their more popular songs. Might do a cover
Their mix of guitar and bass tone is so badass on this ep.
+Josh Steffen Periphery-Racecar ?)
do iittt

4:25 LOVE that riff :-D
Never would've expected my favorite Minecraft UA-camr on my favorite Drummers' page. I must be dreaming haha.
are you a meshuggah fan ? I just watched your wood farm video lol. Can't believe this. What's your favorite meshuggah song ?
Xisuma!! It's awesome to see you here man. :D
My favourite is the one starting at 2:26
you make drumming look easier than breathing. Absolutely amazing.
wagsbass haha!! For some drummers, drumming is like breathing!! :)
@@rsn9394 Like e.g Mario Duplantier from Gojira, Double bass for Mario is like drinking coffee while reading a book, so easy for him.
beneath poison rain and deconstructed skylines, horizon full of fire and clouds; breathing is heavy music to resist the spell of the witch that is summoning the beast; waves of death overruning the youth
One of the sickest outro ever
Ah, back when James Hetfield was in Meshuggah ;)Nice addition at 3:04, your signature move :)
;)
James hechhfield
Jens Hetfield
Hames Jetfield.
"Sickening" this masterpiece deserve a drum cover.
Correct.

Been following josh for a few years now and I just discovered that he covered one of my favorite Meshuggah songs. Awesome!!
This is the song. Such a great mix on this album.
Yeah. The whole album is mixed really well. Maybe you can cover Ritual or Sickening next. Would be really cool!!
Haven't seen a video of yours in years, glad I came across you again! Subbed, and liked!
That riff right there started everything! Djent, modern breakdown metal, ...everything!
there's soooooo muuuuuuuuuch groooooooove in meshuggah, oh.
This reminds me of American Head Charge, and I didn't even remember that band for years up until now, lol. Great playing as always, Josh.

The cymbal choke at 1:28 was DEFINITELY for me! #drumsonlycrowd #omghelookedoverhere

Practice my friend! You'll get there!
Practice like I did I’m 13 and have drumming since I was about 12. And I practice a lot I’m already playing dream theater, Metallica, slayer, megadeth, rush etc.
Any possibility you can do a cover of "So heavy" by Psychostick? It's a fun song with a lot of different comps.
I love to see a drummer stay true to the parts. but meshuggah dang bro that's killer just as good as the best A++
awesome as always
only 16k views? i thought I had watched it more than that...
Thanks for sharing
U're amazing! BIG HUGS from VENEZUELA! good man
Awesome cover as always!
this gave me goosebumps. i was searching for your cover of bleed.
+Devarsh Raval this was the ideal meshuggah sound for me
Josh Steffen i like this song too but since bleed is known for its drums, i thought you must have covered it. It is said Tomas Haake took a lot of time to get bleed right.
Awesome man ! Really love the "awh...fuck !" at the end xD
Amazing! Looks so easy when you do your stuff.
I am looking to get into meshuggah what songs can I listen to that are good
Beatiful....and i mean the cover.
How about recording a "Cadaverous Mastication" cover? Very underrated but still very great song!
Or Abnegating Cecity ;)
awesome cover!
Ever thought about covering some Offspring songs? A lot their old stuff is pretty fun to play.
Noice. I just started listening to Meshuggah recently.
Me too
Hey Josh, any chance you could do Bleed?
I want to try meshuggah maybe in 3 years lol amazing
Always awesome.
Really good brother.
You can’t make a gross enough face when that riff at 0:43 drops
It drops like a guillotine
Awesome Josh!

WHY HAVE I ONLY JUST DISCOVERED THIS
Bad ass dude I've been stalking the hell out of your channel
The stoke is high....Love it now I want to go play my drums!!How come you have your bass drum beaters so high? Not because I think its bad, I always put mine in the middle I never thought about changing that and what it might do for the sound, thanks
I think they're normal height. I use a 20" bass drum though. I chose a 20" for ideal tom placement.
can you please to a cover of Ritual, That would be so badass!!!!
"Bleed" please? xD
What's the hardest song you know how to play?
Hard to say. any Meshuggah is a real challenge. I think the most challenging to date was learning Super Mario Bros Djent.
+Josh Steffen Try Meshuggah "I".
If you don't headband at the end of the song you never will I'm at my college and everyone's looking at me like I'm nuts it's MESHuGGAH and JoSH
Headbang excuse me
Meshuggah!!
NICE! Deep in the pocket.
do more meshuggah
Would love to see you play Meshuggah's 'Break those bones whose sinews gave it motion', imo Meshuggah's best ... but lovin this Josh
Hey Josh, do u have a spotify/music playlist? If so how many songs are in it?
No. I load my mp3 player with songs I'd like to play. There's probably 100 on there.
For real you could do a studio drum track for any song in one take. Where as the actual drummers in the band have to do many takes to make it sound as clean as it is on the album, not to mention the amount of protools used today
this was the riddle of episode #1 of "how meshuggah are you" :)
great cover again :D one of the best of their tracks ! ever tried trivium ?
Awesome ✊
I'll title this. ..fucking epic. going in my favorites.
You need to do more Meshuggah. IF you can. Yes, that's a challenge. Lol
DAT end :)
Great job dude! You nailed it. Question: Did you play to a click? My senses tell me this isn't a constant tempo.
+Rik Haaksman I just played to the song
Josh this is fn awesome, I'd love to see ya do Future Breed Machine, or New millenium cyanide christ, either would be badass, good job on that tho.!
