  • Hiked up to Bluebird Lake in Wild Basin, Rocky Mountain National Park on 6/23/2024. This was the first time I made it up to this lake. It was a relatively long hike to reach it, and the remaining snow made it tougher to navigate, however it’s well worth the effort as the lake was simply stunning. The hike itself was also quite enjoyable with lots of waterfalls along the way gushing this time of the year. The background music of this video was kept at minimum so you can enjoy the sights/sound of Wild Basin. Total stats: 13.8 miles with 2760ft elevation gain

Impressive remaining snow/ice and runoff. Beautiful panorama. Thanks!

One of the prettiest lakes in RMNP. I think I'll wait until that steep snow slope is melted out. Beautiful video!

Good idea. By then wild flowers will be in full bloom

This hike brings back such fond memories with its stunning scenery. I hiked this a year ago in early July, under similar conditions with the multiple snowpacks.
I recommend hiking Lion Lake 1 & 2 *INCLUDING* Snowbank Lake. The first six miles is through monotonous forest with the seventh mile delivering the goods - more stunning scenery.

Beautiful hike. I have yet to explore this area of the basin. Lots of snow still.

Truly wonder area. It will be even more beautiful when the wild flowers are at their peak in a couple of weeks! I also plan to check out Lions Lakes, maybe combine that with Mt Alice later this summer after the snow is gone

@@rugged9769 I did Lion Lakes last year on 8/19 and it was fantastic. Haven't done Mt. Alice but I do have Chiefs Head on the itinerary for August/September.

Did Chiefshead last summer. Long day but summit views are well worth the effort. Enjoy!
