    It always bothers me how Corey's initial offer is ALWAYS less than half of what he would sell it for. He learned his lowball skills from Rick and then took them one step further.

      You must know whom you wanna dealt with the item you wanna sell. Corey is number one for Bikes. Rick and Old man likes old car, coin, silver, antiques then product with American history. The last is Chum whose likes toys, shoes, modern product and unique item. Outside their interest, they would really lowballs you because they don't like it. It's like you offer a Starwars item to a Car Collector, it won't work for sure.

      @@d-3po977 I just saw the exact one on eBay for sale and it is in brand new condition for $1,900 and the box appears to be in better condition. It has been on EBAY since Sep 2020 waiting to be sold. So the Toy Expert may have estimated the value a little high (and the demand).

    Jeez, normally they initially offer half the appraisal of a given item but Cory basically offered A THIRD of its value. I understand it's business but I think buyers should expect to get at least like 60-65 percent of the appraisal.

      Dang. The pawn shops around here (Pawn King, Specifically), go on ebay, find the sellers item for the lowest price on there, and then give them 40% of that. No negotiations. So you think these guys are low ballers? Lol.

      @@karaDee2363 Depends on item and price point. Antigues/historical high value are a big risk in terms of theft forgerys replicas etc. Don't always fetch price you think at auction. Things with tangible value "gold" that can be sold as gold yeah 65-70%. Things that have relative value regardless of condition they are starting with low book and niche items that either need long time to sell at max price or "auction" 40-50%

    “I am going to sleep just fine without having this robot” Is this how one talk to a customer? No wonder how these guys went bankrupt and had to close down (thats what i heared). Serves them right. Corey is just a rude co owner who never had to work hard but got everything served right to him by Rick and the Old Man.
    If this kind of behavior is shown by any shopkerper in India, entire public would have thrashed him right there.

      What Corey tried to say is that they don't have to buy it, it is a PAWNSHOP he doesn't need that robot at the price that the customer wants, the customer had another choice and could have sold it to a collector himself but obviously needed some quick money and that's how a pawnshop works.

    I would have walked out unless I got $1500. I understand that you should not expect full price at a pawn shop. However, you have to stand up for yourself and not be desperate to sell below what something is worth. I have noticed Corey usually low balls people more than Rick or Chumely.
