Phil is wrong about the music room. It's NOT a shed and it WILL ADD VALUE!! Edinburgh is in the North where it is COLD and miserable through most of the year and the garden isn't 'user friendly' for months. And... AND... and MUSIC IS IMPORTANT!!! This family's children will have the advantage of a father who is aligned with THE CREATIVE SPIRIT!!! Bravo!

Phil was giving economic advice in spending 30k Will not increase the value of their property as it takes up 25% of the garden and they didn’t even add on the conservatory yet. Or might not get permission for the conservatory if they put in the music shed.

@@Holidaygal I believe they are buying the house as a HOME in which to bring up their children FIRST, secondarily as an investment. The father's values around music (The Arts) being important are laudable. Of course Phil was giving financial advice, that's his job. But in THIS instance, I think the father is right. I visited Scotland in July and had to wear wool: It was FREEZING COLD!! So, indoor space is more valuable in a very Northern clime.

Sadly Amy didn't look out that kitchen window. She is so obsessed with the front door she didn't see that the flat perpendicular looks right in her window. The other kitchen looked over rooftops with a lot more privacy. You can lacquer any door.

They made fun of the guy's music passion from start to finish, I really felt for him.Why should Dom give up all his dreams just because he has a family? I have had an art studio in every house I've lived. Sometimes it was a corner of a basement or in a shed. Right now it's a spare bedroom. But it is something I will always have and brings me joy. During Covid lockdown and a cancer battle it saved my life.

Parents have more in their lives than being parents. My mom joined a softball team a few years after I was born, and was a great shortstop. My parents also were on bowling teams. If mom could have had a room of her own, she would have taken up writing earlier.

Exactly and why (in 2008 no less) go into that kind of debt and not get the one thing you dreamed of having in your home? Absurd.

The level to which they pooh-pooh Dom's musical avocation is shocking. If someone needed a home office, library, gym, or yoga room in order to keep their sanity, would that meet with such incredulity and disdain? Music is no mere game but a deeply soul-soothing practice.

(19:20) Ok... the kitchen has 3 windows and that's amazing ... however, I've seen larger sinks in tiny houses. You'd be hard put to wash up a tea cup in that sink. It's the sort of 'second sink' one sees in grand kitchens (or as part of a bar set up) but, AS A MAIN SINK, it's bloody useless. The STOVE, on the other hand, is GORGEOUS!!!

I didn't care for her in the original episode of this and liked her even less in this follow up episode. She's too self-obsessed, even down to lingering outside her front door so that others can see her walking through it! Her attitude is one of her way or the highway and her clear egocentric ways have done nothing to endear her as a character. She cares only about the impression she gives off and being better than others. Yuk.
