Most kids did NOT go on senior trips or spring break trips, and paying for a kid to go on a cruise was unheard of, as there were FAMILY vacations, not solo kid vacations. I messaged them on FB and no one replied. I email them and also no one replied. Then I saw all the angry comments by other customers, some waiting as long as 6 hours and still no pizza 😦 3hours later, we were so hungry, I ordered Pizza Hut and the moment I paid, Dominos knocked on my door 😑
Reviews don't matter I took my car to a well rated mechanic they jacked it on the suspension bent the subframe then jacked it on the oil pan broke a seal and when fixing it I had to buy like 20 more seals which could not be replaced when I remove them people can buy good reviews and even delete the bad ones

This is why you go to a reputable dealership because there’s a lot of people out there that will claim their reputable dealership and stuff like this happens a lot and it sucks. Sorry to the family that they ended up losing their daughters car because the company that they thought they got the car from was a reputable dealership and it got repossessed. The people that took their money should give them back their money payment you don’t do that to somebody that walks in with cash and gives you money like that, when I bought my second car, I went to Kia. I paid 5000 for my car to get it off the dealership lot. I work with Kia every single day day in and day out. I don’t have problems with my team my financing or the financing company that owns the car I’m so grateful that I’ve got a good team that’s working with me.
Yes, the $1,000 was in cash. But the remaining $16,000 was taken out as a loan by the buyers. The loan company puts up the $16,000 (and gives it to the dealership), and the buyers have to repay the loan company. So the dealership ends up having the full price of the car, $17,000. And the buyers end up with nothing but a debt to pay back and no car. The dealership technically still owned the car, since they never made transfer, and the buyers now own a $16,000 debt.
@@300booksnot even remotely true, do you honestly think a bank is forking over $16,000 without a title as collateral? An electronic registration is automatically run in most states to secure a title and it's pretty much instantaneous, if they had gotten a loan, there's no way the bank would have paid for a title they didn't have and if I pay cash outright for a car there's no way I'm walking away without clear information that the only person's name on the title is mine, it's the exact same way a bank operates. My last two cars, both brand new, 1 bought in Louisiana and the other in Texas, I had confirmation the only names on my title was mine and Acura Financial DBA American Honda Financial Corporation and while I didn't have the title in hand I had electronic confirmation in hand to prove who's name the title was in and the registration printed in my name and the lienholder.

She’s barely graduating and the world already is stepping on her it’s not right. She did everything right, graduated, and this bs happens to her. God bless her parents for doing the absolute best they can be. I hope things get better for them
More proof 90% of people have no idea how to purchase a car.
That's really sad. I don't buy anything, from anywhere (obviously I'm talking about big ticket items) without thoroughly investigating the business I'm thinking of using. I'd avoid any of the little corner used car lots at ALL costs because God knows where they are getting the vehicles from. Always, especially when willing to spend that kind of money, go to a well established and reputable business. I'm sorry this happened to them.
If my parents were going to spend $17,000 cash for a gift for me, I would say I appreciate it but I'd rather use that to put as a down payment for a house or some land.
They paid way more for that than I paid for my rav 4😮 that’s messed up! I hope they get every dime back!
Yeah for $17,000 cash. I could have found them a beautiful vehicle. Not saying what they got wasn’t nice. But…damn!
People in the comments shaming the victim are insane
The owners of the dealer need to be tracked down by the feds and held accountable.. 17 thousand dollars!? They should get every penny back and sue for more.
That sucks! Saying prayers for her & her family.
wow..... what a slap in the face for the family !!!! hope they catch these criminals.
I'm so sorry this happened to them. I couldn't imagine the pain of saving up that much money just to have someone screw you over. I'm sure that car was meant to get their child to college and from college 😢.
17k car for HS graduation gift? I got a meal at Sizzler steakhouse back in 1982, which was probably about 10 bucks back rhen.
She probably also had an extravagant Quinceanera. I do not know where these people get all this money. I just know I and my family never had it.
@@alexstokowsky6360Old money. 😀 A guy said his Family were Millionaires for Centuries, but in like 2022, his Grandpa took the Millions and gambled it away in Casinos, and lost those Millions. I know Grandson was pissed! 😡🤬
@@karicewillis hmmm...I wonder if he really just hid it in an offshore account or something. Saying you spent it at a casino is a good way to launder it or explain it going missing. But if its true, Grandpa was stupid!
I’ll be going on a cruise my graduation year. Either your family was low income or your parents just didn’t believe in spending a bunch of money.
@@whyme3772 Back when Sizzler was a thing, it was most likely the 70s, 80s max. The middle class was much bigger, but parents had larger families and did NOT spoil their kids. Most kids in high school did not have cars, unless it was a junker they bought themselves and worked on themselves. Most kids did NOT go on senior trips or spring break trips, and paying for a kid to go on a cruise was unheard of, as there were FAMILY vacations, not solo kid vacations. Kids might get an allowance but they had to WORK for it, mowing the lawn or doing other work. Yeah, kids today have it good, but they have very little mechanical aptitude or toughness to show for it.
This isn't a bond issue. Take your paperwork to the lean holder that repossessed. You paid cash, the car is yours. They have the issue with the group that sold you the car, not you.
Not everyone knows that stuff or to look up the dealership. I’ve never looked up a dealership. I’m sure laws are different in different states but I’ve never heard of that bond thing either. I feel so bad for them. Maybe they can find where the car is by the vin number
I hope by now she has her money refunded! And arrest those involved in the scam!!!!!
Ngl I’m glad I heard the story I did.. when you see pics like this with that caption.. thought she passed.. I know she’s prolly mad asf but at least she’s alive 😭💯
Me toooo! I’m like oh my! what kind of gift did what to her?!😳😆 sad situation tho.
why tf would you pay $17k CASH to a "car dealership" that only has 195 followers? Ya'll have to be a little bit more cautious than that if you're giving that much cash for anything.
I paid only 3Gs for my first car. A 1981 Honda Civic with a manual transmission. That was a sweet ride!
$600 for my first. 1983 bronco manual 4 speed. I bought it myself when I was 15. That way I had a whole year to work on it. I still miss it. Drunk driver hit it while it was parked on the side of the road. And I didn’t know I could buy it back from insurance company till after it was gone. Sucks losing your first vehicle. Probably even worse having it stolen from you.
My 1st car was a 1994 Honda accord in 2006...its was crispy...$700 i think...$1200 max
Paying 17k for THAT car from some random lot is CRAZY. I got my 2012 GTI for way less than that.... and its in VERY good condition
I hate it for them, I couldn’t freaking imagine having to deal with that. I seriously hope they can get something back. BUT… $17 grand is a mad ripoff to begin with 🤦🏻♂️
I bought a 90's Saturn off a car lot 5 years ago for $3,000 and it took forever to get the title , I finally did and the next week I drove by and the car lot was gone which i thought was odd, it didn't turn out like this though, The car actually turned out to be a good deal and i"m still driving it but it was odd how the car lot was gone a week after getting the title....
That was still a bad deal go anywhere thats not a dealer thats car was worth $500
17 k for that car ..that car not worth 17k. Buy from a reputable stable dealer.
If they said they were saving for a long time why didn't they go to a Honda dealer they wouldn't have that problem
Sometimes you got to be the investigator after this happens to you
Don’t go to these fake dealerships it’s really not worth it. I hope they at least get their money back or something 🤦🏽♀️
Life lesson learned: Always check for reviews 😂
2 months ago I ordered Dominos and no pizzaman was seen after 1 hour, after 2 hours I realised how late it was and called but their operators had clocked off work. I messaged them on FB and no one replied. I email them and also no one replied. Then I saw all the angry comments by other customers, some waiting as long as 6 hours and still no pizza 😦
3hours later, we were so hungry, I ordered Pizza Hut and the moment I paid, Dominos knocked on my door 😑
😅😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Reviews don't matter I took my car to a well rated mechanic they jacked it on the suspension bent the subframe then jacked it on the oil pan broke a seal and when fixing it I had to buy like 20 more seals which could not be replaced when I remove them people can buy good reviews and even delete the bad ones
I check food reviews, and thsts only $40 ...17k? Im researching
Gotta love how they just casually blame the victims at the end of the video.
Grade A news guys. Wonderful job.
Spoiled children. When I graduated I got a pack of underwear and a pat on the back.
If the dealership took back the car but didn't give back the money...thats theft. How is this legal?
a lien is created when someone finances a car. she bought the car cash, so there wasn't supposed to be one for her. it was on the dealership. they never in turn paid the bank with the money. they got over on her for 17k.
Man the American dream dies one cut at a time. I’m so sick and tired of this kind of garbage holding back people from getting ahead.
They shouldn’t have had to look up their ratings. The state shouldn’t have allowed this business to operate in their state! WTH
The people behind this need to go to jail.
Exactly and they need to do a lifetime in jail in general population.
BBB is not always the best way to evaluate a business. BBB charges businesses annually for a A+ rating. I once choose a doctor from their A+ list and got butchered big time!
This was a TERRIBLE title for this video. 🙄
Thes is the worst reporting i have ever seen. Vehicle purchase payed in cash. Dealers lean holder "steals" payed off car. Reporter suggests insurance claim against the Dealers bond. Wtf????
Man it's crazy to me that people don't research before making large purchases. Even after I do the research it takes me a while to decide.
Just buy your own car. My parents didn’t contribute a penny for my car. I bought it myself.
she would've got screwed either way since it was the dealerships fault.

Honestly this is a lot better than I thought it was gonna be. I thought she got into a car crash! She better get her money back
It said she only paid 1000?
Soon a gofundme will give them at least 50K back
The receipt said they paid $1000 and the balance was $16060
Right
On the top portion of the invoice it says balance 0 paid with check $16600.
Watch the video again.
that’s the bottom half of the receipt. Pause the video as soon as the paper comes on screen to see the whole thing.
She paid $16,600 with a cheque and $1000 with cash
Look again at 1:05 there are two checks!
A hope everything ended well for this family!
You can be scammed with an A rated company by the BBB. Don't pick on people because they made a mistake because one day it could be you making a simple mistake.
$17,600 for a little PeeWee car.
No good deed goes unpunished
Did they make any payments towards the 16000.00 balance due?????? Receipt shows only 1000.00 paid towards car purchase.
Am I missing something? How can you have your car repossessed if the car was paid for in full with cash? Honestly I would say that car was stolen.

No title, no cash. Amazing how gullible people are.
Normally if someone gets screwed like this I lean toward supporting the victim, as you can't be expected to expect everything, but when you're dealing with a vast sum of money you should always do research before you buy no matter what it is you're buying.
I hope they get their $$ back
This is why you go to a reputable dealership because there’s a lot of people out there that will claim their reputable dealership and stuff like this happens a lot and it sucks.
I smell a gofundme
That's why title in hand is so important at the transaction. Hopefully they'll get most of the money back.
Never never never buy anything without a title.
No title, no ownership.
The receipt shows only $1k cash as down payment?????
Yes, the $1,000 was in cash. But the remaining $16,000 was taken out as a loan by the buyers. The loan company puts up the $16,000 (and gives it to the dealership), and the buyers have to repay the loan company. So the dealership ends up having the full price of the car, $17,000. And the buyers end up with nothing but a debt to pay back and no car. The dealership technically still owned the car, since they never made transfer, and the buyers now own a $16,000 debt.
2:29 says cash down payment 17,600 on the printed sheet the written one could have been forged
My last two cars, both brand new, 1 bought in Louisiana and the other in Texas, I had confirmation the only names on my title was mine and Acura Financial DBA American Honda Financial Corporation and while I didn't have the title in hand I had electronic confirmation in hand to prove who's name the title was in and the registration printed in my name and the lienholder.
plus a check for the rest.
@@300books At 1.04, you can see the top receipt payment via Check for $16,600.00 thus, Zero balance due. The video only zoomed in on the 2nd receipt with Cash payment of $1,000.00.

These journalists tried to make it the family's fault there at the end. They hadn't done anything wrong. They thought it was a legit dealership, the dealership did them dirty
Is it just me or does that receipt show a 1k down payment with 16k still owed?
Facts
Uhm, if the car was purchased through a legal business there has to be some record. The VIN of a vehicle is always the same, if it is legal. They should be able to find this car, I think.
If you're going to pay that amount of money for a used car, you may as well buy a new one...for goodness sakes, it's a Honda Civic. I never got why people paid crazy prices for used cars when the brand new model isn't that far off in price and sometime it's very close to the same price.
bro really called it a "honda civic" lmao do some research my guy.
@@commanderhasbulla3732 Honda, Toyota, Chevy Cobalt, whatever, if you have 18k to spend on a used car, save yourself headache and disappointment and just buy a new one. I haven't bought a used car since I was a teenager and my father always told me never spend a boatload of money on a used car because you don't know what has happened to it and never buy a used car that you don't expect to junk in 1 year, I've never paid more than 2k for a used car and I owned 2 as a teenager the first one is a 1991 model and is still running around town, the second one lasted me until I sold first brand new car.
