I had been an English teacher in Russia for 17 years before I came to USA. Now, I learn English from this channel and each time I come to conclusion that I don't know english at all. With Marina I started to get confidence because of extremely improving my language skills. The best educational UA-cam channel.
The true T sound? Wow it's new for me, Learning English with Native Speakers just the best idea to improve our english, they can teach us In dept English.😁
Mam you are my favorite teacher on youtube. I am trying to learn english on my own. The people like you on youtube help me very much on my journey.I am indebted to you .Best wishes always.
Addendum: Dr Geoff Lindsey has a video about how t, k and p aren't aspirated after the letter s, so store actually sounds like sdore and speech like sbeech. It's very interesting and important to know as to not mispronounce the letter t.
Esta es una lección muy importante. Ahora ya entiendo porqué sonaban tan raro las palabras en las conversaciones de las películas en inglés. Pondré en práctica estas valiosas enseñanzas. Muchas gracias... Saludos desde Colombia...👋👍
As a native who has lived in the US and Canada and recognizes different pronunciation, I'd say that you can ignore practically everything said here about different types of "t" pronunciation. It is simply overly complicated and totally unnecessary. The things to focus on are "th" (therefore, thatched, theory) and others like "tion" (e.g. vacation) - that is when t is close to other letters. These "neighbors" tell you how to pronounce the t. You do not have to adopt American sayings, slang or pronunciations. Americans often make mistakes when speaking casually and there's no reason to emulate them. You can be understood perfectly by focussing on grammar or just practicing reading aloud published material which has been checked for grammar. If you go to Stanford or any top university you'll hear all kinds of different pronunciations and this is normal. Another example is to listen to world leaders speak English. No one speaks exactly the same way, but they all speak clearly when giving formal speeches.
Marina and Angela thanks a Lot for your time and let me tell you that this video was amazing. Those sounds are very tricky and for people like me, spanish speaker, was very instructive. A big hug for you from Peru
