The driver seat in the Rogue is much more confortable than the Rav4 and this is the reason why my vote goes to Nissan.
your not wrong my friend!
So you don't like comfort ??
To me that’s crucially important: comfortable driving seat.
I would probably go with the Nissan as well. It's just a nicer vehicle inside and out.
Facts the rav4 is unbelievable terrible
Own a 2009 Rav4 with 258,754 miles. No problems at all. Reliability is definitely there!!
thanks for the comments thats a lot of miles
Purchased the 2022 Rogue with 3 cylinder turbocharged engine last summer. Very pleased with performance and economy. This is my first SUV having been a pickup driver for many years. Strongly recommend the Nissan Rogue with SV Premium package and AWD.
My dealer provides lifetime warranty on power train which is nice! ❤
thats awesome so happy you are enjoying your rogue
Thank God a review of base models.. what I'd really like is to see a comparison after 7 years of hard driving
thanks for commenting I can see if we have pre owned ones
Great vid , I am a current 2018 Rav 4 owner and the unbiased review was appreciated.
thanks for watching
Using 1.5l 2022 Rogue for 6 months, have to admit pleasantly surprised with the extra power and awesome mileage it provides. Not sure about the longevity of CVT but all my friends of Tiguan and Crv envy the driver seat comforts of Rogue.
Thanks for sharing
It’s unmatched
Finally! A Base model comparison! Other UA-camrs did higher trims.. Anyway, Great job with the review man! I'm very disappointed with the RAV4. 2022 is the refresh for the 5th gen Rav4 and pretty much still looks the same except they improved the headlights on higher trims. I'm surprised that the Rogue comes standard with Alloys wheels unlike the RAV4.
thanks for watching my friend glad you enjoyed the review!
I think the new Rav is radically different. The powerplant and body styling are waaaay distinct
Rogue for me... way too many Rav4's outhere but that doesn't mean its bad.. if you want something different - there ya go :)
great choice
My first option was buying Rav 4 but I saw the 2022 Rogue and end up buying the Rogue S as it gives you more than the Rav 4 base model.
great choice
I feel the same way. I’m unsure whether to purchase the rav4 or the Rogue but I’m definitely leaning towards the Rogue. Way more features. How have you been enjoying your Rogue?
Unless it's different in Canada, the 2022 Nissan Rogue comes with 201 horsepower not 181. The horsepower change came with the three cylinder engine.
Also the 22 Nissan Rogue gets 37 Mpg.
This one is the s model and still has the regular 2.5 4 cylinder the turbo comes in the sv models and up
@@carsunlocked In the United States, you get the I3.
Is the new Rogue 2022 have a 3 cylinder engine across all trims? That's what I heard. Can you reconfirm this is the 2022 Rogue you are reviewing and it has 4 cylinders for the base trim?
yes the turbo 3 cylinder comes in the SV trim level and up. This is base package therefore comes with the 4 cylinder
@@carsunlocked
I just checked with Nissan, they say ALL trims are equipped with 3 cylinders engine
I found out in Canada the lowest trim level is still equipped with 4 cylinders so you are right. In America it’s all 3 cylinders
Very helpful. Thank you🎉
You’re welcome 😊
As far as how the vehicle handles if it's very windy outside the rogue is the way to go because the Toyota will feel like it's bobbing back and forth in wind. Also I had a a Rav for 2 years and now I have a rogue can I much prefer the rogue
great input from someone who owns both. Thanks for commenting
I haven’t driven the Rogue but the Rav is a powerful vechile. The suspension could be a bit better (which is needed for these mean streets in New York City) but the acceleration is responsive and powerful. To be a big heavy car the handling was great! I felt like I was in complete control on the turns, accelerating and braking. The only issue I had was the key remote. When pressing the button to open and close the doors sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t- it probably needed a battery change.
great insight here thanks for your comments
The current odometer reading on my 2022 RAV4 XLE Hybrid is 3,012 miles. I'm averaging 40 MPG in the city, and 36.2 on limited access highways with cruise control set at 78 MPH. My plan is to keep this vehicle until 2034 or 2035. I am convinced by history that the total cost of ownership for the Nissan Rogue would be much higher within that same time frame.
hey thanks for commenting i hope your car last that long
@@carsunlocked, The best way of adding value to any vehicle is through meticulous upkeep and with gentle driving.
My 21 Rogue has not disappointed. SV means super value and it really is quite loaded for the price.
thanks for watching!
correction: the Rouge is $ 1,708 more. But has more extras included.
ok thanks for commenting
I have a 21 xle rav4 currently at 28,000 miles we got it w 0 miles, love it so much. I just wish the trim had more features
hey congrats on your vehicle thanks for watching
How much did you but it ?
@@ouryoutube8961 we got it last year in may- after taxes and my negative equity from my old car it came out to 37k. It’s our family vehicle as to why we’re already at almost 30k miles 😅
My family is a Nissan family. My wife's is Toyota. I don't doubt Toyota may be slightly more reliable overall but, Nissans have more character IMHO.
thanks for commenting
I drive Nissan X Trail 2.0 year 2016 until now i don't have any problem issue, fuel efficiency is really good, driving to the mountains oh my goodness its powerful, responsive just put it manuel gear, fun to drive, very smooth, kick down the gas pedal very aggressive, chassis is excellent especially turn around
wow thanks awesome thanks for watching
The 2002 Rogue is a 2.5? Can you confirm that? It’s only 1.5 turbocharged Rogues out there.
yes on this entry level s model on the rogue is a 2.5l 4 cyclinder on the higher trim levels its the turbo 3 cyclinder. The rogue in this video is the base model
Toyota is always a good choice if you want to wonder which of the 500 red cars in the parking lot is yours.
lol good point
With the new Nissan Xtrail/Rogue Toyota need to change the game .
For the Rogue, Even turned on the safety shield 360, if you are not on active cruise control, it will not warn or intervene when you drive out of your lane at 40mph or higher?
no it should
@@carsunlocked I tried it again, even with the pro pilot assist on, then stamp on the brake to take full control, then the Lane Departure Assist will stop working. I veered the cross the lane, it does not alert nor intervene.
On my experience with a 2020 Rav4, it alerts even without turning anything on. Can you verify yours work the same?
I love my Rouge! ❤️💕♥️
thanks for watching
What about that CVT transmission that Nissan has been having problems with?? Has it improved??? Otherwise Toyota for me!
Nissan has stated they have made big improvements to the transmission
I am planning to buy Suv now..I like the looks of Rogue and power of RaV4...still in confusion???
well i hope this video helped with your decision
Which SUV did you end up buying?
I'm looking at moving from my 2015 Camry to cross-over or suv in this size. Did the 2.5L 4cyl. in the Nissan go out even in the base Rogue S in 2022? Nissan website states it too gets the 1.5L 3-cyl turbo. I kept and enjoyed my 2001 Jetta for 15 years. I'd hang on to the Camry but need the higher drivers seat for ease of entry. A new base engine is concerning for reliability. Especially 3cyl turbo that will if pushed could run at higher temps than a traditional non-turbo engine. Thanks for clarifying and excellent comparison on entry level models.
Hey Craig the 1.5 3 cyclinder turbo somes in the SV models and up the S comes with the standard 2.5 4 banger
I’m in the exact situation , i know my 2015 Camry will last much longer but I was the higher seat and something for the snow when needed
Nissan Rogue 😍😍
I was comparing the two and in the end I chose the Rogue since it has more features and the interior is nicer than the RAV4. Also, I got the SL which has more features than the one on this video
thanks for watching
I like the nissans got a 23 Altima not looking back
great choice
شكراً 🎉
thanks for watching
Got my 2023 Rogue yesterday😊
congrats
How much you spent for it?
Toyota cheeped out on some features, they need to do a total redesign !
Rouge overall for styling alone..
hopefully soon I am excited for the new highlander
@@carsunlocked Hate the Bulging sides on the 2022 H-Lander model.
The engine and transmission is more proven in the Toyota. I'm not knocking what Nissan accomplished and got out of a 3cyl turbo engine in terms of power and torque. However, as i always say with anything "NEW". For leases i'd take the plunge but for buyers i'd wait a year or two if you can. Until they have worked out any recalls etc...before dropping $35-40k on such a new vehicle.
thanks for watching great input !
What’s nice where I am is that Nissan gives a lifetime warranty on the powertrain! Might be worth looking in to if that’s the concern which is also why I’m so back and forth on buying one.
@@carsunlocked In the USA it seems tha the variable compression engine is not proving to be too reliable.
W hen is the E powered Nissan X Trial coming to Canada
no eta yet still waiting on the ARyia
I wish other manufacturers would do as the equinox and make the rear seat slide back these two have no room in back seats!!
yea its a good feature
Putting aside the less backseat space, regular hubcaps and old fashion key fob, the Toyota wins by a hair. However, did you say that the Toyota had the stop/start feature ? If so, then I would choose the Nissan.
Do you not like that feature my friend?
@@carsunlocked No, I don't like the start/stop feature. That's a more of a deal breaker than the CVT. 🙂
@@Stephen_A. Very easy to cancel.....
@@bextar6365 If the 2022 model can be cancelled each starting time.
@@Stephen_A. I PUSHED THE BUTTON DOWN AND WEDGED IN A PIECE OF CREDIT CARD.........That stopped it forever or until I remove the wedge !
1) Styling 2)Reliability 3)Comfort
Toyota wins 🏆 because of reliability, my heart is with Nissan but they need to do more like a hybrid is definitely needed. The 2023 CRV beats both these vehicles across the board!
thanks for watching I gotta get my hands on a cRV
Toyota is no more "Reliable"
Rogue wins the comfort
Rogue also wins the styling is more unique and more Aerodynamic
@@adalbertomuriel3922 Lol!!!
Rogue is much more modern and feature rich SUV...CVT is an excellent than RAV4 automatic transmission..
thanks for watching!
Rogue for highway drivers. Rav 4 for city drivers
thanks for commenting
Rogue for me
glad we agree
I like the rav.
great choice
I would get the Rogue.
As would i
I got the Nissan Rogue
great choice
We didn't buy either, we bought 2 Hyundai Santa Fe models and are as happy as a Lark !!!
2 santa fes?
@@carsunlocked One for wife and one for me....= 2
Rogue is wayyyyy better! I hope I will get Rogue soon!
hey thanks for watching!
Rogue!!
great choice
I've heard so many complaints bout rav4 issues
thanks for commenting your the first to say this
What ever is it, Rogue is my choice!
Great choice
cabin noise on either?
id say more on the rav
Hy What do you advise me, my friend, I liked the Nissan please 😊
then go with it!
Rogue cvt transmission will fail long before the 8 speed geared transmission in the RAV4.
thanks for watching
Nissan for me
great choice
Buy rogue awd the rav4 is so terribly built I couldn’t believe it I bought it from Carvanna and everything about the car was subpar especially the seats and turn the key to start
thanks for watching
Please when stating fuel efficiency, always mention MPH so I don’t have to get my calculator.
sorry my friend I will do my best for you but I live in canada
@@carsunlocked Got it.
Nissan for sure
thanks for watching
Rogue👏👏👏
great choice
I think Nissan Rogue 2022 has 201 horsepower in US
the sv and up does
why are people so addicted to AWD? its not an end all be all. Don't really need it unless you live in the middle of yeehaw nowhere on loose dirt and shit
your not wrong its all in the marketing
Never got stuck in the snow, needing to get rocked out in either of my AWD vehicles, and better handling in anything up to moderate amounts of snow.
That's why I went AWD and haven't gone back.
Seriously? This guy lost me right off the top. The price difference is $1708 NOT $708! Let’s not let facts get in the way of a vehicle review.
Guess my math is off
7.9 l/100km is not 36 mpg
Its 29.7 mpg…
sorry perhaps my math was wrong
It’s actually 35.8 MPG. Imperial gallons up here in Canada.
Buy the rogue its the better car i regretted the rav4 its tterrible suv
thanks for the comments
For the ride I choice Nissan rogue.
For the long range volume choice RAV4
great choice
Why of course I would buy the less reliable car...... not
great response
Toyota offers nothing such boring ur paying just for the name
well your not wrong
Toyota interior is dated.
cant wait for the new highlander
I love mines the XLE is better
