I mean, Euphorbia Trigona trunks do thicken up and turn woody eventually, because in the wild they grow as large shrubs (similar to the elephant bush) so I wouldn't be too worried about the base, because it'll harden off as and when it needs to.
The Euphorbia Lactea White ghost probably needs more Light. I have mine directly under a 36W grow light and it's almost exclusively pushing out white growth. So yea it just needs a really really high amount of light to stay white ig.
Most cacti need to be watered regularly during their active growing season. Many cacti grow in tropical area where they have a literal rainy season. Just bear in mind that cacti that haven’t been watered for a long time are susceptible to splitting open after watering or rot if they’ve lost their roots. By the way, you need a separate plant to pollinate it. They are self-sterile.
I had to do a full grow light setup at my last place, sorry, it was a real pain to get done, but felt great when it was done, now though, I have TONS of lamps in storage cause of my great windows and plant purging I did.. I wasn’t a begonia gal either, until I saw the iridescence on the red and black Rex types leaves 😮 I’d leave the Euphorbia lactea as is for now, it’s still gorgeous
I've had a full summer of construction in front of my house and in my entrance and I work from home - I definitely can empathize! Hearing that ruckus is very annoying! I hope it gets done quickly!
On the topic of houseplants flowering, I just wanna mention that coleus go to seed and die after they flower so the blooms should be cut off as soon as you see them! (The funky colourful coleus I mean, not the edible one) I’ve got some coleus that try to flower constantly so I’m forever pinching off the buds lol
Hi Claire, I recommend Zylken for your dog, natural (if I remember correctly made of milk protein) calming capsules. I used to give them to my cat who was terrified of unusual outside noises and it worked well for him.
I feel like begonias are polarizing for me as well. I see some and I think they look lovely. Others I really really am not a fan of and find them also a bit...creepy? If that makes sense. It's the leaves and the coloring! Something about them creeps me out. But then a few varieties when they flower I think look gorgeous.
It would seem we have the same response & tolerance for beeping. 🙃 I hope things go as smoothly as possible for you three through the rest of the year. 🪴
Glad you are jumping on the coleus-train! They are colorful and plain, easier than aglaonema, and go upright without a pole. Love it! P.S. Love your piggy-pot 😊❤!
The gymnocalycium just needs water, the blooms don’t last long just enjoy them. When it’s blooming it needs more water than normal. It is a thirsty little guy.
Love all the plants you showed!! First video I've seen of yours and I really love how excited you are to talk about your plants !! I will definitely be adding some of these plants to my collection !
33:26 what I did with my African milk tree is once the new growth gets tall enough, I chop and prop to fill out the pot! New shoots will MULTIPLY that way! ❤❤ good luck! Love this short one!
You could always put up that film over your glass until the scaffolding is moved. Yes it'll take away a bit more light(you'll need more grow lights) but you'll have privacy until they're done the construction work.
Thank you for sharing the video. I'm sorry for the renovation problems. I'm stuck in the middle of renovating, which is a bit of a headache. I hope everything will be healthy and good in the end :-)
Love this video Claire! I hope the time flies with the construction! It would drive me crazy too! Hugs for you! I have a gymnocalycium variagated too. How often are you wartering yours? I'm trying to figure mine out too. I think I'm going to put it in a clear pot maybe to help me figure out the water situation.
I have a domino cactus that is in the process of flowering, enormous and gorgeous flowers that only last 24 hours, 3 flowers so far, hopefully a few more!
I've had my regular non variegated gymno for atleast 7 years and it has bloomed every year that I have had it. And it hasn't interfered with the speed of growth. I've had to upsize the pot 3 times.
I'm so sorry about how the construction is impacting you and your plants!! So stressful. I hope that you're able to get grow lights that take care of your plants!
I love the Begonia Sinbad too 😍 it's such a beautiful plant with amazing colours 😊 I really hope your Drymonia will start to grow better for you again!
Watching your videos lifts my spirit. 🥰 PS: My Corgis were flipping out with the truck beeping; I had to put on my headphones for them to be quiet.😊 🎧🐾🐾
13:22 I have a Sarawak and it grows like crazy! I don’t know if you got a bum plant or what is happening, but your experience is not what I’ve had. I’m glad you’re getting some growth now. Maybe buy another and see how it behaves.
So I scanned the tv when you held up the plant from your moms, and it is indeed a Coleus! Picture this says it is a Coleus Scutellarioides, also called a Painted Nettle. Im adding this to my wish list because that is gorgeous!
Hi Claire! Have you seen the Coleus amboinicus (variegata)? It's stunning! It has cream color all around the leaf margins. I see that version more often here in the US than the all green one. Hopefully you can find it over there, it would be so cool to have both versions!
If the White Ghost Cactus was mine, I would just leave it alone. Cactus aren't like other plants that you can keep chopping a trying to grow. They like to be left alone to grow. Same as your other variegated cactus, Leave the FLOWER'S alone, enjoy them. Your not in a huge hurry for it to grow bigger really fast, so once again. Leave it alone. Your so used to taking flowers off your big plants, and chopping them, but cactus are not the same. Just leave them alone, feed them a cactus fertilizer, and be Happy with them. Kathy from Alberta Canada, who's cactus and succulent collection is growing slowly bigger all the time. :)
Hi Claire, as always, I really enjoyed this video. I think the coleus from your Mom looks like a form of Inky Fingers. You might check if that might be the case?
Euphorbia Lactea White Ghost will revert to green if you don't give her enough light. I would take off the green offshoots and start again otherwise they will take over the plant
don´t propagate it in moss if you want to go semi hydro, it´s so annoying to get the moss of the roots later! propagating in water or damp perlite or even eperlite+fluval stratum is way better if you know you want to go semi-hydro in the end. the coleus cutting is so cool, I had one with a similar leaf shape but not so extreme, I think it´s called monkey hand, but it sadly died. But I still have 3 varieties with lovely colors, one has creamy white, green and red colored sections in bright light and green and more pastell red in lower light. I have my coleus in lechuza pon and selfwatering pots and they love it, but soil is also easy with them.
Hoyas are so funny, they can lay dormant, almost frozen in time for years then just decide to take off! I love them
I love that Coleus! You two are so talented with your pottery and such!
I like the Coleus too, and I agree with you about the two of them😊
What a stressful situation with the scaffolding. You are strong and are dealing with it brilliantly. Good luck! We are here rooting for you :)

That wacky cutting from your mom in that funky pot! So fun!

Keep ‘em coming Claire. Love all the videos. Thank you!
i feel so ungodly early 🤣 have a good day everyone! ❤

wow well done on keeping the leaves on the african tree! mine always dry out because I am scare of watering it 🥴
I really like coleus. Love the one you showed from your mom's.

Bless you with all the construction - totally out of your control. @SydneyPlantGuy is having that problem right now, too!
That oregano you can boil it and drink it if you have cough

Hello Claire from Puerto Rico!! That Coleus left me speechless with its beauty!! I have never seen that species. 🙋🏼♀️🪴
SO happy about the Sarawak! I watched the video right around the time you got it and have been following along *waiting* to see it thrive! 😂 💚🪴
The begonia simbad is stunning so pretty hope the alocasia recovers x
If you don’t chop the white ghost, you’ll always wonder.. but it could make it go greener..🤔❤
Watching your videos lifts my spirit. 🥰 PS: My Corgis were flipping out with the truck beeping; I had to put on my headphones for them to be quiet.😊 🎧🐾🐾
I think that's a kiwi fern coleus. I went on a Google search deep dive because I wanted to get one for myself.
Poor Joli…I hope she learns to ignore the workers.

I think I know something that will cheer you up. See if you can get a Gryphon. It's a begonia hybrid. I think you'd love it.
I recently picked up a gymnocalycium variegata as when i saw yours for the first time a while ago i KNEW i had to have one!
Thank you Claire for the recommendation of the Sinbad, I have just ordered a cutting off EBay 🤞

Dont eat it though because its considered a narcotic in its native land of cuba and mexico lol
Which app are you using?
Hi from my Florida homestead Claire. Love your channel♥️🇺🇸

Thanks claire 🌸
19:32 immediately thought this looked like a sea slug 😂
Hi Claire, as always, I really enjoyed this video. I think the coleus from your Mom looks like a form of Inky Fingers. You might check if that might be the case?
Could you replace your ceiling light bulbs with full spectrum grow bulbs ?
Maybe you can reach out to Soltech for a sponsorship. I think their track lights would be perfect for your window plants
Stay sexy plant lovers😂❤
Hi Clare, What type of substrate used for the Begonia Sinbad ?
I love the funky coleus. If you find out the name of it, let us know 😊
Euphorbia Lactea White Ghost will revert to green if you don't give her enough light. I would take off the green offshoots and start again otherwise they will take over the plant
❤
Love the pig pot! So cute, and perfect for a propagation! You’ve inspired me to use a little decorative pot of my own to prop 👍
I wonder if chopping plants make them weaker for pests?? I would think it very stressful for a plant Just speculating
Ur lil cactus dude is a variegated gymnocalicium mihanovichii
23:30 Maybe it works the same way as with humans... as it will grow older, green will become grey, silver, white... 😅
What is the plant next to your Hoya?
When something goes wrong with a plant…….. check the roots, and……… not all plants like Pon!!!!
❤❤
Hey Claire, just wondering who is the Etsy seller 👀👀
