I can imagine it being a lonely posting for a German soldier. Storms pelting you in the face with cold rain. Thanks for sharing this. I love seeing history.
And almost all of the Norwegian gold reserve where shipped out from Norway to England from this harbour during the world war 2. And all that information you were not able to find before posting?🤦♀️ I recommend that you all see the movie Gullstranporten, then you’ll learn a little bit of Norwegian war history. And a lot of the history of Frøya.
The «capital” Titran you refer to is not the island center, it’s Sistranda. And if you bothered to go there, you would find both shops, restaurants, cafes and a hotel there. This is not a fair description of what Frøya is. Get yourself educated before posting.

Have you seen Cross Of Iron?
1970s movie? Yes, long time ago....was good as I remember, must see again@@dougieranger
@@sandvenexplorer It is a good movie, great cast directed by Sam Peckinpah.
So many good movies almost forgotten, streaming platforms only the same movies again and again...@@dougieranger
Why was the town selected as an RAF target Chris? 🇬🇧🇳🇴
No idea, tried to find info, must have been the fortress as shown, probably hard to hit the target...maybe bad weather
@@sandvenexplorer Quite possibly. I once read that less than 2% of WWII bombs actually hit their targets.
