      Thinking about it in this context, as horrible as the last 4 years has been, I think the worst part was the constant fear and anxiety we all carried with us, like a rock that just kept getting heavier. I wonder how my experience would have changed if I had lived more in the moment than making my mind into a "movie" of all the past historical horrors. Most of what I feared hasn't happened and probably still won't. Those things I feared that did wind up coming true (storming of the capital, for example) weren't even as bad as they were in my head. A good reminder for me to live in the present rather than hypotheticals.

However, since this is actually about how our thoughts affect our emotions and reactions to our emotions, the misremembered fact isn't relevant to the process. What is important here is that she was using borrowed imagery to create an unnecessary fear for herself.

      Lisa Ceazan Trump got elected because we were so focused in fear towards him. The only thing I see every day is fear of Trump. Half of this stuff is fake news and people are believing a lot of it. I am not a Trump fan at all but I think people who are against him are causing this hysteria. Whenever I seek the actual truth it is never as bad as it has been made out to be. Apathy is doing nothing when bad things are actually happening.

      Bad things ARE actually happening, FemBot. Billionaires and banksters setting policy. We have a POTUS who has no empathy, is a bully, a narcissist, and a sociopath. We have a leader who lies continuously, hates the press, derides anyone who does not agree with him, foments fear against Muslims, defends Putin over Americans (like Obama), and is quite comfortable with other fascists. To see that world as a creation of your thoughts, and to blame the self for having "bad thoughts" is solopsistic and infantile. It seems that your eyes and ears are closed.

    Your work is the source of a great wisdom, Katie. Thank you! So, the Work has worked for me for almost 2 years but there was a recent situation where it didn't work and I thought my brain has over-smarted it. However, I eventually realized that the source of my negative feeling was not one or two thoughts but near 40 different thoughts together caused a general negative feeling towards that situation. I would like to humbly suggest that the Work team would add a new worksheet where the audience will be able to list all the thoughts that relate to that situation continuously. It seems that the brain wants to stay on the same path and continuously create similar thoughts. To work with a network of thoughts rather than a single thought helped me a lot.
    Stay blessed~

      Even if/though true... Getting rid of our little part of the darkness/fear/hatred of the world will bring more light through us to be a bigger comfort to the hurt, to pray more sincerely, to bring more love... And that is the BIGGEST threat to evil like that. Protect any children you know of in your life. If it's too late to stop it... At least you warned people and do what you can, whenever you can. I respect alerting people to how to help or prevent or heal all such evils, thank you.

    I hate to say it, but all of these fears she named has or nearly has come true. I adore Byron. She helps me reduce my anxiety and think more clearly about how to handle abusive situations. But we should never use her tools to discredit or minimize our intuition, the facts, and observations of abuse. It should empower us to take a more effective stand for the millions of victims in our country, immigrants in our detainment centers, etc.

      Katie in this video totally minimizes intuition and reduces her anxiety in the hopes for peace and calm. The Jews whom had peace and calm and didn't flee in the signs of danger were sent to concentration camps.

      @baldapo-artist-performer 2 роки тому

      @@bluethundertd1183 no the work doesn't minimise intuition but allows it to come through. When you are in fear, you can't think clearly nor act adequately following your insight. Fear paralyses, and repeated fears creates social psychosis, and you end up doing the opposite of what you want, end up in camps like your example. Faith gives you courage and ability to face the enemy fearlessly and be guided, and not end up in camp. And to come to the politic of it, you can see what Biden has done, and most of her fears have been incarnated, which is often what happens, we project on others what we do and support ourselves, not because that's what you want but because that's what you are focusing on.

    I just wonder...how does this jibe with think political/social activism? If we substitute Hitler for Trump, and this is the 1930s, how effective would it be to go through this process and turn the negative statements about him into positive statements? I found myself calmed as a result of watching this video, but at the same time, my awareness of historical fact makes me think it's naive not be worried about history repeating itself . just wondering how to integrate staying centered and open-minded and in touch with higher wisdom with being a political activist for values I feel are important.

      I would suggest watching other videos on The Work. In my opinion, Katie does not propose denying what you believe in a delusional manner but rather to investigate what you believe to see if it really is true for you. (Much of what we are believing is handed down to us and not what we ourselves actually believe.) If something remains true for you when you become still and question it, then that’s the way it is. You have to be really honest with yourself and take care not to gaslight yourself when doing this.

    Yeah, this work may work for some people and not for others. I’m in the category where it doesn’t work. It’s a known and proven fact that validating someone’s suffering helps them move past it. Validation (not asserting rightness, but offering understanding) is incredibly healing.

    • @mindsigh4
      @mindsigh4 2 роки тому +1

      i agree with u that facts are facts, just like we should teach true history in schools, our personal histories should not be denied, or have people tell us to '' get over it",like how they disney sugar coat awful historical facts. bullshit. propoganda.
      but, if someones identity is based on their victimhood, & they clutch onto & claim it as a central/core of their identity, that identity is only one fraction of their totality as a living human being, yes?
      so it to me is not, "get over it,"but rather, what is going to help me to "get on with it'', cuz life is short, i don't want to need hate, or righteous indignation, or resentment to feel strong, better to be strong in our freedom from an ego that uses our confusion to stay in control, an ego created persona that is not in anyones real best interest, that is a house of cards built on sand.

    Wow... conspiracy beliefs are magnetic in fear. Having lived on a property whose doomsday prepper owners used fear to recruit, this mindset is traumatizing...over time it fosters and speaks into the atmosphere more panic and lack of motivation despite the validity of learning to homestead, use tools off grid and become more self sufficient. I almost died from the thoughts and fears I was around. When I finally decided to trust myself over all these heavy and entrapped beliefs, the negative momentum was still in high gear, and i slipped and fell and it cost me two years of rehab. Not the prep I expected. But...this segment is so much a breath of fresh air at this point of freedom from well meaning people who used their agenda to frighten, intimidate and dictate the very rules and regs they said they were opting out of.
