How To Pack a TW200 for MotoCamping | What I'm Bringing with me this Summer
Вставка
- Опубліковано 24 чер 2024
- Exploring less traveled roads and trails on a dual-sport or adventure motorcycle can be exhilarating. The worst part of adventure riding is turning back to go home for the night. Instead, why not just bring a little bit of home with you? Motorcycle camping, or the term coined "MotoCamping," is a lot like backpacking, except you don't have to walk. Keeping things light as possible while still having a little bit of comfort to help me sleep well at night is the best way to do it for my riding style. If you're just starting out and not completely sure if moto camping is for you, then going with cheaper gear may be a good idea. You can always upgrade to higher quality stuff later on, and a lot of this same stuff works just as well for backpacking. Camping and exploring with a motorcycle is an extremely economical way to travel compared to a gas-guzzling SUV and hotel stays. My TW200 can get close to 100 miles per gallon and is a fun way to explore the world around me. Here's how I pack my bike up and what items I bring with me to go moto camping. Thanks for watching, and don't forget to go on an ADVenture!

I totally missed out on this clip. I need to roll back some and browse your clips more carefully.
My tips from 35+ years of camping, much of it solo and way out there: use a true free-standing tent. Once you set it up, you can pick it up and move it to a more comfortable spot / level area / wind protected spot. Guying out is a pain, esp. when the ground is hard or rocky. Carry a whistle. You can get one with a mini compass. If you wreck and become immobile, your voice will not last calling for help. Carry a tea-light candle, one for each night. A tiny amount of candle-light is very soothing in pitch-black darkness. Use a a beanie to cover your ears and your eyes (for sleeping in). Baby wipes are your friend for pooping.
A few tea bags are essential to avoid headaches, if you are used to daily caffeine. A couple Imodium AD pills in case you get the runs from eating terrible food. A non-stick titanium pot and lid is insanely light, but costly. Use a bamboo spatula to avoid scraping the pot. Sunscreen for UV protection. Aloe vera cooling gel is my latest find. I get sun-burned even with sun-screen, somehow. Pack two head-lamps. The dark is dark. I never make camp-fires, as you will waste water putting it dead-out and smoke makes you stinky. I use a wrist compass on a Velcro strap. A handle-bar mounted compass can give you a false reading if your handlebars are a ferrous metal. Use a Gatorade bottle as a pee bottle at night (so you don't have to get up and out of your bag).
All Forest Service Ranger Stations should have Motor Vehicle Use Maps (by law). They show every single Forest Road, no matter how short. Chatting with Rangers is a great way to get the latest info on road conditions / closures / alt. routes, prescribed burns, water levels, and weather. Sometimes, you may have info that helps them, if you have been out in the back-country.
thanks for the tips!
Hope to see you back on the trails soon.. I really miss the talking rocks.
yeah rampart range is still closed for melt season. should be open again mid may they say. haha 😂
@@TDubsKid well, in the spirit of staying safe, ever think about an urban exploration of Denver?
UA-cam notifications never made me this happy lol
haha glad to hear!
Hey Tdubbs kid. You are super inspiring. I have made a ton of video and the editing you do has to take forever. My GF rides a TW200 and in 3 weeks I will have a Honda 300L, Im going to start a new channel just for the bikes I have. Hopefully they can be as cool as yourse!
hey, thanks! glad to hear. yeah, it takes a lot of time indeed. mostly hard to sit in one spot and edit non-stop without wanting to go do something else for a bit. very nice! I like how everyone is coming out with a 300 dual sport, seems like the perfect size. do it man! it's fun.
I've said it before and gonna say it again, your editing skills are epic! Also very surprised you don't have a million subscribers? I believe your channel will explode one day soon!!!
so much appreciated kind sir! 😀
I often wonder why this channel has not blown up yet. I've gotten so much great info, and this channel has been a big factor in convincing my wife to learn to ride (and get her own TW!). TDubs makes it all look fun, even the occasional spill!
I think the reason why his channel hasn’t blown up yet is because it revolves around not only one bike but a non trendy bike with the hipsters. My channel is me building a 1920’s airplane from scratch, my audience is extremely tiny.
I agree your videos are a absolute blast to watch and you seem like such a cool dude. But it’s a specialty bike.
HECK YEAH!!!! Thanks for rockin' the stickers and the SHOUT OUT!!! "Carry it and never need it!"
haha no problem! true that
Spray plasti-dip on the bottom of your bag for grip... just a thought
hey thanks a good idea. you guys always have good ideas
I came here to say that, glad I'm not crazy lol
Thanks for sharing your setup. Can’t wait for more adventures.
no problem! thanks for watching. more to come.
I love your positive outlook and attitude the most, yet your videos are very well made and I enjoy them very much. Cheers to you and congratulations on your channel mate!
Glad to hear! Your kind words are So much appreciated. Thank you
Just came back from my morning ride. What a surprise..loved it👍
very nice! hope you had a good ride. thanks for watching 😀👍
Killing it as always Young Buck! Good to see you still riding and making content to share! Thanks for bringing us along!
thanks so much! ill keep the videos rolling. no problem, thanks for watching!
Great video man, will rewatch as needed, a lot of good info. Thank you
Thanks! Glad to hear the info is useful
definitely motivated after watching this video - thanks!
glad to hear! the summer is among us :)
Ain't even started the vid and it looks good, keep up the good work
Hope you enjoy, thanks!
That was a very comprehensive video. Loved it.
Glad you liked it! 😀👍
Amazing work your cinematography is amazing as always. Would love to one day get out your way and go for a ride with you. You along with fortnine were the ones who convinced me I needed a TW. Thanks for all of the videos you make and keep up the good work.
Thanks a ton! that would be cool. let me know. no problem. Ill keep the videos rolling
Good evening, I really appreciate you taking the time to make this video on camping equipment. I'm 68 and edging towards 69 this year and I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to *moto-camp*. But, I watch your vids and others and I'm wishing I'd have gotten into T-dub riding and camping a long, long time ago. Anyway, this video sure shows some really neat progression in camping setups for m/c applications. Very interesting. Thank you for this.
Scott
Hey no problem. Glad you enjoy the vids. Yeah its a fun cheap way to travel. Thanks!
Scott, the only way it's ever going to happen is if you *_make it happen._*
Make it a goal by laying out all the smaller goals req'd to be there doing it! You have to move yourself from ''wanting'' to ''doing'' by moving it from dream to plan, focusing on the reality of it instead of leaving it just that dream of wishful thinking.
At our age it's hard to find the enthusiasm & impetus to accomplish and achieve said challenge because in so many ways we've already ''Been there, done that'' - yet we haven't really, and now we justify our lack of youthful drive in the false hope that _''Someday_ I'd like to...'' - lol
- Now maybe I'm preaching as much to me as you, but if the *boot* fits...
😉
Oh yeah, and we have to stop seeing ourselves as ''Old'' and instead wake up to the truth that we are still alive so *_we can do it!_*
I started mini bike camping in the mid Seventies when I was about 13. I’ve ridden dirt bikes all my life with my two sons and just today bought a new Beta 300 for off road riding and finally camping! I can’t wait for summer which comes late in the Colorado mountains. I’ll be 61 and I’ll stay within my limits ( I hope). Start on easy trails and work at your own pace.
Thanks TDubsKid for the videos. Love seeing you enjoy riding and camping! Be careful man
no problem! thanks for watching them! thanks ill try to survive haha
Just picked up a '19 Tdub and I love it!!! Thanks for all your vids, as they really helped me realize that this is exactly what I've been looking for as a first bike. Cheers
hey congrats, hope your getting lots of riding in. ride safe!
Slowly getting to see your informative, entertaining, scenic videos. Your sense of humor is gold.
I appreciate that! thanks for watching.
Best motocamping video I’ve seen! Great details, helpful “how to attach” to the bike.
glad it was helpful!
For first aid, I’d recommend you add a SAM splint, Israel bandage, tourniquet and gauze.
thanks for the idea
Great video!
Thanks!
As always a top notch video
Thanks!
@@TDubsKid welcome love the content
Love all your TW vids... You are definitely the best TW channel on YT... Cant believe you don't have a ton more subscribers
thank you, Glad you like them!
Awesome moto camping gear!!! Tell MotoCamping Nerd that he has two (2) new customers from NYC. My brother and I will purchase many items for Moto Camping from Moto Camping Nerd because of you TDubs!!! One day my brother and I will visit you in Colorado when we purchase our RV.
for sure! I will let him know indeed. he sells some great moto camping stuff for sure. I just ordered the new sea to summit traveler ii to complete ultralight setup. that would be cool, you could camp in rampart with it and I could meet up there to do some riding one day
We appreciate the support! Welcome to the MCN family!
Enjoyed the vlog
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Thanks Wes, that was helpful.
no problem. Glad to hear it! thanks for watching Ian.
Great information here. This video was broad enough to let us think about what we need, but at the same time narrow enough to keep us focused on the essentials. No one will leave this video buying something they can't use. As an aside, Yamaha should be sponsoring you just for the added benefits you bring to the attractiveness of the TW.
thanks! glad to hear it was helpful in that way. I tried to make it as short as possible. much appreciated 😀
You packed a ton of stuff into the 1st saddlebag...just kept adding lol. Great video! I just subscribed. I have an XT250 and am going light (for the 1st time) moto-camping with my husband soon. He will be on his Tenere 700. We've been gathering stuff and your video helped. Thanks. I picked up the DrySpec 20L (each) saddlebags and the Nelson Rigg 40L duffle/backpack.
haha yeah once in awhile I can get it all in there with ease but usually it's a tight fit. thanks! very nice. I can't wait to try and go super minimal. glad to hear the vid was helpful. nice that should be a great setup
Solid video! Plan on moto camping a bunch this year
thank you! me too! cheers to a season of great motocamping 🍻
Good video. Thx man.
No problem! Thanks for watching
Great info, thanks
Glad it was helpful! no problem
Great vid! 👍🏻🇺🇸
thanks!
Great video man
Appreciate it
Great video!………… safe travels!🤞🌟👀😎👍👋✌️🇨🇦
Thank you! 😁 safe travels to you as well
Un petit bonjour de France. Vos vidéos sont très bien faites. 👍👍👍👍
content de vous entendre de france, merci d'avoir regardé la vidéo
I just got the ProCycle monthly email. You’re the featured rider. I said “hey I’ve seen that guy oh UA-cam!” Congrats!
haha nice! that was nice of him to put me on there
Great vid TDub
thanks!
Nice detailed list, I appreciate that you don’t just speak the marketing points of products and give real world use examples and comparisons. Even though I live in CO your videos still show me parts of the state I will never get to see with my own eyes. Take care and keep it two wheels down (unless you are in the van, then four).
thanks! yeah so much better to actually see how a product performs by actually using it. so many cool places here in CO it's endless! even the less traveled areas are amazing. thanks so much haha. ride on!
Great vids and editing. I moto camp and tour on a 6th gen VFR and have found some good tips here. Subscibed. Cheers!
Hey thank you! Very cool, glad to provide some tips
Speaking of minimalist moto camping, I'm gonna attempt to go on a minimalist moto camping trip with my buddy in July. We're going overnight in the NV desert, he's on a DRZ400 (won't be minimalist, got metal side saddle boxes) and I'm going on a Honda 100 with a backpack, I think its gonna be fuel, water, food, tent, cause I wont be able to fit much else! Wish me luck, I'm pretty nervous about it.
oh nice! sounds like it should be fun, I can't wait to try minimal moto camping. just ordered a new sleeping bag that is about half the pack size, most everything should fit well in my backpack, tank bag and day trip tail bag. hope it works out for you! 1 night should no problem.
Great to see more content TDubsKid! I see you are starting to migrate to ultra light gear. This is what I have done for my KLX230. I've used my backpacking/bikepacking gear. I'll post my gear on my channel also.
glad to hear! yeah I think it will make things more fun off road. nice, that's a cool bike for the price. nice ill have to check it out
Put the down sleeping bag in the dryer on air fluff with a couple tennis balls. They'll gently fluff it back up
for sure, I tried that with dryer balls and it's like new again! makes me wonder if anything was actually even damaged
Dude, you have the most under-rated channel on UA-cam. You're content and quality are top notch. Keep it up.
I appreciate that! ill keep them coming. hopefully I can get through my stock pile this winter.
You have the best moto vlog intro on UA-cam!!
Wow, thanks!
wow !!!! nice video , i watch all your video you rock boys ,,,,
Hey thanks!!
I will look into some of the items you showed . For my first moto camp ride I will go to a park in the redwoods near the coast to test my gear . Have a Tenere 700 and it kills me I only have ridden it once in 5 weeks and that was 5 weeks ago . Having unusual weather here in Northern California with 70 degree days and full sun and it's December 1st tomorrow . The mighty TW looks like a whole bunch of fun , I could literally carry it out if it had issues , haha .
for sure, he has some good quality gear. that sounds like a fun trip! love that bike too, would love to have once. I know what you mean. I haven't ridden much lately either, Kinda working on van life a bit more recently. need to do a winter motocamp soon. same here! we gotta use it while it lasts haha. for sure lol
Great detailed video! Love the lighting tho.
Glad you enjoyed it! thanks
Good job! Saw some items I think I’m going to add to my gear!
Have some great trips this summer!
Rolf
Thanks! Yeah thought it would be good to share what has worked for me and what ill be using this summer. Going motocamping next week
@@TDubsKid My wife found the solar silicone camp lights. Only difference from yours is that it has a bottom. It still sits as well as hangs and it has the same 5 modes that yours does. I was happy to get them. They put out a lot of light and easy to keep charged...
I think I saw a picture today that you took of the solar eclipse. I got up at 4:30 this morning but it was overcast here in SoCal so I saw nothing!
Enjoying your vids as always! 👍🏼
Really helpful it was ✌️
Glad it helped!
Man.. good haul of stuff 👍👏
Thanks 👍
I feel like you’ve stepped it up again on the video making. Always a good watch. Love the channel. Good content too.
glad to hear! thanks so much 😀
@@TDubsKid Hey, I second that. I just found your amazingly excellent channel because of another guy reviewing his ride on a loaned TW200 and he mentioned you as the one to watch for the most quality in-depth video referencing.
He was right.
@@stanner9474 hey thanks! glad you think so :)
Great, great video as always. Nice list of gear. I have been bringing a hammock along on day trips. Stop somewhere high in the Idaho Mountains, string it up, have lunch and listen to nature.
thank you! good call. I love my hammock for hanging out. just not a huge fan for sleeping in one for some reason. maybe I just need to get more use to it. that sounds great
Great video kid. My setup is pretty similar to yours. Although I prefer the giant loop coyote saddle bag because is in one piece and very waterproof. Enjoy your next moto camping ride! 🤠🤠
thanks! very nice. I was looking at those, and I may have to get some and one of their big tail packs. I really like the design of them. I will, much appreciated!
Awesome 👏🏻
Thanks!
Great presentation, TDubs! I am now an overland camper using a converted cargo van but I want to buy a small dirt bike like yours or the Honda Trail 125 and mount it on a rack attached to a trailer hitch. Once I arrive at my campsite I can access trails or run to the local store. I used to motocamp using a Suzuki 250 enduro years ago while on active military duty in California. So much fun. I've enjoyed your videos due to your great skills as a rider and film maker.
thank you! I want to convert a cargo van someday. yeah perfect combo. plus if you break down you can use the bike to go to town and get parts. thank you so much!
Finally Motocampnerd got you some stuff sent! Hopefully you can do a collab with Dorkintheroad eventually!
for sure, he has some really great stuff. that would be cool!
@@TDubsKid Heck yea! If you and Dorkintheroad get together and do something in Colorado, I'll definately make the trip. I'm already going to the Giant Loop Rally in June. It would be great to meet you as well! Thanks for all you do!
@@KenpachiZarakiX haha yeah that would be rad
Awesome vid man!! Every time i watch your vids it makes me wish i could street legal my XR250R and go moto camping right from home! Who knows maybe ill buy a true dual sport and go from there .🍻 keep up the good work!
thank you! that would be rad. I bet you could street legal it. it's lots of fun. thanks!
Wow! Hello my friend! it's amazing! It's wonderful video! Thank you for telling me about moto camping!
Very useful information! It's wonderful! Nice upload! And it's great high quality video! I really like it! Thank you for sharing!
hey there! Thanks for visiting, no problem! it's a fun cheap way to travel. much appreciated. stay safe
Getting ready for summer and re-watching this. So appreciate you sharing.
Did you sell your DJI Mavic Air? Just upgrading? I love biking but sometimes your awesome flying shots really make a video for me.
Hey thanks for watching, hope the video was helpful. No problem. I still have the mavic air but hardly use it. Mostly use racing drones. Glad to hear!
Great intro
thanks
Just subscribed and enjoying your videos. I live in North Eastern Thailand and plan to buy a Suzuki VanVan 200 soon, unfortunately the Tw200 isn’t available here over wise that would be my first choice
Thanks for the sub! Cool to hear from people around the world. Pretty similar bikes. They stopped the van van here recently.
As far as a rubberized bottom on your dry bag you can always get some thin rubber and contact cemented it on.
Great idea! Thanks
You could glue some closed cell foam (ridge rest) on the bottom of the large blue bag. Use it for another year or two. Slow its progress to the landfill.
for sure! either way no way I would throw it out. would just give it to someone who needs it
That gear he sent you is nice stuff, I have some gear just like that for back packing. I have different tents depending on how long the stay. I have light weight back packing stuff, but I tend to use cheapo Walmart air mattresses because I like to be off the ground more and I like the comfort, plus they cost very little to replace. I like the Alps Mountaineering liners and blankets too they work well and packs up small
Indeed! Yeah the ultralight stuff is cool. That makes sense, just gotta find that perfect setup for the right trip, good to know
Hay, cool tip on the Sawyer filter. Its also made to fit inline on the straw inside a hydroflask. So just cut the straw to fit the length inside a hrdroflask. Then when you want to file it up, just unscrew cap, dip in the creek, screw cap back on and good too drink. And keeps it cold for a bit that way too.
hey thanks. oh so that's what that straw is for. great idea
The secret to the Sawyer Squeeze is to carry the filter and bag in a ziploc. I prefer to use a gallon-sized. Then you collect the water in the bag and pour into the Sawyer bag. Simple, cheap, and effective. Works for me.
for sure! I think someone on here left a link to a way better durable bag that fit is as well
Takin my beginner permit test tomorrow! Thanks for all the inspiration!
No problem, best of luck!
@@TDubsKid BTW passed it no problem! Going on my first trip tomorrow!
@@collinmc90 nice congrats, have fun on your trip
I hope it starts to warm up out there soon, my 10 year old son and I are loading up the Klr and heading to Creede on May 26th for a few days of camping and trout fishing. I looked earlier today and the overnight temps are still right around freezing.
yeah me too, we are getting tons of rain now, probably snowing in the mountains. should be good for the dryness we have been having. nice good luck and have fun! should be ok just bring lots of layers
That is some great stuff for road life right there.
.. or rather off-road life. ;)
haha for sure!
The camp soap is a great idea
Yeah makes thinks better, no leaks to worry about
Would really be cool to have a group camping trip someday!
true that!
Glue some strips of old bicycle inner tube along the length of the bottom of that big blue dry bag. Rubber cement or contact cement should work fine just wipe the surfaces to be glued down with denatured alcohol/methyl hydrate first to clean the surface so the glue sticks. Also, scuff up the inner tube after you cut it open on the side you're going to glue it with some sand paper for better adhesion before cleaning with alcohol or mineral spirits. Three or four strips of inner tube along the length of the bottom should provide ample grip so it stays in place much better. You just saved yourself a pocket full of cash for a new bag. Cheers.
great idea! thanks so much
I moved away from down many years ago, since it is so hard to get dry once it gets wet. While bow hunting for Elk one September I saw the temperature go from 60 degrees in the daytime to 20 below zero fahrenheit at night in September, in Southwestern Montana. I was really glad that my sleeping bag was dry!
yeah regular down is not great when wet, sea to summit uses a special treated ultra dry down in their bags. but does cost a bit more than others. yeah that gets scary if you have a wet bag in that kind of temp
@@TDubsKid thanks! Good info.
I use a Hewolf tent, Packed it's skinny but long so it won't fit inside my saddle bag but my saddle bag has extra long straps so I can strap stuff to the top of it so It's perfect for that. Awesome thing about hewolf tent is that it can be setup in about 45 seconds!
nice! yeah most tents have a long pack size. nice! that's fast
Hey TDubskid!!! I bought my 06 TW about a year ago. It's my first bike and I love it, but I bottom out going over small pot holes. It took me months to figure out that someone modified the swing arm and I need to replace it :( I was hoping you had some information on this matter. I love your videos! I just cleaned my air filter today and adjusted my valves a couple months ago thanks to your awesome videos!!
hey glad to hear! yeah the stock front suspension is not the best but can be hugely improved with emulators. darn is it just extended or something? it's easy to replace, I show most of it in this vid. ua-cam.com/video/VcRU9PRQmTs/v-deo.html glad you enjoy them and they are helpful!
Awesome video and sweet transitions and other effects 😀! For me personally 40 minutes is a bit long so I skip a little here and there 😄. (Edit: having chapter names and times would make it perfect)
hey thanks! good to know. i'm always trying to make these videos as short as possible. Ill add that when I get a chance. thanks for the feedback
You can use that “Footprint” and a couple spare stakes and use it as a catch for rain water then filter it through a small filter straw. 👌🏽
for sure, good idea!
Great content. I have traveled many places in the world on bike and scooters. I do know bigger is definitely not better. Try picking up a gs1200 on top of a bus or in a truck.
What’s your thoughts about this bike for long distance travel. Are there better seats, bigger tank, stiffer suspension. All the things to make it a true traveler
thanks so much! cool to hear, yeah I couldn't imagine picking up a bike like that loaded with gear. it can be as long as you don't need to go over 55 mph. all those mods you mention do exist
The blue bag you have, you could potentially spray the botome with plasti-dip for a rubberized grip 👍
for sure, that would help
We were thinking about your tail bag and we were thinking you should glue some rubber onto the bottom of it wouldn't be hard to do. Great video, always enjoy them.
it's great for the price. yeah maybe use some gorilla construction adhesive or something.
@@TDubsKid I just drizzled hot glue randomly over the bottom of my bag and left it to dry/cool and it worked great for grip, cheap and easy (just dont let the glue get too hot or thinner materials might melt through). Also thanks for all the great videos, we really do appreciate them.
When you lit the 2 butane stoves, you can see part of the fire is blue and the upper portion of the flame is yellow. The blue portion is the hottest part of the flame. So if anyone wants to put their hand in the flame, just be sure to stay in the yellow part of the fire because the blue portion may burn you.
haha so true, good advice. better be less burned thank more burned
Great video as always. Quick question since you are in Colorado...I’m heading to the San Juan’s in august on the tdub. Would you recommend rejetting? It will be a one time trip and normally am in lower altitudes.
Thank you! I have never touched the carb. I have 17,000 miles almost now
I throw my down bag into a nonheat cycle in the drier every so often to redistribute the down. I don't keep it compressed all the time, but figure it can't hurt before heading out to the backcountry. Also, to save a tiny amount of space, you're carrying the extra Rocstraps in your bag. Why not also run those from your saddlebag drings to save space and add extra big bag tie down? Anyway, great video :).
great idea, I did that after making this video and it brought my sleeping bag back to life. good call. thanks so much
Nice video thanks. You mentioned how you always run out of water, why don't you keep the larger bladder in your backpack?
I got the water cell x now for extra h2o
Dude! You need to get go pro with your editing/video skills! Awesome intro clip!
Thanks! I got a couple go pros
insulated sleeping pads are great, no chilly backside.
true that, I can't wait to try it out. just laying on it felt warm
Most dual Sports have exceptionally strong frames. Generally the smaller displacement bikes just aren't made to carry the same loads as larger bikes. Most of the 650 dual Sports have exceptionally strong frames
yeah mostly the smaller dual sports have weaker frames, once you get closer to adv bikes they get stronger especially the subframes
Do not blow up the air mattress with your mouth. It will trap moisture in there which will drop the r value. Also do not blow into the pump-bag for that reason. Love your videos, love your TW. wish I would fit on a bike like that (6’6” Sasquatch looks ridiculous on that thing)
that makes sense. the instructions say to blow into the bag but not necessary. thanks glad you enjoy it. haha yeah that's a bit big for a TW
Hey man, great videos, love the editing, your doin it right..... I bought my first TW in 2014 and ended up selling it, HUGE mistake.... Yesterday I drove through the Arizona mountains to buy my 2nd TW, a 2007 in super good shape with ONLY 1,400 mi. on it. I know you did a couple video's on sprockets, I went with a 15 tooth on the front and a 47 on the rear with my 1st bike. I'll be riding this bike on the street for now and wanted your opinion on the best setup for the road. Do I even need to go with a 15 tooth on the front or just stay with the 14...? I'll definitely go to a 47 for the rear, is a 44 tooth way to much....? That was my biggest concern right now, I'm asking because I know you know this bike better than anyone at a dealership.... Thanks Kid.
hey thank you! glad you enjoyed it. same year as mine too bad you didn't keep it. glad you found another one though. hard to say for sure since I have only had 14/47 14/50 and 15/50. the 14/47 and 15/50 are nearly the same. they are great for road and off road
I get to do one ride a year about 3/4 of day and dream of a Moto camping trip with my Honda ruckus. I get to do a fishing trip now leaving early in the morning and getting back mid afternoon. But I'd love to made it a proper trip fishing and Moto camping. You are a inspiration to me and a goal. However I have one issue when camping I have a breathing machine c-pap and I have to use a big deep cycle boat battery to power when camping with the family and it'll last 4 nights if fully charged but that's 90# for all that stuff.
oh that would be fun to do on a ruckus. darn hopefully you will be able to make it happen someday. maybe get one of those big lithium power banks they are lighter and can also get solar panels for them to charge during the day. and a lot of them will run a C pap
@@TDubsKid funny side note. I talked my boss at work in to letting me build battery backs got all the batter welding equipment and so on. Rebuild a few old dewalt 18v to have new lithium tech for about $20 for a 8.0 size battery in the old housing. My plan is to get really good and build custom battery packs to fix odd spots like a camping battery pack. Just takes time lol. Love your videos!
@@fryreartechnology7611 glad it worked out! sounds great, have fun!
Awesome detailed video! How much does your setup on the rack weigh? I'm trying to keep the weight on my rack to about 20lbs max
thanks! it depends on what exactly im bringing but somewhere between 20 and 30lbs. less now with the lighter tent
I lived the P51 until I found the Australian FRED. Check out the FRED. Easier to work with all of that spoon lever action.
ill have to check that out, thanks!
Not sure if you would be in a situation when you would eat any small game.?.?. Anyway I picked up a Henry survival.22 rifle. Then entire rifle all fits inside the stock. It's ultra compact. Also extremely accurate for a short barred semi automatic rifle. Rabbit over a fire after a long day is mighty fine.
only if I had to. man I looked those up and want one now haha seem so cool to have. so true
"This pocket I use for self defense:)" haha good idea to keep it there thou. I usually put mine in one of the saddle bags (not text to exhaust lol)
haha! yeah not as quickly accessible but I hip carry once I get to camp. nice haha that works. I want to get a glock 20 next for the bears
Great video!! what watch are you using?, is it Garmin?
Thank you! Yeah, its a garmin instinct. Best smart watch ever that doesn’t look like a smart watch. And the gps is great, I love it for finding my down quadcopters
@@TDubsKid Thanks for your response!!!, I'm planning to buy one of those...By the way, Great Channel!!!, keep up the good work!!!
Drop that Maruchan ramen and get yourself some Indomie noodles. Mi Goreng is the best flavor. If you've never had it, you're missing out.
yeah Maruchan is not the best tasting. ill have to try some. currently nongshim is my favorite that I have tried but I added Indomie Mi Goreng to my wish list
@@TDubsKid I'm sure you'll like it!
We need to get Shinko to make us a rear tire!!!
yeah that would be great!
