When I first found this beautiful wood turning video, I had recently experienced the horrific loss of a 55 plus year relationship. These songs have affected me profoundly. My Dear Heart was also a fine wood worker in his own right. These songs mean so much to me and your results are so beautiful. Thank You 💖 so much .

In the 70's n 80's when schools had shop class...we made resin blocks and drilled out the inside to look like a flower. Polished it to a gloss. Died the area where the flower was and mounted it on a piece of smoked plexiglass. Very cool build. Wish I had the equipment to try this. Thanks for sharing.😁

I love watching this kind of stuff. I'd like to issue a challenge of sorts; maybe more along the lines of a request. I'd like to see you do a similar project but this time when you pour in the clear casting resin, sprinkle in a few termites or butterflies or some kind of insects to be encapsulated by the resin. Only the slightest bit of color tinting might be needed. Of course you'd have to take great pains to place those insects into places where your cutting tools can't reach them as you reach final depth.
The aim would be to turn the wood into whatever shape you desire with the end results being like those amber geological specimens we see from time to time with some type of Jurassic long extinct insects imbedded in them. I think that would be cool as heck; especially since you'd have the old wood as a backdrop. I hope you read this and take up the challenge.
