Mr. Preece, I would first like to thank you for your involvement in child trafficking. Very important for those children to be saved. At the age of six I was a victim of incest. So I applauded your support. You also have a very creative mind. Beautiful piece ❤ 😍
I can honestly say that out of the bazillion videos that I have watched of wood turning, this has to be the most beautiful piece of art that I’ve seen. I just discovered your channel today. What makes this piece even more beautiful is the fundraiser. As a person with a family member that is a survivor, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for using your talent to help those that have dealt with or are dealing with these terrible situations. Hi Dan. I'm a retired, disabled Senior Master of Art (Teaching) from South Australia. I stumbled across your site & decided to have a look & I am glad I did. What I enjoyed was the spontaneous creative attitude on display as you worked & the piece evolved into a beautiful vase where the wood & the rope seemed to float in space, largely brought about by your use of your apparent, preferred clear resin. Well done on your relaxed commentary as well keeping us informed as to what things were running through your mind keeping us even further engaged in what you were creating. Don from South Aust.
loving this project. i really like how this one looks more like a resin vase with some wood in it rather than a wooden vase with some resin in it. the “floating wood” effect you achieved is pretty sweet. could be a neat concept to revisit someday?
Gorgeous! Amazing artwork created by a sweet soul. Hats off to you, Sir!! Wishing all the best to you, yours and the things you believe in to helping the world be a better place 💫💖🌖
Hello! I want to congratulate you for those beautiful projects and at the same time thank you very much for the purpose of your projects. We need more people like you in this world, people who care. I'm an artist myself, I work on metal and on wall clocks. But your projects really define your God given talent and it is greatly appreciated because of the purpose of it. Keep up the good work buddy!!!
This is absolutely beautiful and my God, that song is amazing. Reminds me of my Granddad who passed away in 2015. When we were kids, he used to play his guitar and sing and all of us kids use to sit around and listen to him. He loved two artists: Lightnin Hopkins & Jimmy Reed and this song reminds me of their music. Your work is beautiful, and I will be buying something, hopefully in the very near future. Great job and thank you for sharing. I love, love, love your art creation.

It's a beautiful piece! Thank you for sharing. I do appreciate the commentary- would like even more about what you're doing or the design/ decision making process as you go along.
I always enjoy watching you work with the wood and the resin. Adding the rope looks really cool. I especially like how you can see some of the fibers of the rope in the resin.
It's beautiful and intriguing. I am in full agreement that vacuum degassing, followed by the pressure pot is the way to go with porous materials such as these. Pressure alone would not have cleared the bubbles/air out of the rope fibers. This is outstanding work.
I do turning as well, and I have done several epoxy pieces (not as many as you), but I have struggled with forms and epoxy leakage. Your solution is brilliant! I love it!
I hope you take as careful attention to safety as we see in this lovely video! Resin and hardener are very rich in highly problematic chemical compounds - until they've properly hardened they should be treated with utmost care and caution! Please keep well ventilated and in the case that you get ANY on your skin please take care of rinsing very carefully! And if you feel like you're getting any allergic reactions please make sure to get proper medical advice! Please stay safe - and have fun! 😄 Lots of love from Denmark 🤗
Love it! I think that's one of my favorites of yours so far and you've had some cool ones. Yes, I think you've got that bubble problem beat. Great job!
Love this piece. Have you ever considered contrasting colors of wood in a similar spiral epoxy project ? I think your contributions to getting these children free are amazing, thank you for sharing your art and cause with us.
Such a unique piece. I love the combination of materials. And the partial voiceovers is great, and the music during the down time is perfect. Watching something be made is always nice, but learning about the process, whether thought or action, adds a whole other facet. I'm curious why you don't use a mold release on the plastic? Not that it's necessary for what you're doing. If you ever try to do a larger piece than what your pots can handle, should try out the method that tabletop makers use. Coat the wood with a thinner epoxy first, allowing it to soak into that top layer and seal the wood so that the wood can't release bubbles into your deeper pours.
If you can, always use clear resin. I love the "floating" effect on your projects. So many woodturning people add so much color to the resin and the natural beauty of the wood & extra decor is gone. Maybe a pinch of color for Halloween or Christmas 🎄
I'd love to see that translated into my niece's favourite season - Halloween 🎃 and for me personally I would love to see something for that very sweet and North American celebration; Valentine's! This could be so cute in pink! 😄
