i liked how maps in the original mw games looked like just a section on an iraki city, they blended into the sorroundings. I feel like more current maps feel like a standalone arena in the middle of nowhere.
Washed out colors are not a bad thing. You need a mix between saturated and insaturated maps. The FDE tone of arab cities is cool imo, together with some sand it makes a cool atmosphere. If you put too much saturation everywhere your maps start looking like mario kart tracks.
Tbh echelon is a very cool map because it takes place on a roof where you can jump ledge to ledge.

Hydroelectric, Himmlemat, fortress, Mercado, Polayos lighthouse, Kuesteanar District, waterfront all look stunning and aren't copies of real life locations
That’s a fair point! I was mainly thinking of the launch/beta maps during my rant 😂 But mercado and hydroelectric were still there.

@@cakes9962disagree. I can somewhat see what you mean, but it's definitely not ugly and I think the map has a very distinct and creative color palate

Okok overflow is horrendous too but aftermath is a legitimate disaster
I already picked aftermath as the worst map in BO2 and I don’t like to repeat stuff from other videos! So, that’s why I didn’t pick it here

Video idea. You make a new campaign. I mean you did that before but add more stuff. Like turret section, sniper mission, stealth mission, characters, villain,etc.
Just a tip- change the name of the sections in your videos to avoid spoilers.
We can see the names of each map before they come up lmao
It's not even me making the section names! It's UA-cam spoiling it 😂 But in the future I could just the name the sections personally so UA-cam doesn't do it
I'm surprised you didn't picked Foundation for MW3. This map was really fun, but it only has 3 colors on it.

Bo3 was my first and favorite cod i was 6 when it released I was playing in my cousin’s closet to try not to get caught shooting people
This feels more like someone who doesn't like the Infinite Warfare CoDs more so than someone rating the worst looking maps in each game
although cold war may not have been the best game, it has the BEST multiplayer lobby music since the previous black ops games

Waw maps looks bad because it shows a more depressing face of the conflict, the war isn't nice, its scary, painful, and horrorific

Skid row is dogwater that is true, but it was the first game I ever played on MW2 when I was 9. I got 3 kills that game and was immediately hooked

For black ops 2 I felt pod was more ugly than overflow but the rest I agree with
farm 18 is my favoutite looking map in mw22.
Exodus one of the most broken maps ever because of all the dam issues it had.

I feel like CoD4 Pipeline is just ugly. It’s massive and very gloomy compared to the other maps. Hardly any color that I can remember except a blue tinge everywhere.
Also, be honest, you forgot this map existed. That’s how you know it wasn’t great.
Jungle from Black Ops 1 was a great map as far as playability but it looked like dogshit

most of snow maps in modern cods look like shit due to terrible lighting in heavily overcast conditions. Himmelmat's lighting is trash.
Also night maps look way too blue and bloomy
Infinite Warfare's maps had the coolest locations and premises, which is why it sucked so mych that they all had basically the same design. How do you have an advanced movement game and still can't break away from the flat small 3 lane maps. So much potential for great and memorable locations ruined by terrible and repetitive layouts.
Also yes, i thought the tanks in waw were cool
Honestly I enjoyed skidrow. I thought Quarry was just a bit uglier.
Cod 4: Downpour(depressing with the rain)
Waw: basically the entire game, but I guess I’ll say Knee Deep(map is hella good tho)
MW2: Storm 🤢
BO1: Agree with Silo/Stockpile
MW3: Bakara(might be the worst looking map in cod history in one of the ugliest cod games, it’s JUST FUCKING GREEN)
BO2: Overflow(rare BO2 L)
Ghosts: Chasm(worst map ever, so fitting it’s looks as ugly as it plays)
AW: Comeback(the best map looks the worst lmao)
BO3: Exodus(ugly, reminds me of the ugliness of Chasm)
IW: Crusher(I dislike desert aesthetic)
WW2: Excavation(quite literally couldn’t see enemies on this map, shout-out to Caretean)
BO4: Morocco(Common Desert L, didn’t play Sandstorm)
MW: Aniyah Palace(I dislike dry/desert maps, especially ones that fucking suck)
BOCW: Collateral(common Desert L)
VG: Tuscan(common Desert/dry L)
MWII: Black Gold(the night time completely ruins anything and everything this map has going).
I’d like add some thoughts onto your
little mini rant at the end. Personally, disagree with Farm 18, but also I actually like the aesthetics of the Modern IW. MW did 100% go for that more realistic vibe with muted colors, but maps like Hackney, Grazna, Gun Runner, Atlas, Hovec Sawmill, Cheshire Park, Petrov Oil Rig, Mialistor tank factory, I think these maps actually look really cool while having muted colors.
As for MWII, I disagree you somewhat strongly. The color it has is actually really dope, and is probably the most colorful Modern Warfare game. More than just the irl ones, like in my opinion, Farm 18, Santa Sena, Mercado Las Alma’s, Himmelmatt, Pelayo’s Lighthouse, the two new maps ripped from Vondel. Like at least for me, besides MW3, and to an extent Ghosts(launch maps) and MW2, look much worse in terms of color. I dunno the aesthetics are FAR from being a complaint about this game, tbh it’s one of the few things I like about MWII.
As for your lack of care comment regarding IW, idk. Like I feel it’s less so that they are passionless about their game. I disagree, like while I don’t disagree that IW doesn’t really care for its hardcore fans, IW still does have passion. Unfortunately, it is primarily reserved for the Campaign, the Art/Animation guys(those MF’s actually make changes to small complaints by the gun nut side b/c they care that much), and the Causals, especially after IW flopped and MW popped.
Like if I had to reword it, IW puts time and passion into trying to achieve a really good looking and feeling game, but will sacrifice gameplay integrity and the hardcore playerbase to do so.
Bakaara looked like Fallout 3 tbh but it helps seeing a color other than grey imo

Pretty maps don’t mean good. Treyarch maps are pretty but typically aren’t as good as IW maps.

@@AscendAR Taraq when you start the map it barely loads up, lags a ton because of said loading up, looks more depressing than 95% of Ghosts aesthetically whereas Farm 18 has more colour and doesn’t lag much but that’s in my experience

MW19 has some of the most boring maps I’ve ever seen.
I would change like 2 maps, Aftermath for BO2 and Taraq for MW22. But all in all, i agree with this list
I didn’t pick aftermath because I already picked that map as the worst in BO2! I try not to repeat things. And Taraq is a fair switch!
